    quick heads up. things were slightly delayed by some complexities of key combos i hadn't considered. all done now though. just send out a version to some testers for last evaluation. so update later tonight (9 pm here atm) or tomorrow. there might be some minor hick ups in shape of some temporary script errors due to the core key system having slightly changed. after rebinding your keys it should be fine though. put some code in there that shoudl auto fix the key format. i might release a semi public version here before the workshop and armaholic one to make sure the latter works out fine for everyone. just want to avoid people having to make a new profile or overwriting variables in the editor.

    a more detailed poll would've been better. i personally think it's more about recovery time than magnitude. after an intense sprint the sway would make sense, if it would recover much faster so you get what we now insatntly after the sprint but it also decreases instantly.

    1.54 Fatigue is too Unrealistic

    so damn spot on! please for the love of god BI do these two simple things. 1. dynamic animation slow down based on load. carrying more = overall slower, or limit the effect to certain anims....get rid of the damn forced walk. it makes no sense in any case. 2. fix the sway. if you make it that extreme you have to make it recover much faster. this is basically the problem of the old system but worse. if i understood it correctly things are decoupled now properly. make use of that. limit extreme sway to after sprint and make it recover fast. put a cap on max sway for not sprinting. so you can have two behaviours for overall exhaustion and exhaustion caused by explosive movement (i just tested that ingame, easy to do with the new commands and works great). if the system gets tweaked we won't have to fix it with mods. not talking about personal preference here. but things that are borderline broken if you apply common sense. the new commands should be for playing around and making interesting different approaches, not for fixing obvious flaws. imho you are very close to something universial that can be considered a great vanilla set up.
  4. i'm really loving the new stamina commands. gives such interesting possibilities. one small request. would it be possible to get some holding breath related commands too? would be great to be able to mod that more easily too without having to disable it and replacing it entirely.

    it seems to me almost like part of the new sound code initialises only after the first shot was fired. like in the editor my first shot sometimes is delayed or i even get stuff stacking up in a weird manner only for things to then seemingly get into order after that. this is not me pretending to know how it works or what exactly is happening under the hood. just trying to describe it in a way that it might make more sense to the devs. it is "kind of" minor but i felt it doesn't feel final like that.

    awesome! could you make an opfor and blufor version (one red like this and one blue or similar) like in that old ofp/arma 1 (can't remember) addon so we can get some santa PvP going? for that purpose there should also be an explosive version of hte present (if there isn't already). anyways. jsut an idea. great work. looks really cool. :)

  8. probably wrong thread but i just wanted to say thx for finally "refixing" the player controller. it was driving me beyond mad how the player's root was moving when turning with a weapon in your hands resulting in falling down from an edge when turning in place or glitching into walls among other things. long overdue but a change with great impact.

    what is your problem Jackal326? i always wondered. do you just really like to publically look down on people? or do you really badly want to be a moderator? pretty sure you can just apply fo the job. might wanna work on the delivery then though. i mean yea. there are a lot of useless threads. bu how one single person can make it such a consistent habit to use them as a vehicle to act super cunty and condescending instead of just ignoring them is beyond me. i don't really give a damn but i'm getting tired of reading your aggressive shit in each of those threads all the time. don't take it too personally. just wondering what your deal is...

    sure thing. just add me on steam. i was actually planning on adding an optional pbo with some colour correction stuff like it's used in some campaign missions so people can adjust preset moods locally at will. but that's on hold until i fixed the more pressing things. and yes. the final beta update after the coming hotfix will have a new dynamic anim speed system for climbs based on several factors. i'm even playing with the thought of putting together my own entire sway and fatigue system. jsut gotta see how good the new script commands are. if they are as comfortable as they seem, it will be an easy task. my plan is to make somethign very simple but dynamic. i don't like how stance don't matter much anymore. and i defo want dynamic anim speeds in general. that new walking cap is just shit no matter how you look at it. little heads up on the current process. the update is almsot ready. key combos are working but i'm jsut struggling with a minor visual glitch in hte menu right now. other than that dropping down, new fall damage and all those 1.54 fixes are ready to be dropped on you guys. i'll do my best to get this last issue sort asap. so expect the update sometime around this weekend. can't realyl say when exactly right now.

