  1. Emita City version 1.12 I'm now releasing Emita City v1.12 Emita City is a 5x5km island. It started out as a project intended as a training ground for MOUT. But as I learned how to use the mod tools, I wanted to create a full island instead. It contains a city that is approximatly twice the size of Zargabad. The city is surrounded by a long coast to the north and flat agricultural areas to the south. In the middle of the map there is a small civilian airfield. There's been alot of polishing of the map. Unfortunatly I have very limited time for Arma2, so there's not as many fixes and improvements as I would have liked to see. But, it's not the last update to come! Some of the changes: v1.12 -Fixed missing textures. -Removed some stray buildings. v1.1 -Improved support for the Ambient Combat Module. -Improved the airfield. -Added some proper textures to parkinglots and inside the warehouses. -Fixed the cutsom objects so you can't shoot through them. -Remade some of the city center. -Added more highrises in the southwest city. -Added new village, Kirseberg. -Added a new custom highrise. -Improved config-file, thanks PvPscene! -Added more vegetation to the city. Known bugs: -AI can't use the hotel and custom highrise. -At some places the beton and forest groundtextures mix up. -You can fall through the carrier in the east harbour. I haven't managed to get the AI paths to work inside my custom buildings yet, but as sonn as I manage there will be a hotfix or an update. Then there will probably also be more custom buildings!   2. Hey guys! I now release a test version of a map containing my New York inspired buildings. The reason for the release is to gather info about how it performs and how I should progress with this project. It contains ~30 custom buildings, most of them fully enterable (some have 30+ floors!). It's still in the middle of the development process, in other words ALOT of unfinished stuff. The island is extremly simple, there is hardly any decorative objects. Also the buildings are very empty, since furniture decrease performance alot. So before adding any details like furniture and stuff in the alleys I need to know how it performs in a clean and simple state. READ THIS BELLOW CAREFULLY! I ask you to read the "Known bugs list" bellow before posting any bugs. To help me, focus on answering these questions: How does it perform? Should the map be bigger/less decorated or smaller/more decorated? How do you play the map, against AI or PvP? What should I focus on? Report other bugs!! And not how empty the buildings are or lame the map is, remember it's released in the middle of development and I need many more months to actually complete it! All suggestions and ideas are of course appreciated! The buildings are the main addon, the terrain is just for testing purposes.     Hey dcal! The Arma 2 version was just brought up to the same version as Arma 3, nothing new in that one! But I'm working on v0.6 for Arma 3, but no ETA yet.

  9. Hey! I've started to work on some buildings inspired by structures from Manhattan. They are very low quality at the moment for two reasons, my lacking modelling skills and performance reasons (I want to be able to put alot of buildings in a small space). I'm not sure where this project is heading yet, it depends on how I manage to get the skyscrapers functional and useable. It might become a building addon only, a small PvP map or hopefully a fully functional minihattan map.

    Yes, that's correct. There is still a few buildings missing geometryLods... It will be solved soon enough. Some buildings got more attention than others as you can see. Did anyone find the sewer lid yet?

    Yes, the Hotel and a few other buidlings is missing geometry on the floors which makes grenades fall through. But it has Fire geometry which stops the bullets. Will fix soon enough. I had it removed since it seemed to prevent the AI from going there. Yes, so far there is no more destruction added except the Hotel. And it should be two possible pieces to blast away. This version is mostly bugfixes, but I left that experimental destruction in for testing. Which buildings are still falling through the ground? All other buildings or just a few? Yes, Charons Urban pack requries CAData, but they way I implemented it I don't use that config anyway. So I will ask Charon if I would be allowed to modify or remove the config.     Yes, I tried adding one now... No luck! The shadowLod is a simple square that I sharpened and triangalized. In GeoLod I added sbsource = shadowVolume

    Approximatly 45x25x30. It's like the shadowLod gets occluded when it's out of your FOV.

    Thanks Froggyluv! I noticed aswell that the signs, fireescapes and billboards makew alot of difference. I will add more of that! And the alleys need to be work on, currently it is uust grey space between buildings. Destruction will be implemented at some point! Must be a conflict between the mods. I fixed a few buildings so that they cannot be destroyed at all, but probably missed a few. Will work on destruction later on! 2. Yes, need to work more on this for sure! 3. Same here, it's only half finished. I need alot of testing to get the AI working correctly, but I havn't prioriticed it yet. Looking forward to the mission!

  24. Hey there! I'm having this weird issues with some buildings when player is inside another building or just near a sidewalk or building: It's probably "Z-fighting"? How can I solve this? In some cases the glass texture is close to another texture which might cause it, but in some cases the textures are very far apart. These cases where the textures actually are far apart is what mostly bothers me!?! Thanks in advance! /Bracer

    Yes, that sounds like an idea! I tried at some point, but since the material is slightly shinig, it's quite obvious when the lod switches to the one without the glass. I will work on it for version 0.6. Thanks for the help M1lkm8n!
