Seconded. I shoot very well on the move irl, probably better than when I'm standing still. Not so in ARMA.

Just being stuck when switching weapons. Or worse, when trying to change gear. I've had my own character get stuck in the pistol bug that's usually reserved for AI. Getting caught in mid grenade animation and not being able to do a thing about it.

There are bigger problems with the animation system than just the movements.

So it just has to become like every other game to be popular. Yawn.

I'd settle for Somali pirates if it wouldn't be deemed racist to set a game there.

I wouldn't say there is any real difference between telescopic and retractable. If you want to nit pick, then the stock like you'll find on the UZI and MP5 is what I'd call retractable, as in when it's at its smallest size it's unusable. I don't notice any difference when shooting with a collapsible versus a fixed, but some people don't like the inevitable amount of wiggle you encounter.

I pirated their Far Cry 2, then promptly purchased it. No regrets.

Sounds good. There is nothing worse than that awkward pause after standing up and before running. Especially under fire.

If anything it helps my elitism. Now I've got an air of smugness not only over those who play BF and COD but also over those who play ARMA with crosshairs and third person. You psychos who play with no map markers are one up on me.

There are a lot of times where I didn't want to deal with ARMAs "realistic hassles" and I'd plop down for some BF2. They have their place. I find I'm needing it less and less. I'm sure I will end up with BF3 regardless. COD has never appealed to me.
