  1. *UPDATE Probable Fix for your Problem! I have just finished going through this agonizing and frustrating experience myself. Problem: When in a vehicle's gunner seat (anywhere a weapon mount is) when I moved my mouse to the right slow or fast it would track perfectly. However when I moved to the left I had to move my mouse 5x to 10x farther to get the same movement as I did moving it to the right. I could not figure out what was causing the problem, I purchased a different mouse pad thinking that would fix the issue, it did not. I changed every sensitivity setting on my mouse (nothing worked) and ingame mouse settings. Then I had a thought, maybe it has something to do with my joystick. Sure enough my joystick was set up for AIM (UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT). When I moved my stick just slightly to the left (of center) and then moved my mouse right and left the problem was fixed. So it has something to do with the centering of my joystick and the fact it was bound for aiming in vehicles. It was screwing up my mouse. So if you are using your joystick for aiming in anyways, try what I did. Hold the stick a little off center (to the left) and then try your mouse movement. If your left hand movement is fixed then you know its got something to do with the centering of your joystick when its set up for aiming as well as your mouse ;-) Cheers!

    A dedicated gamer... gaming with disabilities

    Wow.. This story hits very close to home. I definitely wish this guy the best of luck and hope there is something that can be done to help him out. My Brother was in an accident about 13 years ago and is now c4 Quadriplegic (he has limited movement in his arms ((Very very limited)) with NO control of his hands and fingers) :(. However he still plays games (all the time) as thats one of the few things he can do. My prayers go out to all who suffer from disabilities and I hope understanding comes to those who have none!   4. @Madbull Thanks for being so understanding! I do have another question for you bud. I am trying to give all players the Artillery Menu in my mission (Domi 2.54) and I added the following code from the first post (in which you mention adding the menu to players). this addAction ["<t color=""#dddd00"">Artillery computer</t>", "R3F_ARTY_AND_LOG\R3F_ARTY\poste_commandement\ouvrir_dlg_saisie_mission.sqf", nil, 6, false, true, "", ""]; This works GREAT! Except for one problem! When a player dies and respawns at the flag or mobile headquarters (MHQ1 or MHQ2) the menu option is gone. It does not appear to be attached to the player when they have died once. If you leave the server (back to the lobby to choose your class) and rejoin the option is there, but again when you die it is gone. Is there an easy fix for this? I am not a programmer and my scripting is limited to editing others work (minor) as I'm on strong pain killers and its difficult at the best of times to keep my thoughts on what I am doing. Thank you again for any help you can offer! PS: I love this mod. Absolutely essential to have a realistic feeling to the game :D
  5. @Madbull Please don't look into it. This is Bosnia and You (Madbull) were correct, it does work. I did not realize it but I had copied and pasted the wrong code :(. Just finished testing it out and came here to post about it and seen that you had also replied Madbull I was using the setvariable code that is attached to the Artillery Computer so you cannot move it. My bad!:o:( Truly sorry for wasting your time and others on this :( Laz *I bow my head in shame* Sorry again!

Thanks for the reply ;-) I tried that and it worked on an ammo box that I had placed on the ground, however for some strange reason it did not work on the sandbag fortifications. so I am not sure what else I can do :( I've pm'd Madbull to see if there is anything else that can be done.     ArmA2:OA Beta Patch Build 77706

    I can confirm this bug x2 (a friend is also experiencing the nightvision/IR glitch). As soon as I rolled back to the previous patch everything was okay (no night vision being replaced by IR both in and out of vehicles (gunner.Tank, gunner.Apache) etc. the change log looked good though ;-) I am sure the nvg glitch will be fixed quickly though ;-)
  8. is there a way to stop an object from being liftable, transportable through the mission editor? I have made a little artillery base and used the Large Sandbags and Small hut etc. as a perimeter around the base and I want to make it so just those particular huts and sandbags cannot be picked up, moved or transported (so the base isn't dismantled) but I still want to be able to lift, move, transport the other ones that are stored at the main base for people to grab and use to set up farps, blockades etc. Is there a command or script that I can include on the init line of those objects I want locked through the mission editor? Thanks for anyhelp!

