Thats cool Dale, I've been recommending that folks upload to SW, everything I get from there downloads real fast

-
I had all the mods needed for the first Seal Team 6, however I didnt feel like going through and checking to see which ones might need to be updated so I just re-downloaded everything and the campaign works fine. Its SUUUUUPPPERRRRR SMOOOOOOOOOOTH TOO!
-
I'd give it a go if I could understand the download page, could you perhaps upload your mission to Armaholic plz?
Whats the mission about bro?
-
Yup, I'm lovin it too, rescuing the hostages in misison one is where I'm at and having a helluva time trying to assault it. Since I always fill up the FAV with an assortment of weapons, I'm trying different loadouts and attacking from different directions. The absolute biggest problem I have (not that it has anything to do with this campaign) is my troops not using cover effectively. Even if I switch over to them and manually set them up where I want them. Just curious, is the "find cover" order useful to anyone?
Another weird quirk I found; I'm using a Silenced G36, (3rd person) when I lay prone my shots hit above my crosshair by alot when crouched or standing the shots land barely above the top of the crosshair all while shooting at the same tree 50 meters away. I think it has something to do with one of the mods because I don't notice it during other campaigns/missions. Anyone else notice anything similar?
After taking out the first Arty site, I headed to the second from the western hill. One of these mods keeps giving me a knife instead of binoculars so I make sure to bring an M24 with me to use for Recon. Once I reached the hill I scoured the terrain taking in as much info as possible. I noticed that the hill I was on kinda went down then into a plateau. Just before the AA battery theres a pretty steep dropoff. I loaded out 2&3 with Silenced G36's and myself with an Mk Mod 0 Heavy Machine gun. (all of which were neatly packed into my FAV.) I positioned myself directly west of the camp behind a tree and ordered the other two to flank both left and right.
Unit 2 had a much longer walk but I'm SOOOO glad I did that because he ran into more patrols in the woods. I had him move around a bit to see if there were any more patrolling the south flank but there were only two. Unit 3 was positioned to the North of the camp and had a great view of both sides of the bunker. I ordered Unit 2 to target one of the riflemen near him, then while still holding fire I issued the "Fire" order, not the "Open Fire" order. After 2 took out the first rifleman, I ordered him to target the other then issued the same "fire" order, Rifleman 2... dead. I Immediatly ordered 3 to "Open Fire", waited a second then opened fire myself taking out both Arty batteries myself. Once everyone was in position and I issued the first order, I would say taking out the entire camp took about 30 seconds. Sick... I had so much fun doing this man... Excellent job Slick, Excellent job

Disregard the PM... LOOKIN FORWARD TO THIS!!! WOOT!!!!
-
If you can reach "dale0404" and get it to him somehow he might be able to upload it to the depot, or you could try and upload it elsewhere
-
Yeh Im havin alotta fun with it too! There are some really talented people here making these missions for everybody, and I'm grateful that they are

-
@ Dale- And after you took out the tanks the mission ended?
-
Just tried this mission and after I killed the Armour at the start the mission ended? Any ideas Papercut?I put one satchel right on the ambush marker on the road and one about 20 meters in front of that followed by all three of my AT mines in a triangle. I waited for the 1st tank to hit the mines then blew the satchmos when the 2nd was in range. All worked correctly for me, I had no issues with the mission ending other than when I get killed!

Sweet. Will test tonight. :)PaperCut: Your using latest Namalsk yes? Just checking. It had great FPS improvement on my crappy pc.
Iono, I'll redownload it to see if it makes a difference. Whether or not my PC lags is usually dependent upon which mission I am playing. For some missions Chernarus is laggy, for others it is not. I always just assumed it had something to do with whatever content is involved with the missions, in other words I assumed that if one mission had a buncha stuff in it and it lagged, I attributed my lag to that.
Namalsk is particularly laggy for me though. Nevertheless when I do have to deal with lag I generally control the troops from the overhead view and rarely kill any enemy infantry, relying on my team to take care of infantry while I fully load out with AT gear and focus on Armor.
@PotatoMasher
The mission rocks so far dude!!
I successfully ambushed the armor then loaded out w/2 javelins and moved with my squad to the north, bypassed the gas station with the APC and proceeded to the next gas station. I flanked around the left side staying low in the valley. Once I was set up to the north-east of the gas station I noticed three enemies on a patrol route coming form over the hill headed towards the gas station **{Phone rings, gotta go to work}SAVE** took out the three patrolling soldiers went to check the map and lost my medic rather quickly as I was in a line formation.
Went to work, headed back to Namalsk right now, gonna bring the pain >:)
-
Awesome Another Namalsk map!!! The Namalsk Island is always pretty laggy for me, but its layout is so good I don't even care about the lag. Thanks for adding more to Namalsk

