I mean, any mods actually allows you to switch to the small iron sights for close range on top of the ACOG scopes instead of being on the magnified scope all the time? Maybe like on magnification for semi and iron sights for burst like in the G36 mod? Its almost unusable in close quarter situations. :( Just one additional question... how did you get the "Current Distance 50m" on your screen? -

Fps killing bushes!!!!

Got it! :) But one noticable improvement is that bushes don't lag up that much anymore. :) -
Ok, I've had it with these FPS killing bushes! Makes it impossible to aim near bushes or even aim AIs near bushes! Any mods that solves this and also blocks AI view when behind bush at the same time please? :(

ok, so the G36 is a problem solved! :) But, we don't get to use that much in SP, so, any solutions for the ACOG that we can use even in SP? :) -

THIS SIGHT ROCKS!!!!!! THATS EXACTLY WHAT A g36 SCOPE IS SUPPOSED TO DO!!! :) Does that affect the NWD scopefix mod? Can NWD integrate this into his scopefix? :( ** if those pics is the kind of picture quality you are getting ingame... I am drooling all over now.... -
Well, my M4/203 ACOG's scope marking came up the default BI one, not the NWD one with the red arrow. Is that what they are referring to as being broken? Seriously, I don't find the red arrow one very useful at all. The default USMC mildot scope marking allows me to at least gauge distance, not that its useful anyways since I have no hope of hitting anything more than 350m with anything other than m24.

I just did this mission and boy, that Ural was driving off so quickly I didn't even have a chance to stop it for the uniforms! So, I took down machete the traditional way. Lots of bullets, lots of saves, lots of injuries but I killed every single baddie from within the base itself. Cutscene starts exactly where I stood and everything went smoothly. Went on to the Pita assault. -
Does running mods such as XEH and all the fanciful things that comes with it affect game performance? (apart from the obvious visual enhancing ones)

Just one comment on the sound mod... vehicles such as the hummer and the trucks still has that high pitch sizzling sound as its main sound... has anyone heard vehicles make that kind of sound on the road??? even with turbo charger, its still a soft hissing sound periodically with a loud bassy hum as the main sound. not this wierd spaceship like sound. -

Thanks a lot! I installed the lowplants from Proper and then bingo, I am indeed able to walk through bushes and hide inside them now but wait... enemy AI still saw me from over 200m away with me pulling a single shot... how come? -
Thats wierd... I tested my M4/203 ingame with this mod and the scope came up nicely... no problems at all... what happened? Does the replacement mods affect the scopes changed by scopefix?

Does this low visual bush mod work with ArmA1? Having a VERY hard time with fps killing bushes. :( -
NICE MOD! In my SP games, I always abandon my M4 for an AK as early as possible as it was both effective and have a ton of ammo to pick up along the way, however, with this mod, my previous style of raining bullets on enemies while standing and on the move totally crapped! hahahaha, yes, its a lot more realistic now. AKs are no longer as super weapon as they used to be in the stock game. Good work. :) Time to stick to our more expensive M4s. :)

hahahhaa buddy, you are right! hahahahaha, some mods do make the game better. Can't stand the original pepper shooting sound, wonder where BI got those crappy sound from. I still think the MG sounds are a little overdone but as an ex-infantry soldier, I will say that the sounds in this mod, although more dynamic, are really a lot closer to realistic gun firing than the original ones. The original ones sound like BB guns. Thanks for the link! There are a lot of realism mods there that I would love to try but I am scared to hell about performance hit since my laptop really can't take a lot of game weight. :( In particular, the ballistic mod and the extended AI interests me. oh, also the rate of fire mod. Jesus, the game don't give much respect to the signature ROF difference between the AK and the M4. The M4 has a much higher ROF than the AK and the AK's low rate of fire is what gives it the signal hammering sound. Does the ROF mod fix this? In fact, the M4 has the highest ROF of the 3 main assault rifles; M4, AK, G36. Have you tried the ACE mod? its so darn big that I would expect it to be buggy as hell... -

Make sure you are playing the original version and not some pirated one. BI made the pirated one buggy as hell. You won't get any help if you support piracy. -

This is the first mod I have ever installed and yes do I love it! :) The reloading sound for all guns are much better, especially the G36 where the little springy sound of its cocking lever is extremely authentic (yes, I have used one for real before). The shooting echoes are slightly overdone but adds dynamism to the game and makes distant shooting sounds REALLY REALISTIC, especially the sound of snipers shooting you from a distance. Most of the sounds are really loud and bassy, all for that dynamic battle FX feel. The environment sound is also much better although sometimes the thunder comes on too much. Installation was easy and doesn't mess up our original install folder. Activation was simple and modular as promised with great detailed documentation. This is a professionally done piece of mod which we should actually pay some money for. :) Overall, with its level of customization, this is a no regret mod. :) 4.5/5! :) -

Read all the readme and documentation of this mod and it seems like a MUCH MUCH more comprehensive sound library than the original BIS one with extremely individualised and randomized sounds for everything like different calibre hits and environment changes. Does this increase the load on the game and hit performance? performance is my number 1 concern as I am running on a laptop. I can't wait to change the sounds in the original game, especially the firing sounds and bullet sonics. I was an infantry soldier once a long time ago and I can tell you guys for sure that real guns don't sound the way they do in the game. In fact, real guns fire with an uninteresting "pop". So, the ones in the game is nothing but bad and real gun sounds are also very uninteresting. Also, the reloading of different weapons should have different characteristic sounds but that's not the case in the game itself. Environmental sounds in the game is ok but it would be even more realistic if sound intensity and echoes are different in an open space vs a tight valley. Having VERY high hopes for this sound mod. :) -

ARMA 1 : beta patch 1.18.5278 RC (road to final) + feedback

4 hours into playing with the patch. Didn't solve my foreground texture problem neither did it create any new ones. In fact, it felt exactly like 1.14... didn't felt any changes at all.
