    Stencil shadows vs Shadow Maps

    I'd like to add that, given that Arma 3 is a DX10/11 title, the CPU-intensive part of stencil shadows can be done on the GPU in geometry shaders. I have no idea whether BI is doing that right now but it certainly would be something for them to look into.

    demo wont install

    I had problems with bin1 and 2 (dl'ed off Sprocket US), along with (of course) a non-matching hash. I was away for a few hours today so I decided to try downloading again, but I only got a different, still non-matching hash. For my third try, I decided to use the torrent, as that would guarantee me uncorrupted data, even if I get better speeds from the http download. However, I then realized that, as long as I set the torrent location to the same place as the corrupt file, it would scan it and only retrieve the damaged parts. 5 minutes later I had a matching hash, a lot less time taken than another 4gb download. If your download's hashes don't match, try using the torrent to fix it.
  4. The driver's sights in the BMP-3 don't seem to work, they're just a reflective white material. Upon spawning as driver in the editor, I get the usual 2d overlay for the viewing port, which is fine, but if I get out and then back in, I'm left with the problem above: Stuck in the 3d interior with no way to see.