**EDIT**
Just tried it, says its missing content "Extra_Vehicles"
I have a couple different Extra vehicle mods, I'll add them one at a time to see if its one of the ones I have and let ya know which one it is.
**EDIT**
Ok, I added Mushr00ms "Extra_Units_And_Vehicles" mod and it loaded up fine, going to give the mission a run through before I go to work
-
awesome! gonna re-download, I ferget why I gave up on this mission, I know I didn;t finish it but can't remember why, gonna give it 'nother shotola!
**EDIT**
I remember now, I gave up because the medic started outside of the wall and I had to run all along the wall to the next entrance to get him to regroup. I'm soooo glad ya fixed it cuz I love playing on this island with your mission plan!!! thanks man

-
I love the challenge dude, fer shure
And the squad wasn't dead when I got there,, lol, they died by the time I got my laggy ass on top of the parking garage :)but 10-4 n tanks fer the info :D
-
all you have to do is create a folder called "campaign" no quotes though.
-
I decided to see what kind of missions were in the older pages of this forum category and happened upon this mission. Holy shnikes!!! this is one tough mission dude!
At first I was trying to kill the first three soldiers with the handgun to try and get the dead enemies weapons as I didn't know where the ammo crates were. Once I found the crate, I tried my damnest to clear the starting point but eventually gave up and headed up the hill.
I wouldn't dare play this on veteran, mostly because I have a crappy PC and its a bit laggy therefore I need many saves.
But I must note that I do in fact love the immersion... for instance, after arming myself I headed back in towards where you begin the mission in attempts to clear out some enemies. I ran towards a long wall and on the left side of it I took out two bad guys then immediatly ran towards the right side of it. I was hugging the wall almost near the end of it getting ready to lean around the corner and assess the situation when all of a sudden in swoops this civilian... scared the shit out of me, after that scare I said F** this Im headin towards camp 5. WHile running up the hill I was being fired upon by several enemies, got a bit of an adrenaline drip hearing the bullets spit and spat into the ground all around me. While running up the hill the visibility was low but I could see a few silouhettes running to the left of my position on top of the hill **prone-save** they didn't see me so I continued on towards camp 5. I checked the map and noticed one sniper far north of my position and a technical. I was going to fire but I got scared that it might be Muck. I made it to camp 5 but by the time I made it to the top of the parking garage most of my unit was dead.
Would you mind giving me some hints or pointers?
-
yeh, the obj's almost always take a long time for user content to load up for me, but I chalk that up to me having a crappy PC.
As for the NIM thing... by adding the two PBO's that come with the mod to my root add-ons folder all was well. Were you going to delete them just to lessen the required add-ons to play the mission?
Even if some of the bad guys run off into the woods, as long as the player sets up his troops in such a way that they can see all of the enemy as they get out of the trucks, no enemy should be able to escape. If the player ends up losing sight of any escaping troops, that would be the players fault! Setting up your soldiers accordingly for an ambush would prevent any enemies from escaping.
Also, I noticed in another convoy ambush mission that the vehicles within the convoy are spread out pretty far as is the case in your mission. Is there a way to tighten up the formation of convoys? Or is it just the way the AI drives the vehicles?
I played through it again to attack Pusta a bit differently just for shits n' giggles and it was pretty fun, I split up my squad into three groups and moved towards the town a bit slower than the first time I played, it was quite alotta fun man you did a great job
hope ya make another one!! -
Dam that was fun! I really enjoyed watching it man!
The Death Metal music brought me back to my high school days you did a fine job concerning story immersion:)
Nice job on the camera work, I especially enjoyed the part where the camera starts out behind the truck then moves ahead of it while turning to keep facing the truck.
If your looking for reasons to keep creating... BY ALL MEANS PLEASE DO SO!
Its kinda like a TV series where we have to wait for the next episode to find out what happens next which is also veeery cool, definetly adds to the suspense.
I do hope you put another installment out as soon as you can!!!! please!
btw... after playing through it, to get my "dead folks going after live folks" I HAD to put on the movie "Dawn of the Dead" which I am watching right now :)
Man I can't wait to see what happens next!!!!

