    ArmA3Mark - Benchmark your ArmA 3

Do you have the development build selected? Do you see Altis in the editor? If yes try to "Verify Integrity Of Game Cache". edit:@JumpingHubert, I started playing with all the command line parameters and sometime in between runs it reached 45 fps. Reverted all changes and still get 45 fps, can't find any reason why it didn't reach those fps before. edit2:@JumpingHubert, disregard above, it was the -maxmem=2047 command line parameter. With it I get 41 fps, without 45 fps. Didn't catch it 1st time due to a mistype.

    ArmA3Mark - Benchmark your ArmA 3

I set Arma at the same resolution and scaling is done by the monitor so it shouldn't matter. I tried the nvidia settings but nothing changed, anyway as you said test is mostly CPU as both gfx cards are mostly idling at 50% usage without going at their maximum (Hz) speed. Things to check now, disable HT, disable part of memory with msconfig, change gfx drivers, disable SLI etc. The fun never stops when you are playing with Arma 3. :) :icon_neutral: :( :banghead:

    ArmA3Mark - Benchmark your ArmA 3

Tried your settings and all I got was 41 fps. I would expect a bit more or worst case scenario the same. :( PC specs: i7 3930k HT @ 4,8GHz, 16GB 2133 MHz, Win7 64bit on an OCZ Vector 128GB SSD, Arma 3 on a Samsung 840 Pro 500GB SSD, 2 SLI-ed GTX 680 4GB @ 1240 MHz. Win 7 installation is less than a week old running nvidia 326.98. Maybe the beta nvidia drivers are at fault. Don't you have any stutters? Cause with me it when the 2 smokes pop it's a slideshow. Also small stutters when the scenes are quickly panning.
  4. Another user with similar problem : ArmA 3 stops recognizing joystick as controller
  5. Not only Hyperthreading but more cores too. With my 6 core + 6 Hyperthreads maxing CPU usage in one core will show as 8-10% CPU usage and unfortunately Arma is mostly using 1 core. Due to that comparing by total CPU usage has little benefit, better to mention per core usage.
  6. I have the same experience with -maxVRAM not affecting video memory usage, my max usage goes up to 2.5GB for two SLI-ed 680 4GB.
  7. What usb port are you connected to? Can't find it now but someone posted a issue at the feedback tracker where his joystick stopped working when accessing the controls config. He changed the used port from a USB3 one to USB2 and his problem went away. Personally I have no problem with a Logitech G940.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

Maybe they have nothing solid yet to share. Why post about features and optimizations if they are not 100% to be possible?

    Real Virtuality Performance

The topic of the thread is "Real Virtuality Performance" and you posted your thread in "ARMA 3 - GENERAL" with claims of the origin of said engine. Our posts are on topic. Your posts about troubleshooting your pc performance is off topic, it belongs in the "ARMA 3 - BETA TROUBLESHOOTING" area.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

I assume Dwarden is their(Dev-Team) communications guy here in their forums, you could check the profiles and see most of the other BIS members don't post much here in comparison. Still we get much more info for the inner workings of the game in regards to other games and especially business. Surely there must be some things that they can't or won't be open about. They are a business after all.

    Real Virtuality Performance

That's news to me, any source to backup your claim?
  12. But to be able to use these old addons in Arma 3 you need the base games that are dependent on (be it graphics, models, sounds, configs etc.). Nobody could guarantee if they released a reworked version of the old assets that they wouldn't break compatibility with old user made addons, which would probably happen.
  13. There are few if any assets that are duplicated between A2,A2OA,A3 and the obsolete addons for gui, campaigns etc. don't take much space. Even if they came with a pack I don't expect it would take much less space and trying to repack the addons would probably break compatibility with missions and addons for A2OA.
  14. While trying to explore Altis I run to this problem. Having the controls of the Greyhawk UAV and time accelerated for more speed I couldn't keep it steady. It would start wobbling side to side making controlling it impossible. Video below is of it just setting it to fly straight and enabling time acceleration. After a few secs it's going crazy. Disabling time acceleration it will stabilize again (I enable/disable twice in the video). This happens only when I drop under 60FPS (Vsync on). For Stratis I had to set Object VD to 7.5K to drop below 60FPS and start wobbling. Can anyone else reproduce it?

1-2 FPS on Altis and 60 fps on stratis.

If you mean the maxmem parameter, maximum value that you can set is 2047, unless something changed.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

It's up to you. :) Worst case scenario you lose some unsaved data due to a program or OS crash. 8 GB is too low for my liking as I managed to get low memory errors with 6GB. And you have to consider that even if your programs run OK with no pagefile you leave little memory for the OS to use for file caching.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

My personal experiences: - Laptop with 4GB(3.5GB usable) with no pagefile I could run only light memory programs without getting out of memory. I disabled it cause browsing with Firefox was slower with a pagefile enabled due to the constant access to it. - PC with 6GB needs a pagefile or you are bound to get out of memory. Upgraded to 12GB for no pagefile. - Current PC 16GB never used a pagefile.

    ArmA3Mark - Benchmark your ArmA 3

Thanks for the benchmark. Got 43 FPS at 2560*1440 everything maxed, VD 6K, Obj VD 2K. With Obj VD at 3K my FPS drops at single digits(unplayable) when the green smoke pops and some of the fast pans and final score 29 FPS.

CrossFire crash on Arma 2 OA

Does it happen with any other game? Can you run a benchmark program(eg. 3dmark) to test the stability of your pc, maybe your psu isn't powerful enough for the combined cpu/gfx power draw.

    Altis - Info & Discussion

    Greek settlers. :)
  21. This is a server setting. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/BattlEye If you are getting kicked from a server it's because they set it so using the "maxping" parameter. There is nothing that can be done except contacting the server's administrator and asking him to lower the ping requirements or playing on other servers.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

That's false. Once you disable pagefile, it doesn't return until you enable it. I stopped using pagefile with Vista when I first got 12GB RAM and have never used it again, 4+ years now.

    Steam API / Achievements

The way I see it achievements in Arma 3 would be pointless and a waste of time due to the openness of the game. People would create missions, addons and achievement servers that would give you all the achievements in no time. If something can be ranked people will abuse it.
  24. For some unknown reason Arma 2 seems to recognize that you have only 333 MB of VRAM. This used to happen a lot in previous and early versions of the game. Your cpu has an integrated gpu, uninstall any related drivers and disable it from the bios. If it still shows up in device manager disable it there too. If this already done and doesn't work, try other versions of graphics drivers. Go with latest first and then try some older ones.
