    If your a pilot, does the gun slave to your head movement when you select gun and manual fire? This would be a buying argument for me.

    That would be slick if it did, but no. I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor on buying a trackir though. You would just be shorting yourself if you enjoy flying.

    That would be a nice suggestion for the Ace mod team though ;).

    I've seen another user here post that they are actually crashing when zooming in on trees. I know they made adjustments in this patch to foliage regarding ballistics/penetration, so i'm wondering if that may have something to do with it.

    System specs:

    E6600 @ 2.4

    GTX 260

    SB X-Fi

    Windows XP

    All drivers up to date.

    1.2, game ran nicely with the settings I had. 1.03, zooming in to any degree with grass or leaves about midrange drastically affects fps. I've seen it go from 35 down to 9.

    Well I selected the third option. I posted a thread in troubleshooting regarding why. It seems foliage is causing some huge fps loss now in 1.03. Where I was once getting 40ish fps zoomed in on leaves, or grassy areas, i'm now chugging along at 15 fps or so. Sucked all the enjoyment out of doing missions with squadmates on maps with grass on full, etc.

    Not at all. I sit at my normal distance from the monitor, and it picks up head motions flawlessly. I just recieved my trackir 5 yesterday, and I have to say, it is pretty amazing. 150 bucks well spent if you ask me.

    Devs may want to look at any changes made to the foliage, cause it is causing massive drops in fps, especially when zoomed in on. Prior to 1.03 zooming in would actually cause a slight increase in fps. Now, however, zooming on grass, or leaves causes drops as much as 20-30 fps. Missions that were playable with grass on full are a complete wreck now, when its knocked down to 15 fps when I zoom in to fire. I've got object detail on normal. I can't imagine how bad it would get if I turned it up to highest...my system would probably grow a hand and slap me in the face for trying.

    Hopefully you are, or will look into this.
