  1. If he's lost, or "where are you" distance away, you can target at your feet and hit "move there". Once he's in range of being able to see you it's possible to "regroup" him.

Its just their way of telling you that they are far behind, you dont actually need to tell them where you are.

If you hit "regroup" and they say "where are you" they're unable to regroup. You do have to tell them where you are via a "move there" at your approximate location.

  2. With the goofy AI, I'd of followed the "reinstall it" advice. I've read many posts from people saying they have AI issues which coincidentally comes with "I just got this game and....". It seems those that have the game, do the tutorial and actually cut into the meat of this game have diminishing issues.

I'm not saying it's operator error, which is why I suggest you may want to reinstall. Delete your arma 2 folder in the "my docs" folder if you do.

One thing on goofy AI. I've come across instances of goofiness when I accidentally get too far out of range after issuing a move command and not issuing subsequent orders. Once a "move there" command is given they won't follow or move till another "move there" is given or a "regroup" is issued.

In the couple rare instances I'm having an issue with AI I've found hitting the "Y" key and cycling through squad mates till returning to my "cooper", assuming lead again.

Quick question: if I as leader move out of range (and you know when it happens when you hit "regroup" and you here "where are you") do the AI ever break off and become autonomous?

  3. When you happen across enemies, do you take out officers first? I do, Not sure if there is any advantage. I figure if you take out leadereship the others will be less organized. Is this how it works or is no difference in that regard?

Other than that I target longer range threats to shorter range.

  4. No idea. Reloaded a saved mission where I was in front of him and when I logged in he dropped to the ground...like a sniper shot him in the head.

I thought I had reverted to a previous save where he was still alive but I went up to him a couple days and several saves later and he's on the dirt.

I'm hoping that after the mission advances and he's needed he'll be revived...

  5. Starts out where you select a soldier by putting your crosshairs on them and hitting space. You order him to another location by pointing to ground. You then tell him to "regroup", he runs over.

Next you tell him to get in humvee, pull up map with "m", and have him drive to a supply depot to pick up a guy. Get him to drive up there using the map, but there is no description on how to go about getting someone to get into the vehicle.

  6. Checking out the demo, looks worthy of buying yesterday. Having trouble with a demo bootcamp mission #6 "Team".

Never had to ask for help on a demo mission before, lol.. but.. I send the guy up to the supply depot in a Humvee to pick up a guy.. and can't figure it out. He gets up there and I'm lost.

I hate to jump in a game without figuring out the simple things first. What am I missing here?

    Thanks for any help..