    very very VERY good question :lol: something very weird happening in the design department over there. so far i haven't tested the stamina enough but i already know that it would be much better without that weird walk cap and slower anims instead. i honestly really like the ability to jog most of the time just alone for the reason that arma mission design is the most inconsistent ever. these days i just don't like walking a lot without proper pay off (from playing the ofp demo until today i just have done it way more than one too many times :D ). however dynamically slowing the jog would make it much more believable than a constant speed. again. no idea what is up over at BI. the bubble they live in must be made of diamond lol. unbreachable. good thing there is a lot of potential with the new system. and most of all it's muuuch more moddable. so i'd suggest, if you feel like it, just do your own thing. it's so tweakable now that you can basically make yor own system that is tailored just for what you are doing in ravage. including having nutrition have an impact on speed (energy level or something). just make sure it's balanced with food loot properly if you go down that path. even the sway is super tweakable now, if i understood correctly. i've been playing with an XP and progression system in my custom insurgency mission i've been playing with on the side and it just came to me how much depth that could add to ravage. even going as far as starting with default sway and the more you shoot (or actually kill) people the better you get at controlling your sway. or something similar. i still feel like ravage is missing some more of that kind of non combat meta game. including having fireplaces be a mechanic. but i haven't played it in ages so maybe i missed out on a lot of progress there. anyways. sorry for the long post and partly OT. just had a giant super strong coffee lol.

    this is already fixed. it was related to the patch. i had a fatigue (95%) block in there and after BIS introduced stamina the game still outputs a fatigue value. but it rises much faster. that's why climbing gets disabled faster in the current public version.

    one thing that really bugs me, and it's only partly related, is the fact that you (still? not sure anymore since i feel this changed a few times) can not run downhill. it's beyond annoying. yes i get it. "realism" forbids it because you could hurt yourself. but the moment you get fired upon it gets revealed how blind that logic is. in game design, and yes this is a game, sometimes one has to pick the lesser of two "evils". can we live with the lack of "simulation" of the breaking of ankles rather than stupidly being forced to walk downhill while being fired upon? should be a no brainer, if you ask me. these are the things that cause immense disconnect to your avatar in addition to all those ancient anim "bugs" like automatically taking out your launcher when picking up a rocket because it gets auto loaded into your weapon which then makes you stand up because this game doesn't allow you to prone without putting your launcher on your back. god forbid you just couldn't fire when proning with your launcher... sorry for being so annoyed but i felt excited for a second when i saw that the indicator knew i was going uphill. but that excitement quickly turned into annoyance when i realised that the game still isn't able to distinguish between uphill and downhill properly.

    is it me being retarded (please don'rt answer this lol) or is "enableStamina" not working? changed my mod over to it and also tried it in the dev console. no change noticed. maybe it was just a long day... edit: yup...retarded. works just fine now. just ignore me :mellow:

    what i would love to see is anim slow down based on carried stuff like in stalker. it's easy to do with the new animspeddcoef command now. that could also balance unarmed bambi mode vs fully geared and armed in terms of zombies. just some vague thoughts. also: i will deliver that attack anim very soon. sorry for taking so long. i think doing it as a gesture (as in: zed can swing at you while moving) will help with making the zeds more dangerous again too.

    no worries. these errors were there before and have been fixed. they shouldn't break anything. just minor sloppiness fuck ups. the messages just started popping up after the patch, because...uhm...because...arma :lol: had some real life stuff taking most of my energy lately so my evening free time was mostly gaming. but i'll push out an inbetween version in a few days before the last update so these errors don't pop up for you guys all the time. dropping down will already be included, helping up however won't. i really really hope that at some point BI will finally manage to get the game into a some what final state and less beta like. so i can let this addon be and marinate for a while without having to rework it again. but generally the new stamina stuff, namely the script commands, are very welcome because now i can do my own balance stuff for weights and so on. anyways. thx for the reports and general interest. stay tuned guys.

    hm. it seems like the listbox has the "feature" of selecting entries by their first letter. so once you press B it will select the entry with the text "back". good job finding this bug. weird stuff. thx for the report. gonna take care of it. EDIT: k. just fixed it. gonna experiement with combos now.
