  1. More fixes;

    oh i forget 1.. (lol dam it was a good one too) Fix my alzeimers or release a patch! edit;; -Damage to unit caused by fire. i just spend 10 mins trying to kill myself but i cant! Nor can i quit the game, i must "save" or alt-tab to taskmanager & kill process! it is friggin crazy idea. Plus whilst testing within the editor it sometimes saves when u hit suspend! (like i dont want my pc with 20gigs of unwanted saves!)

    -The option to "QUIT" the game!!!!!!!!! ooh soo annoying is this "Suspend" option.

    Grass had serious fps impact back in Arma1. But I can't with the 60141 beta say that this impact is still here. A few betas back, the impact was gross. So, if grass is no longer a performance concern, is it really needed to have it user controllable even in mainstream coop games? Wouldn't it be better if all got the same?

    Grass is a big problem against AI only when they are on a hill, and we try to take that hill. When on a hill, your basically out of options. If they are not on a hill and they shoot at you and you can't see shit, you can at least outmaneuver them. Not being able to see your enemy is a valid problem in real life. During the Vietnam war, soldiers could only shoot into bushes that moved, puffs of smoke, or flashes - no enemy to be seen. Often, not always naturally.

    Edit: in Arma2 that puff is often very visible. Too visible. But makes up for missing flash, maybe?

    Yes, I'm also annoyed with how AI will fire accurate rounds through grass instead of in some general direction where hitting was based on luck. But if you lower their skill and accuracy, they will miss lots of shots and you might get to cover. But instead of trying to shoot back from that position, we've been successful on flanking them. Pop tons of smoke and flank. When you get to a better position where grass is not a problem anymore, engage. Also they are very focused on watching your old position.

    But hills? Oh my God you have no idea how much I hate them :)

    Yeah i agree with the grass & the hills.(giv me more nades)!. Sometimes makes me wonder if AI can see thru the grass! can they?

    And all players should have the same, it would be unreal if you turned your grass off.. [WTH] not too mention an advantage.

    And the hills, how in hell do they know your exact (almost) position? no matter how quiet, they still seem to be looking @ you before you can even be seen :eek: And bullets fly overhead before your head is in vision of AI, being blocked by the hill.

    Im scared of hills ;)


  2. it seems missions with respawn encourage immaturity! like "hey i will fly my plane into your base, it dont matter cos i will respawn"! :(

    Perhaps only have team respawn (if i can call it that), to limit resources. eg; If there is a 12 man squad & 1 dies then it is an 11 man squad (ah wont work if all players are real ppl) and you can respawn as another player, onmly if there is AI..

    Otherwise the best thing to do that i can think of is make a 5 minute timeout if you die, before being given the chance of respawn. then players will take it more serious because they dont want to have to sit it out and wait if they die.

    So are you saying you can easily see a ghillie prone in the grass @ 500m??

    While you are lookin at him, or while you are moving and looking around! There is a difference. imo they hide very well.

    Fyi so do i, (and i was only reffering to A2 on 360) , i play the 360 for a quik bang, that is all, A2 i play on PC cause its an epic huge game. And after seeing Far Cry, OFP DR & just having read about COD modern 2 it is becoming limited as to what it can handle these days. If u want to play A2 for all its worth then imo play it on PC, you wont get the beauty of A2 into a tiny old box brother :cool:

    Also just read that microsft banned over 1 million users on xbox live! its an overly policed & priced console & an absolute ripp off to purchase anything online (stuff created by users, microsoft will charge u for it, this is why "LIVE" is a joke, and why i have returned to the PC for the beauty of epic sandboxness!). So even if it was put on xbox, the money hungry buggers will charge you for mods that are free for the PC, if they were to be available. So why would you want to try justify paying dollars for something inferior!

    OFPDR may not be the game but the game is half the game that ppl wanted , be careful what you wish for , as i can see them releasing the editor in the future for the console , maybe they are giving bohemia a chance to release there game with a editor before codies does..

    -Aim or Recticle needs to be aligned (when looking without sights the aim recticle is much higher than it is when looking through the sights)

    -Guard Towers, stop AI from being able to go prone while inside a confined space such as towers! as they go prone they lay down through the object, head & feet poking out.. This is a very sad problem which has been in affect since the original OFP release, time to fix hey ... (either make towers bigger which would look silly and take too much time) Add prevent prone command!

    Grenades The hand grenade "toss" action is so primitive, we need to see where we are throwing it! like in most other games or even as in life, you can throw at an area! with the current situation you have to look at the ground to do a short 20metre toss wth.. Uber dodgey!

