  1. Kylania! You rock! This is what I am looking for! Thank you so much! I need to make a few adjustments to it though. Is there anyway you and I could talk? Skype or I could invite you to our TS channel. I need just a few minutes of your time to pick your brain. I want to do exactly what I saw in the demo, but I want to move the AI's head so he is looking backwards as he runs forward. My goal is to have someone chasing him a few yards behind and the viewer seeing all of it through the ai's eyes. Please Inbox me if you are willing to assist. I will give you props in the mission as I do for all who help me with scripts =)
  2. Here is what I hope to achieve. Coop mission. Blufor, Opfor. Mission starts and immediately cuts to a lone, non-playable AI player who is running away from a building. From the start, the camera is his viewpoint, 1st person. This Ai eventually gets to another building and hides. At this point, the camera cuts away, and the game begins for the players. The goal of the mission is to get to this friendly AI and rescue him. So basically, how do I either A. Use the editor to attach a 1st person camera to the nonplayable AI as he is running to the building we will eventually rescue him from. Or. B. Record this event myself with FRAPS or something, and use it as a media file to preclude the mission start? I would be grateful for any suggestions or opinions. Thank you in advance.
  3. Excellent, thank you for the suggestions, I will look into them when I get home to night and will request more assistance if I get stumped. Thank you.
  4. Well, thank you for telling me you'd punch me in the face, and there is a need for this result, which is why I brought my question here. The goal is to have a squad forced to defend the wounded soldier while the medics work on him for ten minutes. That is the point of a certain part of the mission and as much as it does not make sense to you, it makes sense to me. I am merely asking for suggestions as to how to make it work, not personal opinions or passive/aggressive statements. All I am looking for is a way to load an AI unit into a stretcher, but force a wait time of ten minutes. I would imagine it involves first deploying the stretcher, but would the stretcher have to be named so that the AI unit would have a destination for the "Addcargo" command? I am still tinkering, but have not quite figured it out. Any additional advice on how to load an AI onto a stretcher that is placed by a player medic through the use of an addaction is greatly appreciated and I would gladly put my knowledge to use if it could help any of the members of this community. Thank you in advance.
  5. Hello there, I am working on a mission for my community and I have run into a bit of a wall. Here is what I want to accomplish. The scenario involves a wounded AI in an unconscious state lying on the ground. I want two player medics, with a stretcher, to place the stretcher by the wounded ai, wait there for about ten minutes(To simulate stabilizing the injured) and then have an add action appear that allows them to load the AI onto the stretcher. I have a trigger set to activate once the medics are in proximity, but do not know the right way to go about setting it up. I would imagine it involves a "sleep 600;" command in there somewhere, but am not sure where to start. Any advice is appreciated. -Ninjie.
  6. I was hoping to solicit a few ideas from anyone who cares to respond. I have a series of missions I am running for my community. Currently, we've wrapped up the second of five missions I plan on making. Each mission I try to add some personality so as to make them events. Atmospheric effects such as sounds and changing weather to help the suspense. But I always have a neat way to start the mission. For example, in the first mission, I started everyone in a HALO drop at 4000 meters and let the sync work itself out while I had music and credits rolling. Second mission, I was able to spawn 20 units in the c130 at 10,000 meters and let them run out the back to "live drop" as it were. For my next mission, I want to do something similar, but I am not sure where to start or search for creative ideas. I always want it to be interesting, more than just standing on the ground next to a box or a bunch of gear. Does anyone have ideas for a neat way to start a mission? Whether spawning them on a carrier, or a c130, or anything. I'm looking for creativity and shock value if possible. Thanks in advance, I appreciate anyone's insight or suggestions.
  7. I have a mission, everything is set, except I want to place an IR chemlight to denote a landing area. I have 16 players para dropping from 6000 meters. It's a clear night, but I want them to be able to steer to the correct place. I've searched and searched and while I am not necessarily new to editing, I cannot remember how to place an object on start. I'm sure it's a line of code in init that probably involves a marker of some sort, but would appreciate any assistance on making it happen. Thanks if you can help, I'm a bit stuck at the moment. -N
  8. First off, sorry to admit, I am not a noob to map editing, but I am a noob to Arma 2 Map editing. For this mission, is there anyway to add a barracks where I or my friends can purchase bots for our team? Is there a way to do that in the game already, I was unsuccessful in researching the answer. Thanks to any who answer.
