Aye, balancing through the use of realism. BF3 wookies will give up and go home after a while when real skill is required.
-
One of my own videos funnily enough, show tail rotor out as well.
-
I think you will find the AI deal with broken tail rotors and in fact most failures better than most human pilots in game. Tail rotor broken is not a crash worthy scenario unless hovering very low in a gap between objects. I also find that a decent AI pilot will have a good chance of surviving an auto rotate landing.

MGS inspired PMC (Opfor)

Liquid definitely. ;) And a decent Colt revolver or a Thor 45 70. A Gekko or two, just to see how they would really fare in some real warfare. Anyone want to borrow one, got one I put in GTASA years ago? Looking forward to these PMCs though, my char is going to get some good sneaky missions out of them. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542955139992369457/021D4F08C7F3562CF357B773485F7A928A61D8FD/ http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/542955139992322491/ACD37FDC8D4E3218A459ED9ED372F27DA36D0FC8/ -
Water crashes or landings in helicopter are very unrealistic

I think those were just the thermal imaging maps themselves, there were further more display modes. Like Green White, Colour Thermel etc.
-
Try doing it with an Su24 oddon with afterburner switched on, on the other hand and you will reach it quite quickly. Sure I was getting around 38,000 to 40,000 feet before it would altitude stall.

Way more than just two types simulated.

Hope it was the Blood Dragon version. Nice work on the USCM stuff so far, I get to use a more authentic Pulse Rifle thanks to you. :) -
You just need to shorten the alpha tunnel on the red dot so it deosnt extend past the gun barrel, or as close as do it.
-
BIS need to chuck Richiespeed and Litos a bung of cash, then the trailers would be epic.

Controller/Joystick mapping

I hate this too and only reason I use xpadder is to assign the left trigger for firing, part of my keyboard & joypad control method. -
SMAA Ultra and AA only needs 4 or 8 for pretty decent quality. SMAA is better than FXAA and is one of the few good things to come out of the cinsoles (was developed for the PS3 as it has no AA capablility).

Uniform apears to have a temperature cooling system either for stealth (low IR) or for soldier comfort reasons. Helmet with HUD to keep in contact with squad and positional data, etc etc.

Ever tried opening a car door with a hand full of RPG before?
-
Probably because it cannot be fixed, Skyrim does the exact same thing along with multitudes of other games. The programmers have to allow a historisis between underwater and above visuals or there will be a new bug where flickering between both results in people having seizures instead.

Can't wait to use them on your server. :)

The bigger jet boats are like their real life counterpart, fucked once grounded. They need to be in the water to intake water to move. Pushing out would be a good function though.
-
Which looked better in it's down position. I sure hope they become functional, or put it back to the way it was before.
-
Moving more than my head and hands is way too much energetic gaming for my liking, you young whippersnappers and your wii games systems.

Any solid info about Underground structures yet?
liquidpinky replied to meshcarver's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I would imagine the clue is in the name of the latter mentioned game though. :P -
Or not even bother as the current 3DOF are all you really need in ARMA, zoom is better on a key than trying to nut your monitor anyway. Lean on roll and the other two as per normal looking around. The other axis will be handy once you can use it in A3 though, especially for piloting choppers.

Not liking the new Fatigue system - Jogging should not be penalised

Hated it in ACE, never used ACE since without having to have my arm twisted by clan mates and will never use it if I am playing on my own. I like to hike everywhere in game (someone has to appreciate all the map creators hard work ;) ) but I also understand that there has to be a balance if you are kitting yourself out like a human tank. Just dont go as far as ACE and be blacking out all over the place, I have had too hike with heavy tools to remote sites plenty in the past and ACE took it to far in my own opinion.
