    ArmA 2 site hacked

This? This rifle, initially known as the ASN prototype, had been developed for and submitted to the Russian Army trial contest, held in the early 1990s. This contest, known under the code name "Abakan" (a small city in Russia), was intended to develop the more effective replacement for the AK-74 assault rifles.

    ArmA 2 site hacked

From http://world.guns.ru/assault/rus/an-94-abakan-e.html The AN-94 assault rifle had been officially adopted by the Russian Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairsin 1994 as a possible replacement for the venerable Kalashnikov AK-74 series assault rifles.

    ArmA 2 site hacked

That was my first impression too.
  5. Now having played on both the FPDR and now the ArmaII version of this island, I have to say that the ArmaII version is by far the better. Nice work.
  6. A BIS dev posted in the FPDR thread that units sold were higher than DR. I can't find the exact quote though atm.
  7. Wasn't it 1.1 million sales across all platforms? At least thats what someone from codeshafters mentioned. Thats actually not very good across 3 platforms. My son has been telling me for the last several months ( with great amusement I might add ), that FPDR has been in the worst buys every month on some online xbox magazine thing he watches. One of the reasons RR is being produced is so that the bean counters and investors can try and recoup on the huge development cost invested in DR.
  8. Hmmm interesting. Maybe they've discovered oxygen and water signatures on a planet in another system. With 100 billion stars in our galaxy, a 100 billion galaxies and systems with planets appearing to be quite common, I think the chances that there isn't any more life out there is highly unlikely.

    ArmA2 Marmite?

Marmite batters your tastebuds into submission ( I think it's something devil excretes after a particularly heavy night drinking Newcastle Brown ), whereas Arma2 and it's expansions grow on you like a finely aquired taste for Whiskey ( Mmmmmmmm Whiskey ). Twiglets are the devils winnets.

    ArmA2 Marmite?

I've corrected your post as I just can't comprehend how someone can use Marmite and yummy in the same sentence. :).

    ArmA2 Marmite?

Marmit is the work of the Devil, whereas Arma2 is a work of genius. I don't see how you can possibly compare the two.
  12. A quote from Helios "We are in frequent communication with a range of non-serving and serving Marines as well as Military advisors. " But then Lenton admits it's one person in a Marine PR department. To be honest I never know what to believe from CM.
  13. #1 No they haven't. #2 Yup, your pretty much right there. It's going to be a.n.other shooter with pretty graphics, probably a half decent AI for which they have Templar to thank for the "inspiration" and that's about it. The consolers will like it because it'll be a bit different from the MW dross of this world. And it's the casual console players they are targeting as that is a huge market. PC users will get nothing different and I think most PC players will find it very mediocre with little longevity.

    Satisfying ArmA2's Appeite

Did you leave HT enabled? I can get my 920 to 4Ghz @ 1.31v core voltage, but had to disable HT to keep it stable.
  15. And he just had to comment though he wasn't "obliged" to and commented further after reading another comment of mine on here ( yes we know you read this thread from time to time, Mr Lenton and mob :)). My "friend" will remain anonymous however for all sorts of reasons, including he has a career to think about, which incidently won't include CM for too much longer. Again no suprise as it's no secret alot, if not most of their best talent has already moved onto pastures new. The putdown that Lenton came out with towards Templar quite suprised even cynical old me. I knew he wasn't flavour of the month over at CM, but to publicly undermine his work was just nasty. It wouldn't suprise me in the slightest if RR was so locked down, encrypted and nailed shut for file access because they didn't want anyone outside of CM to see for example the AI scripts, no not at all, in the slightest, really, not suprised whatsoever, at all.
  16. I knew that Reliance Big Entertainment ( the indian company ) had bought a 50% stake in Codeshafters earlier on in the year because they were reportedly short of money due to ( but not limited to ) several unperforming games, like FPDR for instance. I hadn't heard of that stake being sold on to anyone else though.I can't see that RR ( which is Codeshafters new console driven, 10 hour gameplay, scripted fps with a certain amount of dynamic secops to try an leverage some replayability so they can get the DLC cash cow out ( they hope ) ) is going to do that well with other due out major fps titles to compete with.
  17. But he did anyway. I wonder now how much of what my mate told me was true as seems to have struck a nerve. I'll be having a pint or 3 with him in a few weeks time when i'm back down that neck of the woods, so i'll try and glean a bit more. Edit: And yes as much as Lenton is attempting to play down any info over on the CM forums that "Bloke down the pub" is a CM employee.
  18. Indeed, I thought that was a particularly pathetic and childish move on cm's head moderator part.
  19. Weeeell, I kinda promised myself i'd stay out of this, buuuut from my source in cm ( btw i'm the guy who announced on the DR forums that cm would be dropping all support for DR long before Helios was cleared to "release it" ) has told me a few things about the new game and a bunch of other stuff: 1. The development budget for RR has been slashed and the team told to reuse whatever assets there are already available ( read re-skins and more "focused" gameplay ( or is that cut features )...ahem ;D). Expect a poor mans version of BFBFC2 et al. 2. Sion got demoted from producer to "creative director" to save some face. 3. The cm folk ( no matter what the public face has to say ) are/were really pissed at templar showing them up. I've been told that "narcissistic dickhead" was one term that was used, though I can't verify that and should be taken as heresay or opinion. 4.One of the reasons why there is no Mission Editor, refer to 3. There is no way they would want a better game made by enthusiasts building upon existing work. Maybe DLC but not decided yet. The "uncoupling" excuse was pure bullshit. On side notes and public information "Black" will departing cm after bodycount after a major internal bustup ( he's only sticking around because of contractual obligations ) and can't wait to leave ( from all accounts ). The Jumpgate mmo has bombed and is now shelfware. Turbine will take back the LOTR ip license from cm in less than 2 years ( something they can't wait to happen ). And yes my "source" is already looking for other jobs.

    Where/how/when to buy ARMA2:OA?

OA and Combined Operations are both now available on Steam.

    Where/how/when to buy ARMA2:OA?

I have it on order from Play.com and have just received an email that says:"Thank you for your recent Play.com order for Arma II: Operation Arrowhead We have recently been informed by the manufacturer of this product that the release date has been changed to 02-Jul-2010. We have updated this information on site and will endeavour to process your order in readiness to arrive with you on the release date. " Which means in reality it's going to be next week before my copy arrives. Does anyone know if a version from Sprocket will be compatible with my boxed ArmaII retail version?
  22. This game just gets better and better with everyday that passes.

Codemasters Expands For Nice New Shooter

I was thinking it be renamed to the "Delusions of Grandeur" engine which for me kinda sums up everything that is CM, it even shows on their forums. And that Black guy's comments on the new Bodycount ( yawn, that's going to be original isn't it? ) game, just reminds me of the verbal diarrhoea that Lenton spewed about that failed tactical shooter CM released and recently dropped.

Codemasters Expands For Nice New Shooter

That is something that should be underlined. CM's customer service is some of the worst i've ever experienced. "That game", highlighted just how bad it is.

    Dragon Rising has been released

Just ran the DR Ambush mission, 50% gpu load in the menus, 100% in the game itself. According to gpuz VDDC current was 42 amps and MVDDC current was 21 amps. That's on an ATI 4890, stock clocked, Catalyst 10.1, Win7 64bit.
