  2. First off id like to say thank you to all the people who worked hard on this mod. It is fantastic and i haven't been able to stop playing it since the release. I'd like to share some problems we have found to help fix them. -This mod is very difficult to install and run for the average arma player. Out of 10 or so of my buddies only 2 of them were able to install and run this mod within a day of release. Some just gave up.... There was also a lot of confusion about the hot fixes and beta patch that is required. Also about how to activate the mod when launching the game. It's too bad such an awesome mod is so damn hard for the average player to get running. Make it easier :) -Explosives don't seem to work. When i try to throw a grenade or place a Bangalore for example, nothing happens. -The weapons are very weak and have too much recoil (or the characters have too much health. It takes 3 or more Springfield rounds to kill a German rifleman.) -Characters are constantly out of breath making it impossible to shoot the already weak and heavily recoiled weapons. I will post any more bugs i find. I hope this info helps with the development of this awesome mod. Note: We are playing this mod on combined ops.

  5. I have finished work on my latest mission, co10 Valley Sweep. It takes place in the center-most valley of Takistan. There are 2 squad of 5 soldiers. Your objectives are: Main: -Search the locations of possible weapons caches -There are 3 caches in the valley, destroy them Secondary: -Eliminate all the Insurgents inside the area of operation -Destroy the workshop the insurgents use to make IED's -Talk to Yosef Masood, he says he has intel on the location of an IED or two Tips: -Keep an eye out, IED's can be anywhere -Disassemble the static weapons found at the start and use them to your advantage -Gear can be found behind the humvee at the start -Help as many civilians as possible, but try not to put your team in danger REQUIREMENTS: -Combined Operations I have made 2 versions of my mission, one using the British Armed Forces units and a second version that uses the US army models from OA (for the people who haven't bought BAF) Features: -respawn -IED script -Life like civilian population, they will talk to you, ask for help, etc -Much more that i don't want to spoil :cool: -Have fun and let me know what you think!     I just finished playing the BAF version with some buddies of mine on a dedicated server. All went well.   9. Im an admin/dev on a zargabad life server. I have a problem with my mission, and something with the patch broke it. I can start up the game, It seems that after 2 or so people join, everyone who joins after that gets stuck at "wait for host" before they connect. Its only the Zargabad Life mission that is having this problem, when we start up another mission players have no problems connecting. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas. Thanks for the help.

(Afghanistan) The main base has fixed wing aircraft, rotor craft, an HQ tent, a grenade range, rifle range, pistol range, kill house(from 1ID training base), obstacle course, realistic gate, a motor pool, HALO jump target, armory, hospital, barracks and much more. i focused on realism during the creation of this base. I also built a small FOB (foward operating base) on the South West side of the map.The fob has a hospital, ammo, a few vehicles and some aircraft. The main base/fob are perfect for a training mission or for using as a template for you next mission! It will save time and allow you to have a realistic base.   14. I have completed work on my new Training base. The main base is at the airport in southern Takistan. There is also a FOB located near the center of the map. The purpose for this is to help with group training or to just hone your skills and the ranges. I also intended for this to be a template for mission makers so they can have a realistic base or FOB in their mission without having to spend time creating one. I have also made 4 optional objectives with live enemies. They can be completed in almost any way. So this is perfect for ex, a clan that wants to train new recruits or do some practice. Everyone begins unarmed as you are on a guarded base. But there is no shortage of firepower at your disposal. :nuts: Here is a list of features: -Realistically built main base and forward operating base -RESPAWN -Staging Area/Meeting area -Armory with all weapons available -Motor pool -Heliport -Obstacle Course -Hospital with medevac vehicles -Shooting range -Grenade range -Driving course (or race track. call it what you like;)) 4 Different mission objectives that are optional: -Find and kill a militia colonel hiding in the mountains -2 Villages that are held by the Taliban can be cleared -Destroy a SCUD launcher in the oil fields guarded by Takistani army special forces Playable Slots: (Total:25) -4 instructors -10 Soldiers -8 Trainees -3 Army pilots It is completely up to the player to decide what to do. You can stay at base doing some target practice or fly an Apache and do some live combat missions. Or if you plan on just practicing without any "live missions", i have designed the Main base and FOB so you can drive/fly between the two without taking enemy contact.All US Army vehicles are included as well as all weapons. Only blufor weapons can be found at the marker "equipment" but every weapon can be found at the armory. I have also included a base re spawn and the medical module is also active. This is playable in single player or multiplayer.The possibilities of what you can do in this training base/mission/template are endless and i hope it will be useful to everyone.     Game physics

