  1. Released it in another thread. Didn't want to hijack yours too much. Why a cronjob? Didn't want to edit the phpBB core files. Updates to the database are done trough the phpBB admin interface. That tool uses phpBB usergroups and custom profile fields to determine your player ID, your rank, etc.
  2. Sorry for highjacking this thread. But before opening a new one just to ask if ppl are intrested, I'll do it here. :) We've created a tool that reads the info from a phpBB database and generates the XML files. You could put that into a cron job and run it regulary. That's neat if you update your roster frequently. Anyone intrested in that? Will require initial setup once and just a few adjustments if you change stuff like ranks or else. But other than that it works like a charme. :)
  3. Hi IceBreakr, personally I'm very intrested in such an island. Please keep us updated. If you need someone to test it, count me in. If it's in beta I'll also discuss testing it in our community.
  4. I would say you switched from a 32-bit to a 64-bit system. As mint is a derivation of Ubuntu (and Debian) try sudo apt-get install ia32-libs That helped on my 64-bit developing VM. :)

Just FYI a member of Tier1ops.eu was at the talk yesterday. No extra info about the "hack" was revealed. :)

Neretva is a very famous river in history. It connected the persian/turkish/osman part of the world with the christian part. In 1555 the bridge 'Stari Most' was build to connect the muslim and christian part of Mostar (it's still the case to day). 1943 the axis planned an operation against the juguslavian guerilla lead by Tito who later became the president of juguslavia (his death lead to the destabilization of juguslavia and somehow to the bosnian war). EDIT: Damn you guys are fast. :) The 'bye' or 'may god be with you' stuff may indicate that the next 'hack' will reveal the full story. At least I hope so. :)

I think we better keep that programm running. Unless we can't decompile it somehow it'll show us the next hint/url at the given time. That other purpose would there be?

Sorry to say so, but that's bullshit! Domains are renewed after they run out. So if you payed the domain for 2 years, the renewal will be 2 years after your initial purchase/reg. So it's not by any means an indication that the owner changed. And if you say: They bought it, but they keep the old owners name in it, then it's not an update of the domain registry. The domain still belongs to the other guy unless it's updated in the DB. Ofc if the owner changes, the Database gets updated.

I was bringing up the Youtube idea. But after all I'm not so sure about that anymore. If it'll be youtube and the vids are prepared somehow, it would have been a heck of a planning time (videos are from 2006!). So I don't think there's anything in any frames or else. Maybe it's in the words, maybe it's nothing. Maybe all that was to leave us clueless and see what we will come up with after another 42 hrs. But the coincident that all three videos are there with those exact codes still makes me wonder. If that's not related, then it's a huge quite unrealistic coincident. :) AAN could be wrong or spreading missinformation on purpose. I think we need to keep focus on a possible code to break in there. Why pointing us to /bin/null/ ? Why is it /bin/null and not /dev/null? The jpeg there has no hidden info. I've done everything in PS I coud imagine. Searching for morse code in the pixels or else. Nothing. Seems very weired. As BIS guys are developers they might have had some crypto stuff in school/university. Come on you informatics guys, break the code! :)

Yes, that's the official admin interface for the CMS (Joomla) BIS uses for ArmA2.com

It was stated that the _4 has nothing to do with the quest. It was renamed by their CMS. And all files have exactly the same MD5 Hash so they're exactly equal (at least we can assume that 99%).
