I'm really enjoying this too, despite its little flaws it is an amazing game. Best FPS I've played since HL2, honestly
-
Another great one JW, thanks
-
Had a quick go there and its a good mission, very hard, which is what I like. I've only tried it as a single player so far as all the others in our group are busy playing other games these days, but I'll get a gang together one of the days and report back
-
At the very bottom of the site there's a link. Press the button saying download! Its there now, thanks. Wasn't there when I first tried, I even did a ctrl+f search on the page for "ruin"
-
Link? Its not on that downoad webpage JW, maybe You forgot upload it
-
But it can be used for flying, lots of peeps on here use one for flying only.
I doubt You'd have enough buttons and controls for the movements and commands in game though

...........and thats without the extra Ace controls

Thats 7 dollars too much

I prefer that you help us with that project out ;) -> http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=88362I'd love to see You help them do Kiska/Skira also

It just occurred to me that Duala would make a perfect setting for a District 9 mod :DAll we need is an MNU and Prawns faction (and possibly the arms dealers too ;) )
Cheers
That would be cool, I was very suprised after watching it to realise there wasn't a game, could make a great one if done right

Its Sunday, Relax, He's prob havin' a beer, I know I am

I've tried to get into STALKER a few times but it just doesn't take. Maybe I'll give it another try :)
Play the first, then revisit it with the Oblivion Lost mod, absolutely amazing, it balances the weapons and speeds up some of the mundane tasks and gives a whole new life to the game. STALKER has its own modding community (not as big as ArmA), some of the models have been ported into ArmA 2

I've just realised my Ace key isn't working ingame, although its working in Windows and bound in the config. Anyone any ideas?
class ace_sys_interaction { class Interaction_Menu { key = 220; // win l shift = 0; }; };---------- Post added at 15:38 ---------- Previous post was at 14:52 ----------
NVM, this sorted it for me
Hopefully it'll help someone else by posting it here

I can not disbale the radio chatter, any pointers?I am editing the correct file I believe, the same one with the NOCROSS option in,
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\userconfig\ACE\ace_clientside_config.hpp
I removed the two // marks, but to no avail. On the flip side, enabling crossairs works just fine.
Thanks,
Mike.
Try doing the ~\arma 2\@ACE\userconfig\ACE\ace_clientside_config.hpp

Oh, I see. I've been using mumble for a while, it's much better than Teamspeak, but I haven't used the positional stuff yet. Does it still work over long distances? Can I still hear my teammate if he's 10 km away?Thats completely up to You :D

This works as it is, but I guess not only does mumble have to support the game, the game has to support mumble. Its a great feature that could be enhanced if more people if voted for it
-
Is that what it does? Give a directional element to the comms?Yep, quite handy. I know which direction my team mates are when they speak as I have 5.1 surround and a desktop mic
-
I've been using it, positional audio sort of works. I do hear my team talking from surround channels. Can we expect mumble linking ingame in the next beta patch?
Pity they're calling it Armed Assault 2

They go in the ban.txt in the game directory, If you don't have one make one.
Process for banning a player:
- Type #userlist
- Open the chat up again and use page up or down to scroll the list and find the player you want to ban
- Remember the number IN FRONT of the players name (example: 54: Ban me (30ms))
- Type #exec ban 54
You do not need his game ID.

Belkin make some terrible rubbish, nothing but bother, reset themselves for no reason and just about last through warranty

Default reads whats detected in the Arma2.cfg, so manually set it to default and change the config to the value fo the ram You got (make read only so it can't change back). I got a 4870x2, so I got 1GB vram (x2 has 1GB each card, not 2GB) and use localVRAM=1073741824; (as its in bytes)
-
Ah, I didn't have it set up in options/controls. :)Works nicely. Many thanks.
Enjoy it, took me ages to tweak it.
Arma needs slight deadzones or else the TrackIR is constantly moving causing blur. I've an extra big deadzone for zoom as this is the most nauseating. I tend to use the right click zoom more when looking left & right while running and use trackir for situations like lying prone sniping, in an aircraft etc, its handy have both.
-
I've tried that profile, it doesn't have any leaning in it.Yes it does, x axis is lean
-
Like to try my profile? I've been tweaking it to my liking for months, see what You think. I feel I got the deadzones just right, may need adjustment to Your monitor size as I game on a 24".

Nice mission, 3 of us tried it a few times with AI disabled and very nearly made it. Will try again tomorrow.
