    One thing I'd like to see improved, not just for tanks but across the board really is the FLIR simulation. I feel like the contrast of FLIR camera's in the game right now it too low when it coms to the enviroment. Real FLIR camera's have wider range of values to display things that are hot and cold. I think it could help improve target acquisition a lot if you could actually see what you're looking at through a FLIR scope, wether it be a house, a tree or a rock. Instead of having this almost equally grey backdrop with white hot blips appearing every now and again.

    Come home in one piece my friend! And thank you for your continued work and support on this mod, that goes for all the dev's working on the USAF mod. And please don't be discouraged by the negativaty or the plagiarism that has been taken place lately. I know that the vast majority of the community deeply appreciates what you're doing. The USAF mod is one of the reasons I stil play Arma, and I can't wait to see what it will turn out to be with the new features the jets DLC has brought to the table.

  4. Hey TeTeT, I'm a student 3D artist. I'd love to try and help out a little if you'd like. I'm not certified AAA artist but I like to think I can hold my own. I also do texturing work. I work with Autodesk Maya, 3DS max and Substance Painter. I'm teaching myself substance designer aswell, to make my own smart materails. Perhaps I could work on some small things for the interiour if I can find some good referance material. Let me know

    That first ticket was created on July 12 2016. That's over a year ago, a year and 2 months to be exact. So this issue has persisted for over a year and nothing is being done about it. Why Bohemia?

    This doesn't really seem like a driver related issue to me. Driver issues usually don't impact in game effects that much, more post proces effects such as anit aliasing or anisotropic filtering which are driven directly by graphics drivers that are impacted by driver issues. But even if it were, I just don't get it you know? I mean, I know for a fact that Bohemia have very competent developers who CAN get shit done if they choose to put their backs into it. So why is it that there are so many blatantly dumb issues plaguing Arma, issues that other developers generally adress as soon as they pop up. Are they to stubborn to see these things as real issues or do they just don't care?

    I'm not sure if I'm being picky but this is beyond frustrating to me. Arma already has laughable particle FX and now they aren't working properly either. At first I thought it was because I'm using the Blatcore mod and it was simply outdated. Honestly if BI doesn't do anything to fix this in Arma 3 I don't see any point in playing anymore. I don't think you can expect players to take your game seriously as a military simulator if all your particle FX look like confetti poppers. And I have to say that I hope they get their particle game on with the new Enfusion engine otherwise I'm just going to skip new BI titles altogether.

    I know you guys made some sweet afterburner FX for the F-18, SU-35 and F-18X mods. Would like to see those on the new DLC aircraft aswell. Also I wouldn't bother the PiP targeting camera in the cockpit, because the distance at which PiP in Arma is quite laughable. If it would improve preformance I'd just remove the PiP. Lastly, just a suggestion something I'd like to see personally would be to have somekind of stationary, static UAV operating theatre onboard the USS Freedom. If only for the simple fact that it would be a bit silly to have to stand on deck of a carrier with a big drone backpack.

  13. So I'm guessing that by now most people have seen the latest devblog by BI. I myself am actually quite excited for the new jets DLC, it looks great. One thing I noticed though when reading the latest blogpost was something written on the side of the new NATO jet, called the Black Wasp II. Here's the image. Right underneath the wing, above the word NAVY, it says "USS Freedom". Now anyone who likes flying aircraft in Arma like myself, probably knows of the the brilliant F/A-18X mod that was originally released by John Spartan and Saul here on the forums, and is now maintained by TeTeT if I'm not mistaken. However before they handed over that project they were talking about working on something "big", and they teased us with an image of a fictional next generation aircraft carrier which they called, you guessed it, the USS Freedom. So I'm sort of putting this together: 1. They stopped working on the F-18X mod which was called the "Black Wasp" and the new NATO jet by BI is called the "Black Wasp II". 2. Before they left they teased us by saying they were hard at work on something "kinda big". 3. Before that they showed interest in making an aircraft carrier for Arma 3 named the "USS Freedom" a name that has now resurfaced on the side of a new DLC jet. 4. In the new devblog video Jay Crowe stated that they have worked with third party developers from B01 studio's. Which suggests to me that Spartan and Saul now actually have their own production company (awesome :D) 5. In the same video you can clearly see there's motion capture work being done for flight deck crew. Now ofcourse I don't want to jump to conclusions, but if you'd ask me John Spartan and Saul have started their own little game company, and were employed by BI to work on the Jets DLC. All if which fantastic, but I'd like to know if there's anyone here that can actually confirm/debunk this.

    Well even if it doesn't, I believe TeTeT is still working on the Nimtiz mod for Arma, which is coming along nicely.

    Maybe, but then again why would you do motion capture for flight deck crew if you aren't going to at least implement a feature for launching/landing aircraft?

    Well in the video Jay Crowe mentioned "free bonus content" right when they played the clip of the guy motion capturing. So my best guess is that the carrier will be free DLC, perhaps something to go along with a new game mode? Although I do wonder how extensive this carrier will actually be given that its "free". Or perhaps its free in the same way that the Arma 2 PMC content was free but only paid if you wanted high quality models and textures. Who knows, anyway I think its something to look forward to.

    The only thing I could really ask of the Tanks DLC is more detailled interiors for armored vehicles and more PIP functionality to go along with those interiors. Also I'd be nice to see character animations for getting in and out of the vehicles like what we see in the A-164 Wipeout. Other than that the thing that really needs fixing is the AI pathfinding for vehicles. Infact I think the AI pathfinding overall needs to be fixed.

    Blastcore remake?

    Here we go, this is what I posted about earlier. This is a glitch that occurs with Blastcore every now and again. Some context to this: Behind the black pixels hides an artillery canon firing in front of an MLRS unit which is also firing at the same time. I'm pretty sure this happens when 2 Blastcore lightsources pass in front of each other. In this cas the blast of an MLRS rocket and the muzzle flash of the artillery. You could try to replicate this yourself. I took this screenshot during one of the campaign missions of "The East Wind" campaign. I can't remeber what its called exactly, but its one of the last ones. Where you have to take the town and destroy the tank.

    The only thing I can really name that I know is broken for sure in the current version of Blastcore are the black texture pixels that appear every now and again when 2 lightsources pass in front of each other. For instance the muzzle flash of a tank next to another muzzle flash of a tank or artillery fire. I made some screens better desrcribing this issue a while back. I'll see if I can find them.

    Its more a matter of respect than real licenses. I guess you could try to release them as community fixes to an excisting mod, as long as they're not released as a standalone project under a different name. I'm not sure wether OS has officially retired Blastcore from his end though, so better be safe and try to get a response from him.
