Don't judge the game on the campaign or single missions, the main element of the game is the community side of things. Get yourself in a squad/clan and have a game online, that's where the real fun is at. I don't know many people who enjoyed the campaign.

Ah, I didn't even realize I didn't need the disc, I assumed it was still in my drive when I was playing it before, then I opened it and my Dragonage disc was in there, thanks for the help guys.

If you go to this link http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-oa_en.html it says that a demo is coming soon, how soon do you think it will be before we can test this beast?

Am I the only one who doesn't know what 'OnLive' is?
Never mind, just Googled it. Seems like a pretty good idea but I think the people who own OnLive would hate to have ArmA II on there, the amount they would have to spend on the equipment haha.

Title says it all, I want my ArmA II to be on my Steam games, not just the shortcut though. So if my ArmA II disc ever breaks I can just download it off Steam, thanks. :)

I think it would be a cool effect if the colour faded when you get hit or when bullets hit near you, to kinda express the paleness of someones face when they are scared, so the colour fades, unrealistic I know but it would be a nice notification of getting hit without having to look down at your body, any agreements on this?

. Noone wants another WWII cloneWouldn't call a WWII version of ArmA a WWII clone, because the game is so much different. It's like saying that if you fight Russians in CoD then ArmA II is a clone of CoD.

It's because when you're zoomed in it's not directly related to where the cross hair is, think about it. The crosshair is in the direct center of the screen, but the player holds the gun slightly to his right hand side, and the iron sights which the crosshair is based off are slightly higher than the barrel, just use actual iron sights or get ACE2 and use CQB sights. :)

I got a nice FPS boost, kinda helps for when it comes to clan/squad matches because I'm usually 'that' guy with the low FPS, nice for a change. Clearer scenery as well I noticed.

I had the exact same problem a while back, someone gave me a fix for it but I can't remember what the fix was. Someone will answer with one soon I hope.

If you have an Nvidia card you can force Vsync on in the control panel :)

Hey guys, some of you may have recently seen my thread entitled "My FPS troubles". Well I looked everywhere looking for performance tweaks for ArmA II but there was one thing I overlooked and that was updating my graphics card drivers. I downloaded the newest ones and I have a really nice performance boost of 7-8 fps, not to mention the scenery looking clearer. The newest ones for my card (9800GT) are 197.45. I seriously recommend downloading these if you haven't yet as it's a great boost and I see a lot of people complaining about FPS issues. These may have been posted already but this is also a kinda review so, yeah. :)

I want to spend as much money as I can on Operation Arrowhead, but I can't buy online so I will have to get it from Gamestation. I didn't buy ArmA II as soon as it came out because I needed to upgrade it a lot, but when I did buy it the store clerk guy told me I was probably the only person in my town who has bought the game, I don't think anybody knows what the hell it is in my town, apart from my friend who I always tell him about clan matches I've had.

The 3rd one you mentioned happens to me quite often, I think it's based on what key you were pressing when you got shot/killed/knocked out.

Thanks W0lle, and @EDcase I usually play on 1280x960 but recently tried 1650x? (can't remember the second res factor) it ran OK and looked fantastic, I will edit my config because I've found a few tweaks and a noBlur+noBloom mod, thanks guys.

I'm not exactly computer handy but I'm really annoyed about one thing. When I came to buying the parts for the computer I didn't know what was good and what was a load of junk. So my friend who claims to be a computer know-it all writes a list of all the best parts I could get within my budget. I get all the ones he writes down and I had 75 pounds left afterwards so I assumed I had hit a really good deal. That 75 pound could of went towards a better processor, I hate that guy sometimes. Thanks anyway guys, I'll try some performance tweaks which some people have been doing.

May I ask what higher spec games you have ran on your computer because I'm having trouble thinking of any.

He said his computer said he has two of the same processor though, so wouldn't that make it not be a choke point with him having two? (I know nothing about computers.)

OK, I want to find out whether I should be getting more FPS than what I am, I get around 20 FPS with all settings on medium and view distance at about 1500. Here are my system specs.
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 (64bit)
Pentium DuelCore CPU E5200 @2.5ghz
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9800gt
150GB HDD
Any thoughts on whether I should be getting a higher FPS?
According to my computer I have two of the same 2.5ghz cpu. Does it mean that each core is 2.5ghz?

OK, before anybody directs me to an addon pack with ready made faces, that's not what I want. I've been looking for a tutorial on how to create your own custom faces and found nothing, I've found templates and stuff but no step by step guide. If anybody knows how to do it or knows of a tutorial could you please give me the link or a guide, thanks.

You should apply for GOL -Guerrillas of Liberation clan/squad. While I was with them I learned a shed load of tactics including ROE, formations and assault & retreat tactics, they will show you the ropes really well.
