    Arma 2 launch problem

What's your graphics card? ArmA 2 requires a graphics card that supports shader model 3. I think, ATI cards that support SM3 are x1xxx and up and Nvidia 6 series and up.

    Arma2 using only 2gb ram?

AFAIK Valve removed 64bit support for Half-Life 2 and Lost Coast. They are now only 32bit.
  3. The things that ArmA 2 stores at Users: -Your profile settings -Missions & campaign Saves -Cache of MP mission you connected -Cache of Sounds and squad logos from other mp players
  4. They are in @ACE\store\userconfig.tar.
  5. Had a similar problem like Wastelander's some versions earlier. SIX-updater finished update but didn't unpack the updated versions, a second run and SIX-updater unpacked the files and update was ready.

Some other points to consider: - molex adapters can come with cheaper/thinner wires = lower amperage - female molex to male molex don't always fit exactly and a loose connection might occur, overloading the second molex - bend or hurt wire could cause premature failure We are getting soooo offtopic now :D

Lungnut your calculations seem off. Checking online AWG 14 wire has 20A max amperage, higher than that and expect wire failure.

    Low Bandwidth...

Do some switching around. Move your PC to another internet connection where Arma works or bring another PC with working Arma to your connection. Very far chance, my ISP blocks by default some ports for internet security and you have to disable it through a web control panel. ----------------------- Posted before seeing your last reply

Could you check if disabling SPI firewall on the DLINK Dir-655 fixes the problem. I think it's at Advanced>Firewall Settings - Enable SPI. Check also at Status>Logs if you have any DOS attack msg. Had a similar problem with my router where ArmA & ArmA II traffic will get classified as DOS attack and my router was dropping packets.
  11. What manufacturer and model is your SSD?

    Running Arma2 from SSD

Garbage collection is firmware feature of the drive, no external control except you are to let the drive idle so it does its job. Wiper.exe is an external program that perform the trim command but doesn't work when you are running your controller in RAID mode as I do. For my SSDs there are at the moment 2 firmwares, 1.40 is the one with trim capability and 1.41 is the one with garbage collection that I'm running. I don't know first hand but from what I have gathered of either one would work with XP.

    Running Arma2 from SSD

Simple answer, you can use SSDs with XP and maintain performance. SSDs with garbage collection work regardless the OS, this is the way I'm using mine at the moment. You can also perform a manual Trim command (that is the functionality of the W7 you are speaking of) as long as the drive supports it and have a utility provided from the manufacturer (wiper.exe for OCZ). For more information on SSD I recommend visiting the OCZ SSD forums and reading some posts: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=186

    Battleye

IMHO it's a feature. I see many players getting the "Client not responding" and then getting kicked from Battleye. From those that I hear in TS always their game has crashed. Before Battleye after a crash you either had to wait some time for the server to notice you had crashed and free your spot or join in - kicked out to free your spot or worse case scenario some times crashed players had to be kicked out by an admin or a votekick.
  15. Also note that on x64 windows the registry path is different from x32 windows. On x64 windows it's: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive

    1.05 Benchmark Mission Results

Bench2 seems to have a 25 FPS cap. Memory default. View Distance 2500. 1680*1050 all settings very low or disabled 25 FPS. 1900*1200 all settings very low or disabled 25 FPS. 1900*1200 all settings very high 23 FPS. Task manager shows 1 cpu working at 90% and the other 3 cpus below 50%. For comparison Bench1 shows some wide margins between low and high graphics: 1680*1050 all settings very low or disabled 124 FPS. 1900*1200 all settings very low or disabled 123 FPS. 1900*1200 all settings very high 50 FPS.
  17. Where you select a vehicle there are some icons that symbolize the units in the vehicle, like a steering wheel. If you click on them they dim and the unit wont spawn. The price of the vehicle also drops. At least thats the way it works in Warfare BE.
  18. Getting the same error. Also when installing I am getting an Error Dialog "Not enough space to install Application" with Yes/No to continue. Seems to install ok after yes.
  19. @Drew When starting beta with this line: "D:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\beta\arma2.exe" -mod=beta;@random_addon -nosplash it starts fine. Adding a ";" at the end of the mod command like this: "D:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\beta\arma2.exe" -mod=beta;@random_addon; -nosplash brings the error "Error compiling pixel shader PSTreeAdv:0" Try to check for extra ";".
  20. Use the Yoma launcher. It recognizes the beta folder as a mod folder and when you choose it, it automatically selects the beta exe.
  21. Have experienced the same problem. I usually get it after a revive. Not sure but I think if I was sidewalking or leaning when I died after the revive I continue the same action. Using Beta 60588.

    vote for new commander ...

Choose Options->Team Menu and click on Vote Pop-Up on.
  23. Two thumbs up for latest beta. I have turned all settings at "Very High" and PP off and the gameplay was very fluid. One bug that's a first for me is while playing MP AirCav and flying a chopper the screen went black. No "Receiving" message that I get sometimes when closing map. The chopper was still fully controllable from what I could hear and if I pressed ESC I could see the mouse pointer. Had to Alt-F4 quit. In retrospect, I should maybe have tried to open map and see if it restores.

How long does a mission in DR lasts? I play ArmA2 only on weekends due to missions lasting hours. Sundays I can be on for 12 hours and play 3-4 missions, weekdays there is no way I'm gonna drop in a mission for 30-60 mins.
