Hi, not sure if you still wanna know, but I think I found out how to do this. Create an SOM Module, Sync it to the player, put this in the init box this setVariable [""settings"", [[], true, nil, nil, true]] Should work, sorry if you found this already!

VFAI - AI Extension - ARMA II
DJH replied to VictorFarbau's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Great addon, by the end of long missions I end up with medics with RPG-7s, machinegunners with a nicked PKP, etc. Nice to see the single-shot AT weapons being dropped after use as well [RPG-18, etc.] Slight problem with AI chucking smoke when they hurt themselves by jumping out of choppers/trucks, etc. But not a problem with the addon as much as the AI for injuring themselves in the first place! -
I get the same thing Keycat, have a look around and its like your own 5m halo of shimmering ground lol. Very annoying, but not a showstopper

ArmA 2 Buglist - Content related bugs only
DJH replied to Red_153D's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Not seen this, sorry if its already reported... When the UAV is requested in secops, the radio text says that the UAV is on its way, but the audio says its "bingo fuel, RTB". When the UAV actually IS out of fuel, the text says "UAV is bingo fuel, rtb", but the audio says "thanks for the update". I also find that the AI gets stuck in and around the static weapons at bases which are spawned by SecOps. If you go near them or teamswitch to them, they usually free themselves, otherwise they're stuck forever. Oh yeah, and the AK107 has an odd problem. From 3D view you can see part of the mechanism [the bolt?] going in and out, but in first person, it doesn't move. See pics below. -
'Cipher' - full dynamic [SP & MP/Coop] with unlimited replayability
DJH replied to wiper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Great mission, had the most minor possible error right at the end. The extraction chopper turned off its engines until we boarded, then it started them again, spun itself around on the spot a couple of times, before the crew abandoned their chopper, one of them made a prayer like action [the gear/hide kneeling animation] towards us during the little 'cut-scene' at the end. Didn't interfere with gameplay, and its nice to be prayed to, just a little odd! I was expecting a lift not an acolyte! -
GMJ Sight Adjustment for ArmA2
DJH replied to noamles's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I agree with noamles, use the 31st MEU reticle pack, it also changes the ballistics which makes the whole game much more realistic [apparently, tho I would have no idea myself!] and makes sniping much much better. The link is in his post... -
A.I. boarding vehicles = Gayest most retarded annoying bug evaar!!
DJH replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Wasn't having a go, just find it funny when people call random things 'Gay', I do it myself and think "Is that stinger that just shot me down actually a gayboy?" Probabbly not... Like I say, didn't take offence [i'm not even gay, so that'd be quite odd anyway] or mean to seem like I was having a go mate! -
ww2 warships addon for arma2 released
DJH replied to gachopin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Well... Yeah, they're also crewed by USMC riflemen, but hey, they don't seem to bail out very often... -
I get the same thing, though on a vastly worse card [9600GT] I wonder if anybody not on Nvidia gets it...

A.I. boarding vehicles = Gayest most retarded annoying bug evaar!!
DJH replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm not sure how its a gay bug... Do they slap eachother in an exaggeratedly camp way and fight over who sits where? Low level bitchiness? "5: Oh no, 12 has tragic shoes", "12: 5, is fat", etc? Is there the eternal Gloria Esteban vs George Michael argument, meaning everybody wants to hold the iPod? Are there any other gay stereotypes they fit? -
ww2 warships addon for arma2 released
DJH replied to gachopin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Absolutely love 'em mate, very ambitious and very different to anything else released for Arma 2 so far, great stuff! I only realised how enormous the crews really are when I heard "Oh no 86 is down" during a convoy mission! -

