  1. Hey all, I have a simple end trigger to go off 12 seconds after objective accomplishment. Imediately after same objective is complete i have a trigger with

    titleText ["BLUFOR Wins!", "BLACK"]

    This works fine, screen goes black, displays text but than just hangs and my end trigger never activates. Delete the titletext trigger and the end trigger works just dandy. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.


  2. Bomb Da Base Mission Pack 1.0 TVT 16, 24, 32

    CTF (Capture the Bomb)

    Time Limit: 30, 45, and 60 Minutes

    Objectives: Attack enemy base & protect your own teams cache

    You must work as a team to rush acquire Satchel Charges from the centrally located Bomb Stash. Whoever has ground superiority at the bomb stash has the power. The bomb stash refills only every 5 minutes.

    You must protect the bomb carriers on your team. Use stealth, rush, or flank around your enemies defenses to infiltrate their base and destroy their ammo cache, while all the while protecting your own ammo cache against them.

    Features and Tips:

    Bases where you ammo cache is located and spawn areas are separate. In some cases it can take a while to reach your base from the spawn. Utilize vehicles is available and ensure you have a squad guarding against the enemy rush.

    Plant anti-personal and vehicle mines around your base in the early minutes of the round! Just be sure to call them out to your team mates.

    Vehicles and ammo crates at your spawn re spawn but vehicles and crates at your base do not! Protect these along with your cache!

    With respawn on, it will be a constant back and forth battle for satchels. Check dead enemies and fallen comrades for satchels before the cleaning script buries them. Check back at the stash often.

    Utilize gear boxes at spawn and bases to help you in your infiltration. ie Scuba Gear :)

    He who controls the Bomb Stash wins, but don't neglect defense or the attack.

    Your enemy is sure to have over watch and snipers at the stash. Use smoke and move as a team.

    To Do:

    Add, construct and tweak base fortifications.

    Add content as ALPHA progresses.

    Tweak balancing of Bomb Stash refill times.

    Introduce more Mechanics and features

    Parameter Toggles including no re spawn mode ala SOCOM US Navy Seals

    Briefing Imformation

    This set of 4 missions (more to come) is as close as I've seen ARMA 2 or 3 come to an actual CTF style seek and destroy. I have been an ARMA fan since 09 and have been messing with the editor since. This is my first mission I have uploaded. I had a lot of fun making it and hope you all have a lot of fun playing it.

    Please provide as much feedback as you can/like, report bugs, and feel free to invite me to the server if you should host it. ;)

    Known Bugs: Most of the time when you go for your first satchel it will disappear. The second one usually works and is placed in your backpack.

    You do not respawn with the backpack needed to carry satchels. You must get one out of the middle crate at your spawn if you wish to carry satchels.

    Bomb Stash Refill notifications are a little sketchy. Let me know if they are not displayed for you.


  3. Should the clipboard come up on screen or do I have to find it in Arma directory. In any case, even with the clipboard script the cache simply is invisible. I assume the clipboard script event handler dosent care WHAT destroys the cache, it is just suppose to tell me what destroyed it, right?

    EDIT---- Hey bud thanks so much for your help got it to work! Like you said just a case of mistaken classname. Satchelcharge ammo. Thanks again!


  4. I certainly agree with the context sensitive vault and I would love to see more context sensitive animation in general. Lowering the gun against walls, putting your hand against buildings etc, but I dont think this is remotely possible with the core RV engine. They just don't have the framework for the player model to know what is in front of it.


  5. I do have an SSD but...I always had ARMA 3 on SSD soo....hmm well in any case I am much happier with the game. I did however end up sticking with 150% 3d res instead of 200. Why would 50% make such a huge difference on a 4GB VRAM card? I did have better FPS at 200% however so that is not the sole cause of my better frames.

    Also just so noone mistakens Dwarden, he means defragging HDD, you should never Defrag SSDs.


  6. So, dont get me wrong, although I have been a heavy voice on features promised or showcased and than removed the game is brilliant and I am sure will get better. However, this is yet ANOTHER feature that is showcased toted as revolutionary in terms of new engine features (TOH FM, Java, sound engine attenuation) not being included (yes I know it's alpha but some of these things are rumored of never being in at all)

    Like someone said earlier this ganeva convention thing sound more like lazyness on the part of BI than a legit defense. While I certainly can never see conventional western ground forces breaking this LOAC, CIA, special forces and naughty eastern militaries can and do. Speacial forces are sometimes given a lot of leeway in this regard. US SOCOM allowed use of hollow points for example come to mind.


  7. Something had to have. Server sync has been markedly improved. Very little server lag that I have seen, that may just be good servers or netcode optimization. I don't know why they wouldn't want us to know. The game really does show it's awesomeness at high fidelity high FPS. Even the animations look better now. Whatever has happened whether BI or local to my computer I am thankful.


  8. I don't know what I did or what happened but all of a sudden I have 40+ frames in most areas with everything maxed, 150% 3D res, 1080p on a 42 inch LCD and VYSNC on! I'm happy but at the same time I wish I knew what changed. A noticeable negative of whatever changed is my load times have skyrocketed and I have ugly texture load and lag the first 5 seconds in the editor. Was there a push for those enrolled in beta build updating?

    Edit: The only thing I did was add ARMA 3 into my nvidia control panel but all settings remain defaulted.


  9. 200% resolution? Are you using AA also as that would be overkill and kill your performance. I think the added VRAM better helps with texture integrity than bumping your FPS up but I could be wrong.

    Yes, I CAN certainly disable SMAA or FXAA but turning off the MSAA? the one that has X4 X8 etc is a notable hit in fidelity. I do however like SMAA on because it adds a certain shading to things that other wise isnt there? In any case the FPS difference is negligible.


  10. Something to try guys!! If you have hyperthreading and an NVIDIA card try using the threaded optimzation toggle in the control panel. I saw insanely extended load times but I believe I saw a slight FPS inscrease. This is with no AI on map. I dont know, maybe its just placebo affects. In any case it was not worth the added load time but something to explore perhaps?

    Crap, never mind. Upon disabling this I still had increased load times but also this slight FPS increase. I don't know what changed....


  11. Can someone help me optimize?

    Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3

    i7 2700k UEFI BIOS OCd at 3.9ghz (i think)

    GTX 680 4GB VRAM (does added vram matter or help with Arma?)

    16 GB RAM (no pagefile)

    Windows 8 (Eh)

    PSU is 600W and I feel like after using a coomputer power calculator im estimated at 504 without any OCs.

    I am running great, dont get me wrong but I want to squeeze all I can out of the ALPHA build so that when engine optimization hits I will be smooth as butter at 200% resolution everything high. Yes, I want to be greedy but am not very computer savvy.
