    when hosted directly you get heavy stuttering on airfield, i guess its related to building missplacement, as it is still there when already on kamino fireringrange mission, played as officer and drove there by recon hq, when out and running around near the hill with the radiotower slowdowns to 5fps. 2.8

    Arma 3 Alpha crashing with Radeons

    i got HIS 7970 Turbo and no issues at all, having 80-120fps on ultra with 2.5km viewrange 1080p. so i think it´s your fault but not the one of BIS. may the processor is the bottleneck on your system? I7 2700k @ 4.6ghz supporting my 7970. @ burns: even run afterburner with activated osd and so on, even run 1150/1760mhz overclock really no single issue. i think allmost all probs here are mostly fault off local system or user, only rendering performance bug i know is the one with the water(setting viewdistance 5km+ and over water causes heavy gpu load). @ all some infos on my config: 13.3 b3 catalyst 2.3.0 afterburner(waiting for 3.0) in catalyst control center all settings stock may some of you try it this way, cause no probs at all here(dev+nondev)

    yup the vest gear thing is a dev problem, all fine in nondev. mission runs great, maybe change ifrits to hunter just to stop frequent crashes? or to be consequent, make the evo opfor until its fixed? just am idea, on dedi, 2.4 crashes instant(dev and nondev) due to sounds and many physx missbehaviours. mfg

    nice advice eggbeast, i´ve made the profile in a complete different location with advanced profiles flag, and it never alternates in it´s settings, so no overwriting seen, but i will have a look at it. thx done some testing , no change my params: -server -config=A3TestServer.cfg -profiles=d:\Games\A3\Server -nosound -cpucount=1 -nosplash have no idea anymore, server just don´t read profiles file. even when set on read only

    jep, so server constantly at 50fps , the ai will be much better. thats the initial thinking for a headless client, outsource ai processing from server to optimized client engine with no fps limit. when played local and the processor keeps the fps over 50fps(like in latest evo) ai skill max and accuracy 0.1 is challenging. my server load every time default profile for what reason i don´t know, but evo ai+50 server fps and stock accuracy setting is overkill. true aimbot ai with nearly no limited range.

    i always play commander, recon hq ftw, but also all clients reportet this issue over the day. all playing different classes with different vests. may related to latest dev build, but work keeps me away from testing non dev soon(ok can´t even play arma3 next days) setting up dedi non dev and wait for what the guys are saying. for some reason my dedi later the day don´t want to read the profiles file, so on pussy whatsoever difficulty, one shot aimbot ai ^^ can´t get a foot in second town. may you pm me dedi shortcut params and your xx.cfg and armaprofile files? double, triple and quad checked everything so i need some help from outside, as evo is the only mission with ai strenght profile setting ignoring behavior.

    nice work done on 2.3 with all the nice params! best rounds ever so far, with suicide ai and no respawn with my main squad, fighting them bit by bit down, and even public with weekend warriors and respawn 10min went quite well tonight with no more complains about aimbot ai. keep it up this way :) bugreport: vest don´t save loadout, not on ammo box, not flag and not recon hq. so you spawn with vest but without the gear in it.

    using following config: skillFriendly=0.30000001; skillEnemy=0.30000001; precisionFriendly=0.1; precisionEnemy=0.1; tested local with skillFriendly=1; skillEnemy=1; precisionFriendly=0.1; precisionEnemy=0.1; very enjoyable, but unplayable as every player will double the badguys and their ifrits, also definetly crash within minutes due to many ifrit explosions. seems that my server didn´t read the profile. about reinfdelay, with aimbot ai with 10 guys you will take at least 1-2 hours per town, camp rogain wasnt captured by over 20publics for about 4 hours on 1.8 on my dedi, due to aimbot ai. i watched them totally happy because of the 45 server fps all the time^^. so keep up the great work, and think about the masochists and easy gamer while adding parameters ;)

    i would support BigShots idea, it would be far more customizable and on low ai settings you could even use it as sandbox, recruit mission without scaring the shit out of newbies. mfg

    playing 2.1 on server, most of us barely get more then a 1-1 kd rate, ai snipes like hell. on airfield getting around a corner seeing an ai in safe mode, right klick for optics and boom im death. ai was around 150m away. own ai just can´t hit a barn as they were using the settings of the profile properly. fleeing captured enemy soldiers disappear if teammate get to near to them, then spawn 1-2min later at the same position again, but without being capturable again. good things about it is that it runs quite good, worst server fps around 45.

