  1. Anyways, to business... ive been going over your sound files the whole week! and ive found something your missing, remember how everyone (including me) moaned at you about making the explosion sounds more louder and sounding more dangerous? well, something that you havent got is this:

    (ArmA2: OA Real SoundMod) it needs that thud! lol

    Check the video out on 40secs 54secs and 1:06secs.

    I second that..i've watched the video and wanted that soundmod but the guy who uploaded the video said it wasn't available anymore.

    Anyway I hope you understand this is a suggestion and not mandatory.


  2. Are you sure you launched the new campaign? I have the very same CTD with the original release, but the newsest version fixed it for me.

    yup..in my campaign folder I put your fix..and I still use the 'john' addon as you said in the readme.

    I also can select the campaign 'john(fix)' or something similar but I still get the ctd.

    I'm running a couple of mods though.


  3. Good news everybody! I fixed it! :yay:

    It assume that since an OA Update in September the way .pbo files are accessed has changed. Now, simply by not pbo'ing the file the CTD-Problem is fixed. While I was at it, I took the liberty of fixing several other issues, including:

    • Bugged mission ending in Mission 3
    • Auxillary Codebook display (Just in case it is cluttered up)

    John 1.57 (17 MB)

    In order to play this campaign, you will still need this addon.

    Installation:

    Put the extracted John157 folder into your campaigns directory!

    In-game you will see two John-Campaigns selectable in the campaign-screen. Select "John (OA 1.57 Fixed)" and enjoy.

    Still have the CTD error


  4. 1 thing I would like to see would be some enhanced bullet impact effects on the ground contacts

    I think if you want realism the impacts how they are now are just fine to me.

    I disliked the dirt spraying in the air after you shot the ground with small arms.

    Then something about the artillery and mortar impacts.

    I agree for the artillery there should be more dirt flying in the air but for the mortars I think the 'dust only' is just fine.

    Look at some example missions of incoming mortars and there you can see it isn't alot of dirt spraying in the air so for mortar impact I think you should leave it the way it is.

    Little thing I noticed. The btr on the opfor side has a huge muzzle flash.

    Don't know if this is the same as in real life.


  5. I am going to need some help with the explosion sounds and I can not get the sound of the Saiga to play, it keeps playing the M24 sound from vanilla. I am tryng to correct the sound for the Shilka/AZU cause it sounds awefull the way the config plays it. um.....

    About the explosions.

    I know a guy who has a library of war sounds.

    Maybe he can help you..just send him a PM or so.

  6. I am running the Combined Ops version on a CO installation. I am in the 2nd mission. In the game menu (called with Esc) the only option that is working is "Save". Revert, Options and Exit are unavailable, so I have to close the game with Alt-F4 if I want to exit the campaign or load a game. Was this done on purpose?

    I also have the same problem.

    I also get the error as previousely stated:

    The only Issue was a message with an overwritten variable,but i saw no consequence in the mission. Had this at missionstart.

  7. sarge4267: are you using combined ops? If you are and the mission provides you with a d30 artillery cannon then your running the wrong version - the combined ops version has the TOW launcher. Hope that helps.

    I am running combined ops.

    But what do you mean version wise?

    Is there another campaign then?

    I run to the sandbags and then it automatically puts me in the d30

    Edit:nvm i found the version.

    Looks like i need to do it all over again..which is not a problem at all :p


  8. Ok i'm getting a little bit frustrated here.

    I'm now on the hill trying to shoot the incoming tanks (I hope you know what I mean)

    Now even when I have a direct hit on the tank..it does nothing..not even after 3 direct hits with the result they can come in close and finally kill me everytime.

    What am I doing wrong here?

    help is appreciated.

    (btw: great campaign so far)
