    Bigfoot...has anyone found him?

Yup, same thing. I was going to post this same response, but he says "Did you see that?" then you reply something like "No what?" or "huh?" then he says, "oh nevermind, forget it." It's when you just finish painting targets and head into town in singleplayer. I know when he says it, and save right before, and i've looked all over, and haven't seen anything. One guy during a multiplayer game was screaming over voice chat that they shot at him, but he ran into the woods. Can't confirm that though. Personally, I think they were shooting at a sniper in ghillie suit. See the resemblance?

    Floating zone poll

also having it turned up reduces your movement. Meaning you can turn your gun without moving your body which signals to the enemy your position. Having Track/IR helps cause you can move without changing positions. I also use freelook alot. I have mine maxed out. once you get used to it, it's better IMHO.

Tell me this didn't just happen.

I think you're right, something must have been watching me or something. I redid the same thing in the simulator. Same town, same spot I was "in ambush" aka "Camping. Set up two Abrams in the town and set them on alert status. I booted out my driver (still wish you could tell your driver to shut off the engines without him turning them on). Put two spotters in the woods in stealth/do not fire mode. And waited. Both tanks started driving around I guess randomly looking for something, I dunno. Then one tank came out of town and started looking around. I didn't fire, I just wanted to watch what he would do. But here's something odd. As soon as I "targeted" (right mouse click) the tank, and the turret turned, he stopped and started moving his front armor towards me. I mean RIGHT TOWARDS ME. Then I fired. Took out a piece of him. Then the other tank naturally BEELINED for me. I jumped in the drivers seat and took off leaving my idiot driver laying on the ground. I know i could just make the mission without a driver etc, but I wanted to re-create what was going on. Maybe they saw my driver or my spotters I dunno. That front armor turning toward me on the slightest sound has me bugged though. Gonna mess with it some more.

Original OP here. It was late, and I wanted to try a tactic since I knew they were coming out of their base. Yes! I was camping! I was camping so long, I made a fire, pitched a tent, went to roast marshmallows, (but the raccoons ate em). But I had my T-90 with it's frontal armor aimed right at the only exit out of that town. - Maybe if someone that actually manned a real Abrams would just say on here, "yeah we can do that." I wouldn't be so baffled. And if they really COULD do that, no country in the world would even think of attacking someone with an Abrams in their arsenal. I think also I spent so much time setting up my ambush and prodding my spotters through the trees on their bellies. Only to have him flying out of town at top speed, target, have it's turret turn and fire, in an instant. It just doesn't make for a fun game. Yeah, I'll fiddle with the AI precision a bit because the enemy is just like trying to fight an Empire full of Clones.

    DirectX10?

I agree with this. Vista is about 20% slower in arma in my armamark2 scores than XP. So I duel booted.

Also, I was sort of down in a deep open bowl/valley. He was on the other side of the hill in town. I could hear his engines since mine were off. What prompted him to just kick it in gear and fly out of there? I also had two scouts in stealth mode crawling up and looking in the town (man the crawl slow). So I knew right where he was, but he would have had to clear the town, scanned, locked, and fired. While I had the drop on him and couldn't do a thing.
  7. Ok, same subject, different viewpoint. Ever notice you're running over a hill, then suddenly you scream out to your squadmates, "Enemy tank in Vorchickacnki" or what-the-f-ever (all the towns sound like someone sneezing anyway.) but you "see" this tank way the hell in to the distance. How can I see something through trees, and over two hills, and in between buildings 2K meters away? I think the AI does the same thing.
  8. What I wonder about is: A) Do they "SEE" in all 360deg pattern or a 90deg field of view from their eyeballs. I've seen AI walk passed me and without me moving, one of them spins around and one shots me. B) Is it the superman type hearing that can hear me wiggle in the grass 50m away? In any case, it appears to be running some sort of "check" with some seeding on when that "check" was done. Man they seem to know right where you are sometimes. ---------- Post added at 09:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 AM ---------- Heh, I like that quote, but what happens when you understood it enough to forget?
  9. I got car sick once and there was no disclaimer in the Owners Manual. Wonder if I could sue GM?
