Im trying to apply this patch but it doesnt work, OA (Steam version) still opens at 87580, why is this happening??

A few days ago I tried to combine Arma II and OA together into combined operations, I followed the instructions on this forum, then installed this build:

but it didnt go as planned. when I run OA, arma II isnt there and I get an error of 2 files missing.

the Problem is OA was a steam install so im afraid I messed up that install and id have to download it all over again which will take me a few more days...

Ok so since I never really played Arma in my life I have no real knowledge of it, is that gonna stop me from getting help here?

Im a noob with arma but not with computers, Il edit registry if needed but I need clear steps...

The steam OA install isnt working right, I dont see a way of getting it to its original state/version and all the servers in multiplayer are marked red so I dont even have OA anymore. Im utterly confused on what to do.

Your post is even more vague. You get an error 'of a couple of files missing' ??

How about you list the file names, and even better, include your RPT file :D

I would if I knew where its located :p (yes I am a total arma noob here...)

This is not working at all...

this is what I did:

1) Installed Arma II from DVD into the steam version of OA

2) Validated integrity of game files in steam.

3) installed this:

ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_86705.zip

4) ran the game from _runA2CO.cmd

I get an error of a couple of missing files and thats it...

about digital DLs I always go with steam, unlimited DLs, good prices (weekend offers) and helpful support.

but you need to always check activation policy of the website your buying from...

either way, as long as theres no limited number of installs i will be happy. you have no idea how many times i need to install these games...

Ive been looking everywhere for an answer to these questions:

1.does my retail key have a limited number of activations? how many times?

2.is there a way to revoke an activation by uninstalling the game?

3.if I run out of activations who should I contact (in other words beg) for more activations?

Now id really REALLY appreciate a straight simple answer here, if your not sure dont say anything.