    ARMA 2 wont update to 108

    *Sorry* for resurrecting a dead thread but I ran across this issue tonight with a reinstall and could not remember what the fix was. Through searching the forum I came across the fix again (From when I experienced this awhile ago with the first install of Combined Ops from Sprocket (purchased it for a family member). You (Avengerzx) posted the fix for it and I wanted to say a quick Thanks ;-) I looked in the stickies but this fix wasn't in there.. I think it should be ;-) :D

    ArmA II & OA crash to desktop/blue screen

    Hi guys, I used to have that same problem but I fixed it.. and for the life of me I cannot remember how... Grrr... its frustrating me... some things I remember doing I will list below in case it may help. 1. Update all drivers for video, sound, keyboard/mouse hardware. 2. Update to latest version of the game. 3. Download and run Advanced System Care 3 (free Edition) from iObit and run all the utilities for it (they work great). http://www.iobit.com/ 4. Open up device manager and disable/remove any left over junk in there (in Device Manager click on the "View" menu and choose "Show Hidden Devices" and get rid of any garbage in there). 5. If you don't already, start participating in the Beta Test Program. Its free and easy for anyone who wants to help squash bugs and reap the benefits of sometimes major improvements in performance and stability in the game. New beta patches that can improve the game and add new features can be out for weeks (maybe months) before they are released as final versions to general public. Visit the Beta Forum HERE! and start reaping the benefits now if you haven't already!!! 6. If you are running a Steam Version of the game, Verify the integrity of the game files. That can help fix some common problems people experience. Directions on how to do that are very easy and straight forward. - Open Steam (start the program) - Right Click on the game in your Steam Library and choose "Properties" - Click on the "Local Files" menu tab then click on the button "Verify Integrity Of Game Cache". - Let it run through and make sure all of your game files are fine and fix any that are in bad shape. 7. The last thing I can recommend doing is downloading one other program from the iObit website (talked about earlier by me) and grab the program called "Game Booster 2". - Incase you have never heard of it or just never used it before it can be something you are very happy to have and run or a pain in the butt. LoL More often then not, its a happy thing! That program will shut down everything you don't need running to play your game (sometimes it shuts down to many things though) so do a little research into what you are turning off before you do so (saves you some possible grief) and you could be enjoying an improvement in your Frame rate of 2-40 frames per second depending on your computer hardware and operating system. I've used the previous version of this program and this version since it was in beta and found it to be very useful. I've shared it with all my friends and those who play Arma II and OA on Mediocre Computers have gone from barely playable frame rates to smooth and playable frame rates in many cases! Don't take my word for it though, try it out and you can be the person bragging about it to your friends ;-) Well guys, thats all I have.     OA - From Hell

    Hmm... I don't recall that mission. Unfortunately I some how managed to shift+delete the folder containing my saves for missions :( when I was deleting some garbage that had piled up. Is that mission in Zargabad? I ask because most missions in that city slow my pc down considerably (to a point of lag/stutter) depending on whats happening. Something to keep in mind. I will try to find that mission now and report back on my findings! Cheers.
  12. yup it could! I wonder if its more of an issue with Windows 7 64bit and how it locks up with device driver issues. hmm... Anyhow I'm glad to see you fixed the issue and have it all working again! Cheers.
  13. Same thing used to happen to me until I disabled "Windows Slideshow" under device manager. It turned out to be a conflict with windows slideshow and some hardware of mine (logitech g15 ver 1, logitech g13). Once I disabled that I have NEVER had that same problem happen again! Cheers