I'll give it a try, sounds like alotta fun, personally I enjoy story-driven content that immerses the player.
DL-ing right now

My apologies, text does not represent the same attitude as speech. I should have mentioned that I downloaded three missions this past Friday (including yours)and had the same sort of problems with every one. I've been working on a mission of my own for the last month or so and fully understand how difficult it is to create them. You'll NEVER catch me bitching about the content of a mission. Ever.
Yours was the last of the three missions I tried to get working last Friday that did not work. By the time I got to yours and started trouble shooting it with no luck then returned to the site here to see if anyone else had the same probs I was obviously aggravated. What really got me was I downloaded everything needed/listed and it still didn't work. Again, I apologize. I have no problems what so ever admitting when I'm wrong and in this case I was.
Going to try and get it to work again today.
**EDIT**
I have been fiddling around with this for quite some time now. I understand how to install mods with mod folders but for some reason NIM would not work properly by using its own separate mod folder stating that nim_clouds was deleted. I re-downloaded it, even downloaded the version for Arma 1 thinking that the file missing would be located there, no dice.
I then decided to just drag n' drop both files that are included with the Arma 2 version of NIM into the add-ons folder located within the Root Arma2 folder in program files and the mission loaded just fine.
I hope you will accept my humble apology and offer up my head for you to take a big shit on as I deserve it :)
I am going to play it now and return here with my thoughts/criticism.
I just finished the mission man, had lots of fun playing it. Attacking Pusta was awesome, lotsa skinnies attacked from different directions making it unpredictable as hell! Then theres the ambush... I love ambushes especially when I have enough time to set up my troops which I did.
I set up snipers at elevated positions on either side of the road and my AT troops inside the town itself on the west side of a couple of buildings so that when the Guerrillas drove by my AT troops were set up with perfect firing positions at the rear of the vehicles. Worked perfectly
There were only two problems, don't know if it was something I failed to do or a scripting problem.
None of the objectives were ticked off from the task screen but I did receive the orders to go to the next objective and the messages informing me of the completion of each objective.
The only other thing that happened was once I completed the ambush, I waited for the chopper, once it arrived, I ordered my troops inside. Once inside the chopper shut down its engines and wouldn't move.
Other than those two things the mission played very well.
My only suggestion would be to beef up the convoy, aside from that the mission was awesome man, for what its worth coming from me, great job

hello, I like the idea of this EVO thing, but is there a tutorial or manual?
I have been playing in SP. When I complete the save doctor assignment and return to base, it says I receive 20 points but when I go to recruit another soldier it shows that I have no points available. Am I doing something wrong?
I think the ranking system is really cool, I'm just having a hard time understanding the mechanics of the whole EVO thing.
Thanks in advance :)

As soon as I visited the site your mission is uploaded at, I got a message that saiud "Visiting this site may harm your computer"
Maybe you could upload it to Armaholic???
-
HelloI had the CRA troops missing too and solved this problem. however, I have also "nim_clouds" missing and I can't manage to find it. I installed Nim weather but it didn't work. What addon do I need ?
Same here, installed all required add-ons and still missing nim clouds
I guess we'll just have to stay away from missions where add-ons are not made clear in the description...

cannot load texture ca\character\data p-officer_hhl_as.paa.Unfortunately I get these errors in almost every mission, even in the main campaign. Is this a mission error or a CAA1 error? Not too sure at this point.
Thanks
I get those same errors but the missions still play for me. I think I'm hoping to take CAA1 out as well, I don't think I've installed it correctly. I think its causing some problems on the airport mission. If something screws up and I revert, the game crashes and I haven't had the time to try and beat it in one go.
*EDIT* I removed CAA1 and all is well, no bugs at all, not with the saves or with soldier control

I also would like to note that as soon as I get close to the Island for infil, I manually eject all three soldiers and it seems to let the chopper get back to the carrier without sustaining too much damage. The only drawback is the long haul to the FAV. The last few attempts ended up with the chopper being shot down and the crew heading towards the shoreline.
I also experienced a weird issue last night. I usually leave unit 3 on top of the hill near the lighthouse with a Javelin. Unit 2 and myself travel to southern airport gate and stealthily insert into the airbase. The weird thing was, I issued a move order to Unit 2 to the back corner of the hanger, he was taking a weird route to get there, so I moved him there manually. but when I switched back to the leader, unit 2 warped back behind the fence. Weird huh?

If you play it singleplayer, will you have AI units to control? Or will it be a 1-man operation?
SP - Ghosts Of Namalsk
in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS

What happened was, the crew from the two tanks you hit with javies escaped. You need to set up your troops to cover the tanks aftert you disable them. If you dont kill the crew from the tanks they will escape and the misison will end.
Good luck!
