  1. Tracers (at least german ones) in fact are only visible from the back. Enemies beeing shot with tracers don´t see tracers flying towards 'em.

Wow, that's interesting. I'll be leaving this up to BIS though as I'm guessing it was their decision to have tracers as they are right now.

tracer is visible in the day:):ok:

    Great to know :D

  2. Yeah, I've noticed that as long as you aren't looking at the tracer start point then the tracer will show up but if you are then it's not visible at all, it's very strange. I think if I want to make it so tracers are visible when flying at you I'll have to disable the game's tracers and script in a visual effect of one which is too much work for me heh.

  3. I believe the tracers not being visible is because of the way the engine handles the texture of the tracer. It seems to only have a texture for the back and the side of the bullet however I need to open up the model file to see how the texture is applied exactly.

The only way I could probably fix this is by making a new tracer model but that may be more effort than it's worth and may cause MP conflicts :(.

I also don't understand why VOP was conflicting with the mod, must be something strange in it's internal configuration file. As long as the newer version works fine with this mod all is well :).

  4. The problem with making this a script is right now it simply edits the config files which you can't do via scripting. I also have pretty limited scripting knowledge which pretty much makes this impossible to do without large amounts of help. I would really like to make this a script but I honestly can't see this being possible.

And for those that can't get this working be sure to read the readme, if you've followed all of those instructions there might be a mod conflict in which case I want you to post a list of all the addons you are currently using and I'll see if there could be a problem with that.

Also, oldy I've already got the next version configured for that and I'll be releasing the config file on it's own for extra weapon addons for those who don't know how to add it themselves. Once I push out the next release.

  5. *sigh, I've tried getting it working but the only way which works is editing the mod itself. But on the bright side it's gotten me to create a config file instead of the infinite number of folders :) Link will be up shortly with release notes.

Edit: I completely fubar'd adding the modded weapon in and just realized it now, I've gotten it to work... :dead:

    Edit2: Uploaded new version

  6. The tracers are visible during the day but they can be a bit more difficult to see, when it's darker out though it is much easier to see the tracers flying all over the place. I'm probably not going to change the brightness or anything of the tracers as they seem fairly accurate on their own anyways. The only thing I may do is decrease the colour in the tracers as they seem a little too green/red.

  7. Eh, sorry guys, I completely forgot about adding in the /addons part, I typically put all my addons in the same folder and I kinda rushed sticking them all into folders. I'll put an updated version for easier installation and I'll make a default one to select for those having troubles understanding how to select from the tracer patterns.

Also the last 4 rounds being tracers was default on the machineguns for a while I believe and I just kept it at 4 for the rifles. I wasn't able to find any data anywhere on how they arrange tracers at the end of a magazine for rifles so I just kept it how it was for machineguns as I found it helped a fair amount anyways.

EDIT: LINK UPDATED IN 1ST POST

  8. Overview:

This addon enables tracers and tracer pattern modification for all weapons that use 556x45, 545x39, 762x51, and 762x54 rounds. It however does NOT enable tracers on the 20 round STANAG magazines or any of the silenced weapons. This addon also changes how vehicle tracers look and behave as of v1.2. I've intentionally left the 762x39 rounds as they are because guerrilla/terrorist forces typically don't use tracers on their weaponry. There is no way to disable tracers on a per faction basis without doing loads of editing that will make this MP incompatible (except on servers that run this addon). Another note is incoming tracers will not be visible; I have no idea why this occurs and am looking into it.

If you need help, read the readme first!

Comes with a key and is signed.

Any help with possibly making this an on-the-fly changeable addon (adjustable tracer patterns in-game) would be greatly appreciated.

Requests for compatibility with weapon addons can be placed in the forum or sent via PM to me.

Please post any found bugs here or PM me.

I made that video to showcase the difference between the 1.03 patch and the latest beta patch. You can obviously see tracers being fired in the beta but you can't hear the MG's firing, there is also MUCH more firing you can hear in the non-beta. You should be able to hear nearly the same amount of firing in both the beta and non-beta but instead there is a massive difference.

I run off of on-board sound on a 750i SLI FTW motherboard.

  10. The sound glitch I get isn't like Fansadox's though, on the end of his second video (around 0:06) where everything goes out and just has a few sounds of static is exactly what my sound problem is like.

I've been using vop, RH heli, hi-fi A-10, d3 weaponfx, and trsm sound mods since 1.02 and haven't had a single problem until now.

  11. I've gotten the same problem with static and distortion however it is with realtek onboard sound with my 750i SLI FTW motherboard. It only started happening in patch 1.03 and I have my sound in-game at 20%. It only happens when multiple sounds are going off but it has NEVER happened in 1.02.
