Haha!! Well just being busy mate. I've had hardly any time to play Arma anymore lately :butbut:. Point is, I'm 18 now, and I'm in my freshman year at collage. It means half of the time I'm trying not to suck at school subjects, and the other half I'm hungover ;). But! I'm slowly nearing the end of the year, about 6 more weeks. And then I'll have more time to play again. And I'll make another list of feedback for you covering the campaign. I havn't forgotten about your awsome work! Greetings, CyclonicTuna -

Hey! Its been a while, I've been extremely busy (and still am). Maybe you've already seen this on the hompage of armaholic but I'd thougth I'd bring it to your attention anyway. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?133687-EA6B-Prowler-Mod I thought maybe it would be cool to implement in a future update. I believe they still use these on the Nimitz aircraft carriers for recon and intellengence. Cheers! CyclonicTuna -

This may sound a bit weird but maybe it would be interesting to shift the focus to the emotional side of being a soldier from time to time. I know it may not be a must for a simulator but just hear me out. I don't mean to add any unecissary cutscenes or setpieces with bad voice acting in the gameplay. But maybe as a conclusion to the campaign it would be cool to have some kind of farewell ceremony for all of your lost friends and comerades. With beautifull music and an inspiring speech. Finishing with a salute with gunshots fired up into the air. You know the ceremony's where all the victims get loaded on a plane in they're cascets are coverd with a flag. I don't know, I'm just throwing something into the mix. I think it would just be a beautifull ending, and its certainly a big part of a real soldier life. Here's an example, the last scene in Black Hawk Down: Thats still one of the best ending's in any war story "nobody asked to be a hero, it just somtimes turnes out that way". I don't know exactly what the storyline in A3 will be but I'm sure the BIS developers can come up with something just as or even more inspiring -

I could write a scenario of 30.000 words that in detaill explains how this whole situation unfolds and what a possible outcome could be but I won't. Because I know that the BIS devolopers might appreciate it but won't use it. All I know is that I think one really interesting direction in such a plot would be an all out war in Scandinavia. As far as I know its never been done and it could add a lot of new gameplay features along with the enviroment. Honestly I'm getting a bit tired of all the conflicts taking place in urban enviroments and/or dusty remote places. A cold and snowy enviroment changes everything from flight mechanics to sound. And from camouflage to vehicular warfare. I'm from Holland and I don't know a whole lot about the Swedish and Norwegean forces. But what I do know is that (just like the Dutch armed forces) they are being underestimated. They are the most experienced cold weather fighters in the world and they pack the latest and greatest in military gear. I would like to see them fighting side by side with Dutch, Belgium, German, British and Danish forces to drive back the invaders. Ofcourse that leaves the question of who the invaders are. Eventhough I don't like to admit it (in the name of all that is a cliché WW3 plot), I think the Russians would be the most likely contestend. They also have experience with cold weather warfare and they are most likely to invade that part of Europe when WW3 hits. I poses a vital strategic purpose for Submarine ports and ICBM silo's. That's basically it, I really hope we are going to see some artic warfare :p -

One thing that has been bothering me for the entire span of the Arma series is that there is no action button. For every action you want to do in Arma you need to face the object and then scroll thrue an entire menu of actions you can preform with that object, and that can get pretty frustrating when the bullets a whistleling past your head. One example is the ladder. There's a minescule zone somwhere in the center of a ladder which activates the action in the action menu, it would be much faster if there was a single button you can press to just start climbing, or even better, just walking up to the ladder. Now I know Arma simply is to complicated and offers to many features to incorperate this all in one button. But a good way to start is how the Rainbow Six games have done it. Being able to cycle thrue modes using 2 or 3 buttons and then use one button to prefrom a set of actions is a lot faster. Also the new Operation Flashpoint games (considering how terrible they where) had a better user interface. When hovering over an object with you gun and icon would appear which showed when you opened the action menu a new set of actions. In conclusion I think BIS should optimize the UI for the heat of battle.

