That's one of the wisest things anybody has posted on this thread in a while.

There's a big difference in imitating somthing and literally taking advantage of some one by using someone else's work. I mean he called it Hopecore for christ sake, he could've named it Blastcore by Opticalsnare: patched by Hope Johnson, but instead he stole OS's work and called it his own. Its not a matter of creativity, its a matter of respect, you just don't steal peoples stuff, its basic common sense. And how dare you mention ego. You clearly have never made a mod or done anything in your life you worked hard on, because if you did you would know that protecting your own creative good is not egotistical. If anything OS might be short on ego as he still has enough faith in the community after all this BS that he keeps updating the mod. Anyone who choses to share and take construcitve critisism on content they spent they're free time making is not a self centered person. A community works because people respect each other, and communicate with each other. Two things that Hope Johnson never did.

Dear Opticalsnare, I not going to try to talk you out of quitting modding, although I do think its a bit of a shame the community will soon be without one of its most talented people. I fully understand why you would want to give it a rest. I just want to take this oppertunity to (once again) really say how appreciative I am of what you have done to the game and how much respect I have for you for sticking around even with people like HJohnson trying to take advantage of your work. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be as I myself am not much of a modder, but people like you and the reaction that this mod has gotten has been one of the reasons I have chosen a career in the games industry, which is why I'm currently a 2nd year game artist student. I know this might not mean a lot to you but it means a lot to me, because people like you are the reason why PC gaming is still so enjoyable to this day. So if this is the last time you update the mod, and the last time you are on the forums, I'd like to say thank you, and best of luck with whatever you will chose to do the rest of your life.

    Blastcore: Phoenix 2

Well everything seems to work fine for me :). It seems that even the issues with some of the user made vehicles have been ironed out, great job OS!

Good to hear you're doing better LJ, and also to see you back with the mod :)

No I completely understand, I'm eager to see what they are up to aswell. But generally the modders themselves arn't as active on the forums as most other people who just play the game. Because people who play the game go onto the forums to check on any updates, give feedback based on the mods they play with. Whilst modders themselves also play the game to test they're own mods and so forth, so they usually only comment when the actually have something to say about the progress of the mod, which isn't as often as just checking threads for updates like we do. See I like commenting and starting discussions because I like the Arma community and I like participating, now ofcourse that also counts for modders. But in my own experience because modders are most prominently content creators not content consumers, they are busier with exactly doing that, creating content. Which is why they are sort of seperated from the main group of people on the forums.

Hopefully because they're busy. Most probably because they're actual people with real lives and the don't spend all of it on the BI forums or modding Arma.

Sexy, sexy, sexy. If I may add one opinion though. The colours on the tail don't really fit in my opinion, I know they're offcial insignia and everything. Maybe make them a little less birght?

Take your time OS, I'm in the middle of crunch time at school, lots of left to finish and tests to take. Don't mind if you take another month or so to finish the update :p

I take it you play on PC? Add me as a friend on Social Club, we'll do some heists together some time. My social club ID is the same as my BI forums nickname, "CyclonicTuna".
  17. I would love to see that, I honestly don't understand why BIS doesn't impliment this stuff themselves.
  18. CyclonicTuna

    Blastcore: Phoenix 2

I still think that's kinda retarded, BIS should really try to fix that somehow. I mean, they have to make their FX aswell some way right? I doubt they restart the game every time they tweak something. Besides that its also kinda pathetic they haven't changed anything about the vanilla effects since like 2001.
  19. Yeah right, VBS can't even run on consumer hardware let alone that its anything similair to Arma. Yes they both stem from the RV engine but that's where the similairities end. You can't just say that if something is done in one game on the same engine it can be done in another. You still need code, and a programming structure to make it happen, an engine is just a tool to facilitate code, and if you have started coding in one structure you can't just move it to a diffrent one. But besides all that VBS was created with a totally diffrent user in mind, and a very diffrent platform to run on.

When near a hanger or a rearm truck you can enter the service menu and select diffrent loadouts, however the service menu is still WIP. But if I remember correctly you have to press the 3rd blank square in the arming menu.

I noticed that with the AC-130U Spooky, the Spectre seems fine. When you switch to autopilot in the Spectre it banks like its supposed to so you can fire the guns properly, the Spooky doesn't do this for some reason. I take it that the Spooky just isn't finished yet as it also doesn't have the LDL script (which I freaking love btw). But it does raise the question, why exactly are there 2 AC-130's? I mean not that I mind :p, but the Spectre and the Spooky don't seem to differ from each other, or I'm missing something.
  22. Well there have been some cool addons released that focus on air defence: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=25690. It would be nice to have some real air defence's incorperated with the ship, instead of the Cheetah IFV's placed down on the deck.

A big thank you to Fuller and the entire USAF team :D! Your work makes Arma 3 so much worth while, keep up the amazing work gentlemen!

Sweet, quick question though. Are all these new improvements going to impact preformance much? Because to be honest I'm sort of struggeling as it is with Dragonfyre light :P
