  1. Howdy! Some of you might have heard about a browser game called NationStates. It's a game where you try to rule a country, make decisions etc.

Anyway, I was planning to use ArmA 2 for roleplaying purposes (for pictures of my army attacking different places etc). The problem is that most of the vehicles have text that links them to some other nations ('United States Army' in the tail of AH-64 for example).

My request is that someone could edit the texture files of all US and USMC aircraft, cars and armored vehicles and remove all references to the United States and replace them with these.

If you want, you could also edit the infantry. However, that is not necessary. But I would really appreciate if you could edit the default rifleman, I don't really care about the rest.

United States Armed Forces = Hippostanian Armed Forces

United States Army = Hippostanian Army

United States Marine Corps = Hippostanian Marine Corps

United States Air Force = Hippostanian Air Force

United States Navy = Hippostanian Navy

Replace the default roundel with this:

    Here's my national flag

    hippostaniaflag2000.png

And in case you didn't already guess, the name of my country is Hippostania

  2. I'd love to play small co-op missions, but I can't find any ;<

And I'd love to play huge PvP battles too, but none of them really is ''huge'', and the only one that is huge (BerZerk), sucks because the players just play their own deathmatch, and there is no co-ordination or teamwork.

EDIT: Oops, sorry for lifting this thread up, I accidentally thought that the last post was made on October 20th, not 10th..

  3. Hello, I just downloaded this game from Steam, and I already have problems. I tried to make my own mission, using the mission editor, however, it didn't work. I tried to spawn Ambient civilian, ambient civilian vehicle and ambient animal modules, but none of them worked. I also tried to spawn a motorcycle, next to me, but some guy was already driving that. I know that it is possible to share missions, so I woudl appreciate if someone could make this mission for me. It's very easy to mak

-Ambient civilian vehicle, civilian and animal modules

    -Midday, july, no rain

    -Spawning in Chernogorsk

-1 motorcycle next to the spawn

-No other soldiers, only me, civilians and animals.

    Thanks in advance! ;)

  4. Hi and welcome to ArmAII. When you create your mission, just drop in the ambient civilians module, ambient civilian vehicles module and the ambient animals module to bring your world to life. You place these modules by using the F7 key in the editor and can just drop them anywhere on the map. No need to synch them to other units. Then just have fun driving or flying around exploring and seeing some Chernarussian life.

I see.. But how many modules do I have to drop to make the entire Chernarus come to life? Is one enough or do I have to place them like, every 500 meters?

  5. Yep. Chernorussian's speak Czech and I believe they write in Czech Cyrillic blend

That's pretty weird. I thought Chernorussian would be gibberish based on russian :D

But i'm going to watch a movie now, so bye! If someone still wants to post pictures for me, I'll apperciate it. BYEE! :)

  6. Thy cyrillic signs are not 100% cyrillic, IIRC it's more a mix of cyrillic and czech.

As for the nice community, well you will find such people as mentioned here too every here and then. ;)

I see.. Does that mean ''Chernorussian = Czech written with cyrillic alphabet''?

And it's nice that I haven't encontered that kind of people yet, and I hope I never will ;)

  7. Thanks! I noticed an error in that blue sign. It says ''MCTA 3'', but shouldn't it read ''MYCTA''? I don't know a lot about cyrillic alphabet, but I do know that it's spelled incorrectly.

  8. Thanks a lot! I'd appreciate if you could take pictures of those big blue direction signs at intersections, a sign indicating the distance to the nearest city and city sign of Elektrozavodsk.

Btw, ArmA 2 community seems really nice. At some game forums, some people just say ''GTFO NOOB'', but here, people have kindly answered my questions and given me snapshots I asked. I am downloading this game right now, but because of my slow internet connection, I'll be able to play it on sunday evening. Can't wait..

  9. There are train models in game, but they can't drive :( It is an engine limitation. But in the editor you can place everything(!) and just drive around enjoying the beautiful nature of chernarus

Ok, thanks. Chernarus really looks beautiful. :3

Btw, have you guys played ArmA 2 so much that you don't get lost even though you don't have a map?

  10. 1.) Nope, it doesn't limit you, you can just keep walking, driving, flying, swimming, etc.

2.) I don't remember on this one I don't use them too often.

3.) I don't know if you can just spawn a car in the missions that come with the game, unless you open them up and edit them but you can edit your own missions and just throw in a car or a helicopter or whatever. That is one of the best features of the game. Pretty much if you can think it, there is a way to do it in this game.

Thank you very much. I think I'll buy this game and then just create a mission with no enemies and huge loads of planes and other cool stuff. :)

Oh.. And I appreciate if someone could take a few snapshots from the city/direction signs from this game. Don't ask why, I think they are just interesting :D

I apologize the double post, but I was thinking that is it possible to organize bombings (like in Mercenaries 2). Like, you could choose a target and a plane drops a bomb to that target. Is that possible? And.. Few minutes ago, I saw a YouTube video of about 50 C-130's crashing. Was that created with mission editor, was it part of a mission or was it created in multiplayer?

Here is the link to the video:

  11. I am planning to buy ArmA 2 in a few days, but before I do that, I want to some questions answered

    1) Are there invisible walls at the ends of the gameplay area? How does the game stop me from going over the game area limits?

    2) Are the streetsigns written in cyrillic or latin alphabet, and is it possible to get lost?

    3) This is the most important question of all.

I really don't enjoy playing missions. When I buy the game, I just want to take a car or a bike and travel around the countryside without getting shot, and maybe spawn a helicopter or a plane and fly around a bit. Is this possible? Or do I have to play missions all the time? Is there a mod that could remove all enemies? And can I just spawn a helicopter/plane/car with cheats?

If you answer, thanks in advance. ;)