    Trakir5 software update

    yup, I experienced the same problem when I upgraded. F-Keys F7-F12 became unavailable in Arma II/OA/CO. I went into the software and rebound the F-keys for pause, precision etc. to different keys so Track IR wasn't using them. Then I Loaded up Arma II/OA/CO and the darn F-keys wouldn't work. I spent a couple hours trying different things and I finally gave up. I rolled back to Track IR 5.0b final as the version to use. Hopefully they fix that in the next beta release. Cheers Lazerath

    DLC-suggestion PJ- evacuation

    I think this is an absolutely fantastic Idea!!! The ability to "Not leave a soldier behind" by being able to medivac your injured/dead would be a fantastic feature. This would truly add to the games already incredible immersion by a factor of 10 imho. Great Idea with endless possibilities!!!

    ARMA 2 (OA) : DLC discussion thread

    I am having the same problem through steam. I purchased the DLC and its not showing up in steam and downloaded nothing. I have confirmation emails from steam that its paid for but nothin :( Checked the steam Arma II Operation Arrowhead folder to see if its there anywhere and simply not loading (maybe I needed to add it to the game startup) but its not there either :( ***EDIT*** I shut down steam completely and waited 10 minutes and started it back up. Low and behold it appeared in my Library list for me to install :D Yay! See ya.. off to play!

    ARMA 2: OA Beta 72716 is up

    They may not look into it but I think its still useful to post it here as others who are running this beta patch will most likely run into the same problem. Therefore they will be able to see (by reading my previous post) that its a conflict with the beta patch and domination for what ever reason. As too whats causing the conflict whether its code incompatibility on the Domination side or possible error in the beta patch code I am unsure. However, if it is indeed a problem with the beta patch code, its good for BIS to know about this because it could cause problems with other peoples mods etc. as well which would need to be addressed by BIS. Thanks for your time and replies guys/gals and happy camping! LoL

    ARMA 2: OA Beta 72716 is up

    Quick bug report on this beta patch. win 7 64bit Steam version Combined Ops Map: takistan Domination Bug: Vehicle/chopper repair pads do not work anymore with this beta patch using Steam. We tested this with 10 people on our server, some running steam, some running disc version and some running digital download from another company (non-steam). Everyone running the steam version or digital download version of the game (combined ops) had the same problem as me (not able to repair/rearm/refuel their vehicles/helo's). However, those who run the game as a boxed (disc) version did not have the same problem. It worked no problems at all, the messages popped up on the screen for them saying what was being reloaded etc. I've not experienced this bug since I started running the beta patches. With out the beta patches this same bug affected me and others on our server who were running steam/digital download versions of the game. As soon as we used the first beta patches the problem went away. Now it appears to be back with this particular beta version. We are rolling back to an older beta patch now.

    co30 DominationA2! One Team

    Hi guys, I am hoping someone can answer this question for me as I've been unable to find the answer. Since version 2.17 we are not able to rebuild our chopper support building, wreck repair building, jet service building and the vehicle service building. We are using version 2.21 currently on our server and we are still unsure how to make this feature work again. Was that ability dropped from Domi2 or do I need to enable it in the code somewhere? Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Laz

    Hi folks. I need some help with the domination recruiting ai scripts. I want to add a second and third place for people to recruit ai but I am not very versed in Arma2 Scripting. Would I simply change the following code in x_addsoldier.sqf: _unit = d_grp_caller createUnit [_ai_side_unit, position AISPAWN, [], 0, "FORM"]; to the following: _unit = d_grp_caller createUnit [_ai_side_unit, position [AISPAWN, AISPAWN2, AISPAWN3], [], 0, "FORM"]; Then copy the marker Xeno uses for AISPAWN to the new positions and change their names to AISPAWN2 and AISPAWN3 respectively? Thanks in advance for any help I am given on this.

    Yup.. its because you are missing one of the ace updates. Update your ace and the problem is solved ;-). I ended up having to do the update through the web client as the option 2 did not update the last couple of patches they released for some reason. however, on the main link (web client) I chose install/update and clicked on execute and all has been well again! Cheers :D
