I would love bayonets. As long as it wasn't like a counter-strike "IM SO PRO" running around at high speed and killing everyone in one stab like a crazy person style of attack... The bayonets would have to be nice and realistic, so as not to spoil the gaming for tactical players. Why does everyone think that adding something not traditionally in realistic games will instantly turn the game into Counter Strike? I mean seriously, when you play the game now, what do you do if someone's running towards you? You shoot him, right? If he's doing the same thing, but there's a sharp pointy thing on the end of his gun, what do you do? You shoot him, of course!
If you say that there's no CQC in Arma, then you tell me how the hell you're supposed to take a town/building? Snipe everyone? There's a good chance that you didn't get a lot of them. Bomb the shit out of it? What if you have no artillery/CAS? What if you need the town as a defensive position?
And even if a bayonet isn't useful to YOUR type of play, how is it going to hurt anything? All they have different is a (optional) last ditch tool to kill someone at extremely close quarters. That isn't going to change a thing for you if you're sniping them from a kilometer away.
A bunch of CS kiddies aren't going to flood the games either, just because there's a bayonet added.

A bullet isn't going to instantly kill someone as long as it doesn't fuck up the CNS.

One thing i missing in ArmA2 Game are some Knife Attack movements for close quarter comebats.Could someone do this as an Addon for ArmA2??
For example an Knife Attack from behind to an enemy to knock him out!
That would be very cool for an SF Operation where you have to kill your enemy silently from behind !!
If anyone knows how to do that please tell me..:)
A bayonet would be better and more realistic than a knife. And, uh, a knife kill wouldn't really be all that silent. Knocking him out might work, I guess...
THEN kill him with the knife.
But seriously, if stealth is one of your primary concerns, then you should probably have a silenced weapon on you.
Noobs will start running around with knifes I think and this game is not stupid CSAnd if someone's going to run around with just a knife, trying to get UBER KILLS, then they aren't going to play this game for very long anyway. I mean honestly, what's with everyone's fear of this game turning into CS/BF/COD4/Whatever? Adding a knife/bayonet isn't going to make everyone run around looking for knife kills.

Having the bayonet shouldn't turn your rifle into the Grim Reaper. There needs to be some level of control to the stabbing, or at least script it so it only works on enemy sides.
I like that your concept makes it important that you're facing the enemy and have a level of control over your muzzle; which is something that a fully automated system like our old one could not do; but that did ensure only the enemy got stabbed.
So, what would happen if two people tried to stab each other at once? Epic bayonet fight, anyone?

Actually the degraded aiming over fatigue is way over-done. The actual effect isn't overdone, but you reach to the point of maximum fatigue after running a pretty damn short distance. The rate at which you get tired while running should be GREATLY reduced.+1
I shouldn't be too tired to hold a gun up after jogging a short distance.

with mp5's for the 2 medics.
Why do some people seem to think that medics can only use SMGs?

...And besides, nothing says,"I'm fucked and going to die, but I'm going to go out in a blaze of glory," like a last ditch bayonet charge.
And what's really funny about it, is that there's a chance that it will actually work.

I don't think knives would be helpful, but bayonets certainly would be. Sometimes you just have to reach out and touch someone.
With a bayonet.

It would give an actual use for a knife...
