Does it happen on all maps? or just certain ones, very interesting issue, is there any sort of pre-warning you get? Sometimes in the VA, I start to get a sort of shimmer around the characters, it looks like a camera having trouble focusing and on the odd occasion it will manifest in the game.

Bad examples of roads to compare as those are constructed from Tarmacadam which has a semi glossy/smooth surface in between the size of grain used in its construction , I live in Thailand where we have strong sunlight in abundance, and have both concrete and dirt roads outside of my house, and not once have I ever seen it "shine" or have any sort of sheen, other than when it's been raining and then the sun comes out. Rough Concrete structures rarely shine either unless they have been given a smooth coat where sunlight can naturally reflect off the almost flat surface, It all comes down to what would reflect natural light better, tarred roads do, hence why get that optical illusion that the road is wet, when it isn't, it's how the light bends to reflect the light, concrete roads dont, dirt roads don't, as there's very few objects that would cause the light to reflect off them. Granite reflects the sun well, due to the natural crystals. -
How do i get friendly ai aircraft to attack enemy???
road runner replied to gman2900's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Are you using any of the support modules? for destroying MBT's and AFV's I seem to recall you have to designate these with a laser designator for the AI to successfully engage, same with Choppers. Once you call in the support, it gives you a list of guided or unguided munitions, depending on what you've used as the default CAS aircraft, will depend on what ordnance it will drop, -
What's your system specs, what mods are you running ? degraded graphics? bold statement to make, the majority have seen no significant frame rate drop, and have praised the new "Splendid" upgrade but you are confident to blame the new graphics settings? You're not really helping the Devs out at all, as the lack of details you provide it could be a dozen different reasons from simple defragging your HDD, to outdated GPU drivers, to the upgrade itself.

The custom load outs are stored there's no need to start messing about with something you can possibly erase by mistake rendering your whole VA system, which then has the knock on effect of effecting EDEN as well. instead of scrolling like hell to find the one you need, perhaps deleting the ones you don't need would be better? :D

Looks like good old Eden Editor.. creating bases etc is so much quicker with EDEN, you get to see the results in real time. -
when are we likely to see the icons for addons/DLCs back up and running? the VA looks "bland" without them :D

There seems to be a distinct lack of sky in my download.. nothing much changes with the time. It's fine if you DONT use the addon for the new light settings for CUPS by metalcraze, and use default. -

But Jimmy, that's actually quite representative of real life, Altis and Stratis, two Mediterranean Islands, where sunshine is what? at least 9 months of the year, 12-14 hours a day, and is a naturally bright place given the type of housing and their typically whitewashed exteriors, they're bound to be more vibrant and reflect natural light better, compared to a typical Eastern European country town or City, where historically they've always been drab in Nature, but don't seem to be as vibrant in the summer months, and the natural weather is nowhere near that of the Med. The Current lighting was designed around Stratis and Altis, so obviously they're going to look a lot better than any other ported and much older maps from other ARMA's. If I want to see Chernerus look better, then I'd fire up Arma 2 :D -

Which screen shot are you basing these comments on? if it's the one above your post, that's not really the best one to display the new splendid shaders and wow, just wow, your closing sentence is a sure fire way of kicking the BiS team in the teeth. It actually sounds like you don't even have the Dev Build to make these comments, otherwise I doubt you'd say what you just did. Reshade was okay, a bit too high in contrast and colour for my liking, no natural balanced colours even with all the different LUT's -

You might want to adjust your jersey barriers on the track to the main ECP, it looks like the bad guy might still have a direct line of sight to the gate, they still look as if he could drive at speed through ;) -
How do we get the custom "DLC" icons for addons we create back?

I've spent many a day and night on FOB's and COP's in Iraq over the past 12 years, so yeah a few but it means extra clutter, putting sandbags or HESCO around tented accommodation and Generators, serves several purposes, it minimises damage if they're close to an impact area, and secondly, it limits the direction and distance of frag, IF they're directly hit themselves. Put small jersey barriers on any length of strait road on the lead to the FOB/Site to create a Chicane to slow down potential SVBIED's and also they're natural traffic calming measures and give the guys on the gate a bot more protection from speeding vehicles. Most of the Rig Locations I've been on, building your main entry point on natural curves in the road is also smart, as it's a natural traffic calming measure. Rotate or move your 25M Range away from the Flight Line as well, Helo's don't take too kindly to having stray rounds and ricochets landing near them. I had a contact outside Kalsu FOB in Iraq back in 2007, and we fired back in the general direction of the bad guys, which unfortunately was also in line of sight of the flight line, which we didn't know or realise about, till I got to FOB Scania and was asked to go and see the OIC of their TOC. Seems several rounds from our wagons landed on the flight line, no damage caused, but it scared the fuck out of the POGUES !! When I called the Kalsu TOC, the female Captain there said don't worry, no harm was done they seen the contact happening on their "Eagle Eye" worst part was, it was a Blue on White, one of their guys had an ND (Negligent discharge) with a SAW and we thought it was bad guys.. Just as well my guys were shit shots!! :D The only reason we managed to reach the flight line too which was over 1000M's away from the MSR, was my gunner fell off his pedestal and fire a burst of 20 rounds into the air!! hahahahaha