  7. mod folders;

    lets say here is your game path; C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2

    Now inside the ArmA 2 folder, lets say your mod is called "JTD" your mod folder should look like this; @JTD then inside that folder should be another folder called Addons, place the JTD mod addons inside there. (and if there is a "KEY" addon file it goes inside the KEYS folder :)

    Now use the A2 launcher, it will detect the new mod folder automatically. Best tool, makes it all very sexii :yay:

    Love the Quad, but am extremely confused that you say you can port 3D models from one game to another yet you have no idea how to RESIZE AN IMAGE :butbut: (omfg)


  9. Hey mate,

    I am the Author of those pretty stupid Huge battles lol, and it's actually very simple. Create just One Blufor group, and give them One waypoint to "move" pretty far ahead of them.

    Hold shift and click one of the guys in that group, and it will select all the men in that group. Then press Ctrl+c, to copy them. Press Ctrl+V to paste where you want, and repeat the exact sme for the opposite side, so that they are charging into eachother.

    You can then add jets and helo's and fixed machine guns etc to add more to the battle. It's also worth adding a little fog so you can get a higher framerate.

    Any questions, just ask and loads of people will help :)

    I just tried to watch one, its was so dark i couldnt see anything.

    have you made any large missions available for download?


  10. imo the 360 is a waste of time, its getting out dated, how many years old now!? falling behind the eightball of technology or not! :confused:

    Trying to put such a huge game onto xbox would be a waste of time (with the current xbox anyway.. wheres xbox 2?) it would be like ramming an elephant into a mini :rolleyes:

    Plus what about the keys, a2 uses every bloody key on the board (ah research; xbox can hav KB!)

    After seeing how pathetic & dull ofp dr looks on console (no doubt cos of performance lacking), i can only imagine a2 will look much worse, and the amount of effort that would go into it would be a waste of time financially.

    This game needs a far superior console to run it, cutting it down to size just wont be as epic! but @ the end of the day its not my decision :p

    My theory is that its all in Game Booster's coding. Yes, I have this program and I dont think its a virus, just something we techies call "false positives". Because of what booster does- messes with processes and shuts them down - antivirus software probably think its doing something bad.

    Note: Gamebooster is hosted on download.com as well as major geeks. For this reason, as well as me never experiencing adware from it, I think its clean. ;)

  12. -The steering of vehicles changed, not having to turn the wheel back the opposite direction so much when you want to straighten up. (realisticly vehicles semi-straighten themselves moving forward under acceleration, making for less turning!)

    -Boats that continue accelerating while turning. (currently power cuts when you turn. (& more boats :p)

    -AI with guns on backs when set to "safe" or "careless" (Like i remeber from original Ofp)

    -Basic camera script put back into the editor. (for SP missions) Important for mission makers for a quik cutscene!

    -The ability to set sight or view distance on AI units. (short, medium, long!) So some units will detect you from far while others may not. adds more randomness to missions. (i dont think the current "skill" adjustment setting is enough... but i shouldnt complain as there are still so many ways to manipulate AI ;))

    -When looking at your Map & mission objectives etc, if you hit a link in the briefing to goto a marker on your map it centres behind the tasks/notes window making it useless. It needs to be positioned lower to the left centre of screen. (or is this only happening on my 9yr old monitor!? non lcd)

    -Motorbikes to handle a bit more like real motorbikes, and more power!

    -The ability to lean without having a weapon! (civis cant lean for example!)

    -And cars have more power on the dirt roads, its hard to find the sweet spot on the dirt roads sometimes for that extra boost!

    -A couple extra BIS missions would be nice :D

    -And of course, more Uphill power in all vehicles

    I havent played a lot of shooters online other than OFP, ARMA2 and Americas Army 2 which was hacked to death. although PB made some difference to curb that problem.

    My question is can Arma2 be hacked or is there hacks & aimbots etc? I wonder because there isnt PB or anything, plus its open source :confused:

    sorry if question is strange :o but i need to know before i get into MP games, i have only being against AI mostly online so far.

    Yeah OFP had a endless amount of addons, became a bit too much in the end. but was good ;)

    Walkways on and inside buildings need to be wider, sometimes AI die, when placed there, they seem fine in the editor, but when you check mission they are dead, it varies! (i assume because there isnt enough room between the wall and the railing) :rolleyes:


  15. There is nothing in the latest patch notes about SP scenarios. And Freedom Fighters isn't bugged so much as completely impossible. How are we supposed to destroy platoons of tanks with PKM jeeps?

    Im pretty sure you have the option to buy units or vehicles on that mission!