    haha..arma physics. Today i was trying to make an ATV racing mission around takistan. I made all the waypoints and going up hills, through small puddles, around obstacles, etc. It was freakin awesome. Then when i was finally done i tested it...FAIL The course worked perfectly. But the physics dont allow you to drive a light vehicle like an ATV over anything but asphalt unless your going very slowly. I was driving on flat rocky ground (should be fine for any ATV), i didnt hit a ramp or anything. Just a small pebble made my ATV fly 50 feet, do a triple front flip and it landed on its side so it was no longer usable. I was so pissed cause i realized that my dreams of making an ATV racing mission in this awesome terrain are forever ruined due to the horrid physics of the game. Even when i made the ATV's invincible they still flipped or the player died when it was a non fatal crash. In fact, the physics for the ATV's are so bad i was laughing hysterically at how many flips i was able to do without ever finding a ramp. Or how a small bush no higher than a foot tall stopped my ATV from 80kph to 10kph instantly. I guess i have to give up my dream of making an awesome ATV racing mission. I was gonna make a version where you had to dodge mines and everything. :(
  17. Hello everyone. I have finished work on my latest mission. Its called Helmand Stryker Patrol. Quoted from the readme: Helmand Stryker patrol Mp Mission Created by Bryce23. Finished on 6/22/10 Backgroud info: You are a US Army soldier stationed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan at FOB Warrior. (The FOB from my template) Your task is to go on a patrol north of the FOB and destroy Weapons caches, mortars and technical's owned by the Taliban and other forces in the area. Use the strykers provided at the FOB for transport and light support. You may also use the Humvees provided or you can simply make it a foot patrol. An estimated platoon-sized enemy force is operating in the area.The area of operation also has many civilian villages so watch out for civilians. The area of operations is marked with a black rectangle with diagonal lines through it on your map. Once the two main objectives are completed the mission will end.   18. Really? :) That's good news. I guess what i meant to say was that when played online you cant enable AI. (or at least i couldn't) So that was my mistake in wording. But im glad you enjoyed the mission and thanks for letting me know.
  19. The reason you cant play with friendly AI is because of the AIS script im using. (artificial injury system) Which is the script that controls how you can be revived and also the respawn. But it doesnt work if friendly ai is on. I will try and make a new version where you choose between this AIS and for ex the ACE wounding system. And with the ACE wounding system i could enable friedly AI. Thanks for the feedback and ill try and get that done.

I just used simple editor commands to place the objects at certain heights. if you want to make a fire base just throw this mission folder into your profile missions folder and you can open it in the editor. This is just a template and its made for you to edit to your liking. Thanks for the feedback and let me know if you have any other questions. :)
  23. Thanks! The missions are for you guys to make. This template is just to save some time for the mission maker to have to build a base on every mission he makes and to make it a bit more realistic-feeling. I am in the process of making a search and destroy mission on this map using the FOB i built. Should be done in a few days. About the artillery, the further you aim it the less accurate it becomes. The middle line shows where it will most likely hit and you should always aim with that. I'm not sure, i could be wrong but i believe the other two lines are for wind correction. I'm glad you like the base :)

Its to the north west of the runway. And at the FOB by the river there ae some mortars for you to use. But hey, this is only a template. Add whatever you would like :) Just place the mission folder into your "my documents-arma2 other profiles-your name-missions" folder and you can open it in the editor
