Thanks, but I'll rather wait for the Czech Eurogamer. IIRC they gave DR 4/10 and everybody called them biased. Then the game came out...Don't forget why the gave it 4/10. It was because Jonáš thought it was too difficult and he couldn't get past 5th level.
Jonáš claimed it was just a problem of review version, in the second review of final version it got 8/10, IIRC.

btw: Does anyone have some sales numbers of ArmA 2? At least approximative?
-
Well, previews are rarely critical (ArmA previews included). Especially early previews of pre-alpha versions.
-
Well, the fact that running animation looks better than ArmA's or DR's one doesn't mean it must be the same like BF gameplay wise. Actually, it looks better than I expected.
Article talks about more mainstream approach, but doesn't mention anything serious. Healing system change isn't such a big step from DR, autoaim can be turned off...I would wait to actual fluent gameplay before final judgement, but as I know this community, this game is already burried 2m below the ground and it would be even if it looked 350% better.

Two first INGAME (yes, Tim Browne confirmed this) screens...

I'm so sure it was "Operation Flashpoint 3" there before... I must remember wrong or they changed it.You remember it wrong:). It's been OFP:RR from the beginning...
-
Small offtopic, cause I'm a bit tired of the elitism of this community and animosity and disregard for different genres and people enjoying them...
Guys, admit it, ArmA and OFP:CWC are just games...more realistic than Dragon Rising, but still games. you are not "warriors" when you play ArmA, you are just gamers playing with virtual toys.
The fact you like certain genre of game doesn't make you better, more mature or more inteligent than someone who likes different genre (even if it's CoD). Actually, I think many people sticking with very complex games like ArmA are kids and teenagers, cause lot of older people just don't have a time for these time consuming games.
I see it on myself. When I was in the high school, we all spent lot of hours in the first OFP. Now me and my friends just don't have a time and patience, many of us have families and while I still enjoy more complex games, I'm almost alone. Simply, the older we are, the more arcade and less time consuming games we play, opposite progress is very rare (at least when considering normal people, not nolife nerds living with mom).

Does it require two people to drive and shoot from a tank in DR or does it only need one person. It requires 3 people in ideal case, pretty much like in OFP/ArmA games.

hope theres planes on this oneNo, they are not.
u also get a sa80 woohooNo, you won't.

Most of the positive reviews are dated before release during during the target-render, fake screenshot days.Complete nonsense.
-
I thought they weren't far-enough yet to process/view in-game footageI think I've read that CM showed some in-game stuff to few people, it's just not yet ready for showing to public.
-
Yes, the entity limit in Dragon Rising was increased shortly after release. But I thought we are talking about entity limit in Red River...
-
Did I see correctly that they only increased the entity cap to 80 :eek:If I'm right, this is just some BS made up in this thread. I haven't heard anything official about entity limits.
-
I don't think you play as US Army, where was it stated? Maybe it's just some misinterpretation made by magazines...
-
I thought it was the same, only this time they 'tweaked the core engine' for a completely new and revolutionary experience...
Lets hope they can get the driving bit of the game right this time, the engine is afterall designed for that.
OFP:RR will run on variation of EGO 2 engine (used in F1 2010 and Dirt 3), that should be somehow suited for FPS needs.

DM: That Dynamo's statement was completely false and I'm sure you know that. So why "LOL"?
---------- Post added at 01:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:29 PM ----------
Tonci87: I follow OFP:DR for a long time now and I saw many videos from presentations. There were lots of videos (from 2008) that consisted from commented gameplay. And that gameplay, although buggy, looked much better than final game.
---------- Post added at 01:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:32 PM ----------
By the way, if we talk about that video from Nazul's quote, I agree it's prerendered. But in general, many pre-release videos are pure gameplay. I thought we talk about entire templar's post, there were two videos, on prerendered, one gameplay.
-
Shadow, Dynamo: Did you see that videos? Did you see all those gameplay parts of presentations 2 years ago? We don't talk about prerendered trailers, we talk about 100% pure gameplay, that looked much better in alpha stage than in final stage.
Dynamo;1565157']...none of the pre-release videos were "in game"...Nonsense. Don't talk about things you don't know absolutely nothing about.

...as far as I can tell, bushes and grass has absolutely no effect on the AI in DR...I'm not sure about bushes. For example in the beggining of that "monastery mission", there are some APC's, or whatever, and they clearly can't see you through bushes. But if you leave "bushcover" they start to shoot on you immediately.

With games, especially 1st person shooters, above 80 fps it becomes completely fluent to me. Still if framerate changes between 80 and say 150 fast, you can still see a differenct. What kind of monitor do you have?
Are you aware of the fact that most LCD's have 60Hz refresh rate, so you can't see more than 60fps?

I must say, RR doesn't look that bad...