I thought BF3 had a pretty good flight model of the F-35. They got all the flaps and the rotating exhaust and everything. The only thing missing was the internal weapons bay. BF3 had pretty good vehicle models in general. http://stickskills.com/omega/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/F-35.png Also very good war fx http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/766/bf3tank.png Mayb BIS could take a look at that :) -
Wow! This pretty cool! I saw the sceenshots, but one question. When the module is released will it come with the KC-130? I'd really like to see this implemented in Rough Knight's Carrier operations Duala campaign
-
If its really not authentic, the ACE team will fix it ;), I'm sure of that. But I also trust in BIS to deliver a realistic experience. And I like the path they have chosen for, its good to offer some variety between the violence of all the modern day mainstream shooters. Its not like their going completely sci-fi. We still need wheels to get us from A to B, and we still need gunpoweder to kill the enemy. Our jets and helicopters are still powered by kerosine, and so far I havn't seen any Halo inspired green and purple armor anywhere. I for once am looking forward to try the new experimental weapons and vehicles. And like I said, I'm sure that in the end most of the content will be provided by the community. Its likely that we'll go back to desert storm and afghanistan again nevertheless.

I'd wish that the AI would behave a little more realistic in some engagements. Especially airsupport. In Arma 2 Airplanes and attack chopper come way to close at times. The new A-10C closest engagements are 2 or 3 miles away when using the gau-8. And when a Jdam or Laser Jdam is called in you often don't even see them. They drop bombs from easily 8 miles up and 20 miles from the target. Ofcourse this varies with the speed. Which brings me to my next irritation. In Arma 2 bombs drom way to slow. They float to the target like leaves, a 2000 lbs bomb reaches a terminal velocity of about 400 miles an hour. -

Patience mate, trust me, 1.5 was worth waiting for, so 1.6 is definetly worth waiting for. Rough Knight said he would probably be able to release it in the coming week. That means we'll definetely have it this month. And if not, its still worth waiting for. So yeah, enjoy this dancing banana -
That would be quite awsome, the addon as it is now is already more then I ever expected it to be. But there are so much more cool things to think of to build off further. One thing I hope for the most is that we'll also see the Nimitz back in A3.

Haha, I didn't know you had kids, probably like this :bounce3: huh? But again, please take your time. Hurrying things up has never contributed to any game. Sidenote, I am gonna be gone from Februari the 24th to March the 4th, I'm going snowboarding in France :p. I'm also very busy so I might not have enough time to play it, if you can't find a spot to release it this week. I just thought I'd let you know if you where expecting more feedback dicrectly after the release like I did last time. Good luck! CyclonicTuna -

Awsome! I'm looking forward to the release. You see what a couple of animations can do to a flight deck! Awsome... -
Its easier, not worse. If you take time to set it up correctly its very good. Except for the lame physics, but that's something that will get fixed in A3

Hello NaturalFlying and welcome to the Arma 3 forums!! So you like flying, me to, its what I mostly do in Arma 2. There's a couple of things you should know. First of all the controls, BF3 flying is nothing compared to flying in Arma. It imposes much more realistic flight physics which brings you more freedom but also boasts a lot of new challenges. I play Battlefield to, and in Battlefield you can control you jet with the WASD buttons and the mouse. In Arma you'll need your whole keyboard, and more. I use a flight stick, a throttle and my mouse and keyboard all at once. It comes much closer to operating in a real cockpit then Battlefield. Next to that, in battlefield you can slow down your jet to speeds where in Arma it would start to stall, you can go much higher and faster but again, this brings challenges. In Battlefield you can almost turn your jet like a car, its easy to use the yaw controls to achieve this, but in Arma you turn fastest by banking and pulling some g's. Its up to you how realistic you want it, by default its pretty tricky and takes real effort to master it. I use mods that make it even more realistic. Finally, in Battlefield you can just spray and shoot away all you want and your ammo will magically replenish. In Arma, what you see is what you get. You got 2 missles, 4 bombs and 14 rockets under your wings? That means you can shoot 2 missiles, 4 bombs and 14 rockets. Pilots are a special breed of gamers and in my opinion a minority. So getting another on board is always great. Good luck and have fun!!