Everytime I enter a built up area or an area with a lot of AIs the ground and building textures turn white and flicker on and off incessantly. It doesn't effect the interface [ie. its in the background when I raise the pause menu] but lasts between 5-30seconds before CTD. Anybody else get this? Anybody gotten around it? It happens on 1.02 and 1.03 [only started when I installed 1.03, but now keeps happening without it]. It also happens with both 186.18 drivers and the 190.38 new drivers. That leaves me with basically no idea what's causing it! Vista 64bit 9600GT 4GB RAM AMD 7850 BE @3.0ghz
-
Tried installing Windows 7, and a fresh install of drivers and Arma to 1.03. Still happening...
-
[Kinda] glad to know its not just me! I really can't get my head around why it only started after I got 1.03, but persists even on a fresh install of the drivers, game and patch 1.02. Might try a system restore to pre-1.03 and see if it happens on that Edit: Or maybe I won't because all my restore points are auto-created ones from today as I reinstalled all my drivers. Brilliant
-
It wouldn't be too bad if you could uninstall the patches without uninstalling the game, I appreciate it'd be difficult or impossible to have a rollback feature, but it does mean that you get pretty annoyed when each new patch comes out and you have to look at the fixes vs new bugs and decide which version you'd like! [i'm currently doing my 5th install of Arma, patching to 1.02 again because 1.03 and my machine really don't get along well!] That said, patches at least show a willingness and effort to fix the problems, and that should always be applauded.

"Cannot Commit" Crash When Saving the Game
DJH replied to savage_rabbit's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Started getting Cannot Commit errors with new patch. Top stuff -
I get the sound cutting out bug every time anybody sneezes, I get lots more stuttering, I get loads of white shapes [people say triangles, but mine cover the screen almost entirely, just not the interface] and constant CTD either after the white triangley-ness or when trying to save ["cannot commit" error]. So overall, performance down in every aspect- Visuals, Stability, Sound and Playability. Gonna go back to 1.02
-
I've got the same white triangle bug, I think, this is its most extreme incarnation [barring the CTD that followed!] I'm in a T-72 under there... Somewhere... Am I going to have to uninstall and reinstall everything or has some clever camper worked out an easier way? Edit: Sorry, specs AMD 7850 BE @3.0ghz 9600GT (I know, I know) 4GB Corsair Ram Vista (I know, I know)

anyone try Sound mods from Arma1?
DJH replied to CombatComm's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
That certainly puts the Close in Close Air Support! -
Would you like to see a WW2 Eastern Front Mod?
DJH replied to =Spetsnaz='s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
See how fighting them on the beaches would've gone? I like it... But Eastern front doesn't equal Stalingrad, check out the maps here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Front_(World_War_II) for how much ground was covered! -
Would you like to see a WW2 Eastern Front Mod?
DJH replied to =Spetsnaz='s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I see what you mean alpha-kilo, but its always nicer to blow something up when its covered in swastikas. At the same time, there's something undeniably cool about the sinister factor of Waffen SS, etc. That's why all the WW2 re-enactment people are always struggling to find people to be Brits, Russians, US, etc. even normal Wehrmacht, everybody sees the Hugo Boss and goes crazy for it! -
Would you like to see a WW2 Eastern Front Mod?
DJH replied to =Spetsnaz='s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Definitely want an Eastern Front mod, 'graveyard of the Wehrmacht' and all that. I disagree that 'WW2 has been done to death', though there has been a narrow focus, largely on the Western front, with the Eastern front basically being Stalingrad and the capture of the Reichstag.... It'd be nice to be able to simulate the battles in the thousands and thousands of villages of Eastern Europe and Germany that were fought over too! -
I think he means that reinforce is a mission given by SecOps, rather than a support option. Judging by the menu choices to confirm reinforcements, that seems to be the case. Not sure how/if you can modify SecOps to only produce reinforce missions, which would seem to be what's needed here

GMJ Sight Adjustment for ArmA2
DJH replied to noamles's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
@ Al Simmons Certainly sounds more accurate than my "lie down, shoot in face" method! I've found that my ranges work well enough, but like I say, your method sounds like it would return more the precise figures
