  1. anyone ever tried to implement rc helicopter radios into the game...i am extremely comfortable with the controls more so than a joystick, my fathers is a futaba 10-c and since he never flies his heli his radio sits here because it is used on a heli sim it links up to the pc via a usb adapter cable and windows will recognize it anyone heard of anyone doing this before or might i be the first one and have to figure it out all by my lonesome

    the one i seen..im not sure if it was for dcs but it may have been, the guy had cnc machined parts and every switch and knob was identical...level of detail was something to behold and captured the feeling of being in a purpose made simulator without the hydraulics of course...what really got me was his trackir settings and how the monitors were positioned perfectly overlapping the on screen stuff... i thought my father was crazy spending 3000 on his rc heli that hes now scared to fly because it costs too much

    ive seen some in pictures and vids here and there on youtube one guy had a multidisplay and even modeled the simpit over these displays, crazy stuff and no idea on how much they spent on it but im sure it wasnt cheap by any means

    its the same on pc along with no track ir even console fps typically run 85 minimum at the same time...pretty much a standard for all fps if you think about it

    i dont think low density grass would look to good at distance personally, i could see it doing more harm than good and people could still jack the setting up and get around it, why not introduce a mask onto the soldier that is laying behind grass, there are games that have done this and it works
  8. that troll must be atleast 500 lbs as much as you all have been feeding him. what cm has done is fraud, the openly lied about the game and even did so on the very box its packaged in...it is in no way the successor to the original and it would have been better recieved if they didnt use operation flashpoint in the name seriously would everyone be flaming the game as much as they are if it was just called dragon rising??? people would probably praise it but taking it to the level of calling it a sequel leaves some extremely big shoes to fill being that it has maybe 1/10th of the features of the original and doesnt capture any sense of being in a war just think if bis waited a while before release ofp elite and released it onto 360 instead standard xbox...there was what about 2 weeks between the release of the two?? would there be so many junky fps games on consoles to this day??.....how might have that have changed things...i bet people would still be playing it because people still play elite on the old box and it didnt seem to be a watered down pc port and i dont think DR is a watered down console port at all...i think its a watered down, rushed, unfinished game that ran into budget issues and got forced into release and pressure from upstairs to make it more arcade like to appeal to a larger community and ended up pissing off run n gunners and "military tacticians" alike

    ive got dr on 360 and ive played it on pc and i dont think its a console port...i think its a racing company making shooter games personally...the focus is utterly annoying how you cant look beyond the ugly grass in front of you to see the enemy 25-50m away shooting at you...the bugs i am looking past because that seems to be the norm with games these days so i will excuse those elements.. The fov is so tunneled you lose all sense of awareness of where your teammates are it is extremely hard to get a feel for where YOU are in relation to n,s,e,w because of this as well, i dont personally own arma2 because im building another rig but ive played it on a friends and this has never been a problem for me and it was never a problem in arma the only way to call out bearings is via binoculars so calling out specifics can be rather difficult...wish i could look at the compass and say 163 degrees left of the rock but instead it turns into too much mic chatter explaining something so simple - now couple that with the limited fov and bad focusing and it amplifies this problem i dont like the fact that wounded enemies can keep running after being shot in the thigh - not a lag problem because it happens in sp...unknown if its a bug mounted weapons on vehicles are impossible to use or remotely aim while moving...apparently vehicles dont have brakes until the engine is cut off, braking requires traction and almost all military vehicles have plenty of that, enemies can be extremely hard to spot do to the ultra high contrast, its so high that woodland marpat looks like dirty desert marpat...the game looks alot better at night because of this the menu is really nice, the music is different but gives a unique feel to the menu's lol, umm vehicles look pretty good, the flir is nice but not realistic, the sounds are good, the game is stable and easy on systems, it almost seems finished...i think it should have been delayed and given about 5 more months to make it complete

    the ai can pull of some impressive shots though once shot in the open...urban areas i stay away from all corners until a squad mate engages...i swear once they see you they have some sort of xray vision through the building and no the exact moment and place your head will pop out from behind the corner

  13. in dragon risings defense there are mods out now increasing ai accuracy and even modeling a morale system in...the game becomes much more enjoyable when your ai actually become lethal when successfully ambushing enemies...before it would just be a massive waste of ammo with them getting shot and you personally having to kill everything seems as though the people upstairs at cm limited what they let the devs do in terms of realism because they were after money by tapping into the arcade side of things...overall it feels rushed and watered down...mods will help it greatly but i dont know if its enough to save it...for mods you need a good community and they have definately turned away alot of people....pc version will get better but i feel bad for the console players

    is there any way to bring the eotech closer?.....i have a holosight on my ar and with them you are supposed to fix both eyes on target while looking through it with one, in game you are holding the gun out in front and while that gives a good feel of looking through a the aimpoint it is far off from what a holosight is like... seems like bringing the gun closer but without zooming the view would give it a better feel? any way to mod the sight?

    thats exactly what im talking about...i know the game can be heavily modified but i dont know how far it can go in relation to this...i think it would add more to the immersion if it looks more like the sights when used in person

    i know with mine when i pull the rifle up to aquire a target its like i dont see the rifle at all, playing around with it right now i notice that i faintly see the frame of the sight but it is heavily blurred because my eyes are focused on target only, its kinda like a ring that can just be moved onto target without obstructing anything except the view downward the 65mil ring is definately much larger in person than compared to in game in game feels like holding a gun in front of you

    im going to have to disagree that ofpdr was "made" for consoles, the control scheme is the only thing i see solely thought after for consoles, overall the game is screwed on console like a pc port, even picking fireteams you can see unselectable fireteams that could be selected on pc...it wasnt being made for consoles that screwed that game up it was the company making it
  19. what size power supply, the 5870 im looking at on there says it needs a minimum of 500w, but 750w isnt that much more to get and i dont know how much fans will eat up...one tower comes with 5 fans and a 750w power supply...money isnt really an issue as i have done most of my xmas shopping for the year already so the holidays shouldnt hurt me any...going to take the hd and dvd rom out of my current pc and use it there
  20. plan on building a pc to run arma2, side note is i plan on using my 47'' hdtv as the monitor so the max resolutions the game can achieve wont be needed the tv is 1080p i havent fooled around with computers for about 8-9 years, could anyone point me in the direction of what will be needed to atleast come close to maxing the settings at that resolution...btw i will most likely purchase off of newegg thank you
