  1. When one player has already killed a friendly unit, he turns to enemy side

This is not a good solution at all, considering that having an enemy unit present in your base might set off unwanted triggers that the mission maker intended for other purposes.

I too hate the cheaters/hackers pissing on our beloved game but it's a rather delicate issue to deal with. It's one that can't be sorted by wearing hockey gloves at the recording studio mixing table. :j:

  2. Ok I got Firedeamon working where it will automatically restart the server if it closes.

    First:

Create a batch file and name it "arma3servercheck.bat" using notepad or notepad+.

    Place the following in it:

Then create your "server.bat" file using the launch parameters of your choosing.

Example (this is what we are using to run our ARMA 3 Wasteland server):

NOTE: Both of these files MUST be saved in the same location as your ARMA3.exe, otherwise you need to change the file directory to "arma3.exe" in each. Also note that if you are using this process you should have exit on the last line of the server.bat otherwise you will come back to a messy server with a lot of cmd windows open (depending on how many times your server shut down).

In FireDeamon create a service with the arma3servercheck.bat file and have it have a start-up time of 60000ms and a pre-launch delay of 60000ms. Also in the "Upon Program Exit:" Have it set to Restart the Program at 60000ms. All of those settings are overkill I am sure, but it makes it were every minute the process runs to see if arma3.exe is running, and if not starts it up. Hope this helps some people, and if anybody comes up with a better solution please let me know!

Thanks for this mate, seems to work great :)

  3. PLEASE........ Arma3 has nothing to do with it.

    You are the server admin...

You can decide who is playing on the server...

You decided to set the server public...

    You bought a alpha...

You are perhaps not a good server admin...

You try to play a alpha like a full game...

    You yes you...

Sorry, but I could not resist.

Yes, we decided to go public for the good of the community since there wasn't that many open servers running.

Indeed, we do decide who plays on the server. It's just that our admins got tired of kicking and banning people after a while. It should not have to be a full time job being an admin in a reasonably grown-up community.

Your alpha argument is ridiculous. Still, you're welcome to play on our server anytime and maybe you can give our admins some pointers.

  4. Yesterday I was playing a custom co-op mission with my squad mates on our server "XSYS Sweden", and we were oh so excited to finally get our hands on the game! We were having a blast with all the new toys and just watching the scenery and hearing the much improved sounds. After some tweaking we even got the new stance settings sorted and were able to make use of this while taking on the OPFOR AI. Everything was perfect and we were a really happy bunch.

Then we unlocked the server and let the pubs in...

I don't know if I'm getting old and cranky but what the hell is wrong with some people? We could not start a single game without someone teamkilling half of the team at the beginning or destroying our vehicles on purpose. Not mention the voip spamming and placing satchels that blew up our weapon crates.

And it's not like these people got bored after having played "normally" for a while and wanted to take a piss for fun. No, they got right to it after spawning in.

I fail to see the point in "playing" this great game like this. Of course there are a few rotten eggs for every online game but what we saw was 30 or more offenders displaying this behaviour during yesterday evening. Quite sickening to say the least. I wonder if they are 'imports' from the DayZ community or where are they coming from? It doesn't seem like the OFP-Armed Assault-ArmA 2 crowd, that's for sure.

Anyone else seeing the same thing online? I'm starting to think we are stupid for putting up a public server for people to enjoy...

  5. Hey wise ass, go try and purchase a game on bistore before you flap lip bud. There is an issue with checkout with every product.

    ---------- Post added at 08:17 ---------- Previous post was at 08:15 ----------

Your going to see this forum explode in 5 hours when no one can purchase the supporter edition.

I suggest you start treating your fellow forum members with respect.

Store issue or no store issue - name calling for no reason will most likely not benefit your case.

Good luck with your purchase of A3.

  6. I just wanted to say a big Thank You to the Hell in the Pacific devs!

I'm really enjoying this mod and so are the guys in my squad. Well done!! The attention to detail and the general feel of the HIP gameplay is outstanding:)

We have been running HIP on the [XSYS] Sweden dedicated server for the last couple of weeks. If anyone is interested in serious but friendly co-op games in the Pacific theater please drop by anytime

Your primary objective is to clear the village of all enemies. Secondary objective is to take out two weapon caches in the surroundings.

There may be civilians present so, as always, follow your ROE.
