Hello everyone. I'm new into mission editing and I'm having some frustration with the AI squad I'm commanding. Basically I hate the fact that they have to wonder off and not keep in a tight formation, even after you command them into a formation such as 'file' or 'diamond'. Also, the fact that they easily get lost instead of maintaining a short distance between you and them while you're walking/running can be just as annoying. Is there any form of script, or technique, I could use/do in order to avoid this? I'm asking since my mission creation is based on 'CQB/CQC' style missions, which don't work that well due to these frustrating elements. I also remember an option to change the player status from 'In formation' to 'none', which made them respect their exact position you placed them in the old 2D Editor. However, I can't seem to find this in Eden? To sum it up, I would like my squad to behave much like the ones that did in old games such as R6's Raven Shield. Thanks. Noob question here: can I just simply place that on the activation of the trigger, syncing it to the player's group, or would it be better to create an .sqf file?

I will give all your suggestions a go, doesn't hurt to try. Suppose for now it seems there is no viable solution, but thanks anyway, appreciate the help!

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong then, because my experience with AI relates to them moving all over the place, aside from their actual formation, especially in urban-based areas. An example: a squad of 4 members, player as team leader, ready to assault a house/building - Formation: File. Stance: Aware. ROE: Open fire, keep formation - I plan to storm the front door and expect the rest of my team to stand behind me. Instead, one is looking for another entrance, the other has wondered off to the garden and one is actually trying to get in my way!? I just don't understand why your squad mates can't respect the exact formation type you order them to. This is all probably to do with issues dealing with open-world based games, however I was hoping there are some sort of 'cheats' someone would know to get around it.

Before it became officially recognized, this article published by the Wall Street Journal stated that the Malaysian Flight 370 continued to be tracked by satellite feed 5 hours after its disappearance from radar. Initially this was all denied by the Malaysian authorities. However this speculation has recently been taken seriously, and that the plane could have flown well over 7 hours, with the 'Aircraft and Communications Addressing and Reporting System' apparently and deliberately switched off during flight. For the moment speculation places the aircraft in two possible places on Earth: a northern corridor stretching from the border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan through to northern Thailand a southern corridor stretching from Indonesia to the southern Indian Ocean It's scary to think that even in this day and age, with careful planning planes can still be made to disappear without trace. Thoughts anyone? Any ideas where this plane could've ended up?

Hello, is it possible to have a class setup much like Kerry + co in the Wet Work mission? They're in camo wear but with diving gear and I'm having some difficulty on how to add the swimming fins. Thanks in advance! (if this has been requested in advance, accept my apologies and I'll do the necessary search).

I was thinking in the same lines of standalone expansion pack, something that would revolutionize A3 much like OA did to A2. Something that focuses on the naval warfare with Snow islands and snow blizzards in addition to the weather system (would make for good artic mods too). Regarding your opinion on A3, so far I'm actually enjoying the game immensely, I find it actually a lot less buggy than A2, with a campaign that was actually flawless.

I hope they're making one in addition to the upcoming DLC's, because it would be really good. Something in the lines of the Eurocopter Tiger or the Agusta A129 Mangusta opinions?

maybe it's a bit too soon to discuss, however does anyone have a wishlist on what Arma 3's 1st expansion pack? I was hoping in the lines of: 1. Far east setting, something in the lines of the Kuril islands maybe? 2. Chinese/North Korean OPFOR (or even both, some form of pledged alliance with CSAT). 3. Snow/blizzards (new weather format). 4. Maybe the return of an amphibious assault aircraft carrier? 5. Use of knives (completely unlike COD/BF standards of course). 6. Nuclear submarines (far fetched...) These sort of ideas would maybe allow BI to expand their universe in the underwater field, as for me there's good potential there. Anyone else have any ideas?

If there is an air strike from US and French warplanes, it's going to be an interesting one. Iraq & Afghanistan were a walk in the park in comparison, as here they will be dealing with SA missiles in frequence. From the US they will be delivering F-15/16 as well as carrier fighters, I wonder however if the F-22 will see any action? Pity the F-35 isn't in service, would've been good timing to test it's stealth technology. 'No boots on the ground' they say, but everyone knows modern warplanes are almost blind without the help of SF forces on the ground.

Hi, some issues I've noticed since using the BETA: NV Goggles - why are they not visible on the helmets no more? I thought it was just a day thing however during night time they're not attached to the helmets, just pop up when you activate them? I hope they fix it to the old way Sometime after using the editor during a night time mission test in a cockpit of the Comanche, most of the menu icons on the editor go dark/black in colour? If these issues have been listed beforehand, sorry for the inconvenience caused. Thanks for taking the time in reading this thread.

The fact that it costs €9,99 just goes to show that probably not all that many hours were spent on making it. I'm sure all the devs are dedicating all the time required in improving Arma III without losing too many hours dedicated to 'TOM' (Take on Mars :)
