Do i have to remove the //'s right before each number to make this AI mod have effect?
I am trying to tone down the difficulty, because i dont last 20 seconds when i meet an enemy squad.

Is it supposed to be impossible to control the gunner as a pilot of the apache in autohover mode? The gunner cursor keeps centering on the horizon, which it doesnt do when not in autohover. Or are there some buttons i need to assign?

@OS, an interesting idea came to my mind and I am wondering if you would be including something like the helmet flying off on a head shot or something like that when you have the time to do so? :)Why not make the heads explode? Or the hands, feet :)

I only wish the impacts and explosions would look as good from the air.
When flying above and shooting the gun from the apache, the warfx impacts (brown dust clouds) dont look as good as the default impacts (the grey dust clouds). And also from the air, the default hellfire impact looks better than the warfx impact as well. With the warfx impact from the hellfire, there is a real unnatural circle of dust going from the explosion.
You can see the default gun impacts in this video at 45secs.
And default hellfire impacts after 2:30min.

At other parts in the video you can see the big WARFX explosions, they look good from the air ;)

I tried this tweak 4½ months ago, and it worked great. Then i updated it to a newer version about 3 months ago and it didnt work as good anymore. At extreme distances things (parts of walls and other things, not the complete walls) started disappearing.
After some searching i found the old version again on my pc today, and am using that again. I can clearly notice the difference, walls at very long ranges are fully rendered. It keeps things visible even at extreme distances.
I dont know if anyone else had this problem. Im not sure what version it is that im using now, the file was called drawingDistanceTweakTestAddon.7z and i downloaded it on sept16 2009.

On the ground it looks great.
However from the gunner perspective of the AH-1, the particle effects looks worse, especially the cannon impacts dont look very explosive :( Could u work on that?

With the upcoming addon for ArmA 2, Apouh will probably not update the FLIR.No :cry: :cry:
Can nobody else give the pilot a FLIR then? Im sure the entire Arma community is waiting on this and im just the one who has the balls to ask for it

Alright, I've only one complaint with this mod. In my experience with it. It renders any AT missile practically useless. I've notice it is extremely inaccurate. Granted it makes the M197 much more useful as a solo pilot. But if you need to get into an area with AA and cannot accurately target the AA your pretty much done.In my experience with this mod, the missle travels nothing like in the video. Infact it mostly just spirals toward where its aiming, but never straigtens out. And i'd say 1 missile out of 8 hitting within 25 yards of the target is probably the best I get. I'm lucky to even get that close. Seems the accuracy needs to be bumped up, and I can't figure out how to do that, i've tried looking through your configs in the pbo.
Have u tried the new version in the first post? Its supposed to fix the missile accuracy.Also the missile screwed up in the old version when you were shooting from a steep angle. So fly a little lower, the missiles will fly more horizontal and swirl less. Or try the new version.

Could you make the FLIR available for the pilots as well?
This so it can work with Heinbloed's helicopter weapons mod, in which pilots can use the aiming optics of the gunner.

Has anyone been getting some mouse skidding, where it overruns past your target, since the patch?I've never understood or experienced the many complaints about mouse controls, and haven't changed mine since release.
Yes... i just went back to 1.03 to fix it :(

Has anybody else got the problem of jerky movements of AI and other players over a distance? As in, they get warped around, in the direction they're moving, but not smoothly and without animations. I've only seen this in MP in ArmA once, and now it's in SP in ArmA2!Yes, ive seen it a few times (singleplayer). Was in 1.03 tho and didnt see it very often luckily

if its when youre looking around, it sounds like what happens sometimes if you have mouse smoothing set to 0? Try adding a tiny bit of mouse smoothing....Patch also seems to improve general smoothness and fps for me somewhat :) great job!
Its not just when looking around, but more noticeable when doing that. I also tried changing mouse smoothing, it didnt help... Ill try installing it once again and see if i still get similar probs

It seems the 59025 poor performance during action followed this one. Would be expected i guess, but i wonder why this happens? Better AI? Then i can take the loss of performance.Just tested a mission i made and with the 59008 i got very good performance during action. With 1.04 it gets very stuttery during that same part. So much i can barely see whats on the screen when turning around. Not that i loose a lot of FPS, but the screen just flicker almost. Combo loss of FPS and i think it must be something with the mouse.
I have done a lot of tests with VSYNC on/off, Pre Rendered Frames 1-6 etc. Will test some more and see if there is a solution i can find on my end. Maybe it is the extra care of the mouse that causes this. If it is - im afraid 59008 was better - for me.
Cant be easy to be BIS atm with this silly mouse thing.

Im getting the same thing (i think). The screen stutters, especially when looking around. I also think it has to do with the mouse settings.
Anyways im back to 1.03 now.