    playing since ofp days, played arma 1 warfare with super ai on and even arma 2 with super ai on with no really issues. gits evo on arma 2/oa were quite hard so no super ai in this mission but still managable in small groups. using dedicated server cfg trough -profiles flag. copied the one from how to thread here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147537-Tutorial-How-to-run-ArmA3-server-on-a-dedicated-server

    latest 2.0 version(downloaded about 15min ago) on dedicated server with ai setting 0.3 and precision 0.1(for testing) still 500+ one shot ai killer skillz. even killed serveral ah6 pilots with one shot. unplayable for smaller groups this way

    to the ai tweaking, hosted on non dedicated server the ai is dump as hell. hosted on dedicated server the ai snipes you even better then in 1.8 or 1.9 at 500m+. so may you adjust it a little more or skript in an ai parameter like in "urban conquest" from tvig0r0us.

    chopper reinforcements, we have aftrer 30min gameplay in 1.7 around 30-40 ka60 black full with divers hovering over water and doing nothing... may have a look at it 10min later server(dedicated) and all clients crash, while at helo hunt. killing one leads into prompt respawn so (counted) 16helos(yeah felt like 30 ;) ) are constantly on map, total overkill. server fps around 44-50fps.
  16. well only works if you have many simulations like in crysis 3, that are completetly indipendant from each other, so you can easely utilize 8 cores at its best. but in arma 3 the simulations depent on each other so 1 thread do all the syncing and rest gets just from time to time things to do, and so best bang for the buck is actually i3 dualcore from intel in arma 3.
  17. as answer to white: all cpus with slow frontend an cache suffer in arma 3. i would recommend you to buy an AMD FX 8350, or I5 3570 from intel. sounds lame i know but sooner or later you will see the fact. anandtech did quite nice benchmarks with should be made a sticky thread with maybe? they show quite nice where which cpu is expected to be performance wise. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2306247 on uq(ultra quality) you see the gab between amd and intel and phenom and Piledriver/fx

    mission has definetly a bug, getting freezes, crashes everytime someone or myself messing around with gear, was also a bug in 0.5 version, but just caused an messege. not a freeze like in 1.0. always happens in within 10 min.

    Great thanks for providing this mission , its nice to test Performance and even nicer to improve arma skills. Big fun with friends and quite fast for a usermade Mission. keep up the good work!

    that a gtx 680 with 2 gb and 4gb or hd5870 get all similar fps is due to its bandwith. just in case the cpu is not bottlenecking, the 256bit interface even on high clock speeds running gddr5 is just too small. thats why hd79xx/titan with 384bit interface and even gtx580/480 get in most cases best fps. and having 2 hd5870 or 2 gtx680(gtx690) doesnt double the bandwith, because in sli or crossfire gpus can´t share data good, because pcie connection then bottlenecks in a game like arma3. mfg

    this is because vsync and trible buffering is bugged in arma 3, so you have to do it every time you start arma to archive full gpu utilisation. i would recommend you to write it in the bug tracker. mfg

    Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

    2 hd5870 just suffer too strong from low bandwith so no way you even get near a 7970 in arma series, but they were nice cards 2 years ago. my hd7970 averages at 80fps(limited by msi afterburner), all max exept postfx off, postAA off, vsync off and viewdistance at 2,3km, objects at 880m. running fine with i7 4,6ghz and 2133mhz(effective) RAM.55-67fps Maxed out multiplayer(urban warfare001) stock mission settings, as host for around 8 player(including myself) i got 45min fps and at the end off mission around 30min fps. # in single player a big improvement over arma 2(Maxed out, 1080p) is done, can´t run like arma 3 does. multiplayer multiplayer just needs dedicated server, then it would run much faster. but you will see tha arma 3 as every arma game takes every drop off hardware it gets. standards for arma: intel processor, nothing has a high ipc like them in pc sector. radeon hd79xx card/geforce titan: arma 3 just sucks up bandwith and video Ram like a boss mfg
  24. the biggest increase in fps and smoothness will bring u a ssd. my advice: get a samsung ssd 830 128gb, cost around 100€/$ and will speed up fps in towns and so on about 100%. for me the gain was over 100% zargabad 7200rpm hdd: 25fps zargabad 830 ssd: 60fps Vsync all on 2700k@4,4ghz and 7970@1125/1575mhz the bigger and complexer the maps, and the less alpha tests are on screen,the more ur fps will increase. with much alpha tests(gras/trees/bushes) ur gfx card will limit fps, in that case i would set atoc and antialiasing off.
