    Mouse Wheel Problem

If I remember correctly, default keys for cycling up/down menu should be [ and ].
  2. What is your memory setting in Arma2, if not default set it so. Post your localVRAM=<VALUE>; from ArmA2OA.cfg.
  3. You should post more info for your computer, trying to figure out if you have a laptop or a desktop is frustrating. Anyway from what I googled you probably have a Dell System XPS L502X laptop, hypothesis follows. First if a laptop, you can't physically change the video card, you are stuck with what you've got. From its specs and your Nvidia mention of drivers in your report it should come with either a GT 525M 1GB or a GT 540M 2GB, besides the integrated Intel HD. Open device manager and tell us what your Nvidia card is. Your laptop should switch automatically between the two depending on graphics power demanded (eg. 3d game) and power (battery or mains). Try to force the Nvidia card always on and see how the game runs. You should expect lower battery runtime and higher thermals.
  4. Anyone else getting CTD when in spectate and top view, while waiting for revive in MP missions? Problem started from BETA 93030 and after. More info on my DevHeaven bug report.
  5. I want to WARN you that the moment you took off the heatsink you have to reapply thermal compound. You can't just stick it back with the old one, the thermal connection between cpu and heatsink has been degraded, especially for old dry compound. Again I strongly advice to not use the pc until you reapply new compound.
  6. Values seem ok. Same one, small world isn't it. :) Server was New-Germany-Fun.net. Set all your Catalyst drivers 3D settings to default. Have you tried the -maxvram with a value lower than 1024MB (eg.896)? Crossfire off? Had similar problems with my 4870X2 on Arma, it drove me to Nvidia.
  7. Sounds like your videocard flushes it's memory and you have to wait to refill with the textures. What is your Video Memory in settings ? (Preferred is Default) Is your 4870X2 a 1GB (1GBX2=2GB total) or a 2GB(2GBX2=4GB total), never can be sure with the naming. :) Post your Arma2oa.cfg localVRAM and nonlocalVRAM. LocalVRAM for a 1GB(X2) is around 1054539776 and twice for a 2GB(X2). -You can try forcing vram detection with -maxVRAM=<number> startup parameter. -Try using the -winxp startup parameter. -Try disabling crossfire. Maybe for a 2GB(2GBX2=4GB total) card you are having a address space limit on WinXP
  8. I had a similar problem once, with my Logitech G35 usb audio headset and my onboard Realtek. The G35 Headset would turn to 2 channel mode instead of 7.1 with the same error warning you get. I fixed it by reinstalling the Realtek drivers. Read more for my case at BIS Thread and DevHeaven.
  9. This will solve it, at the moment you haven't yet downloaded the whole game. I don't have Arma2OA from Sprocket but for comparison, Take On Helicopters from Sprocket is 9 files. Take_On_Helicopters_Setup.exe and 8 Take_On_Helicopters_Setup<01-08>.bin files. Put them all in one folder and run setup. Keep the installation files for future use.
  10. There should be more files to download where you downloaded setup.exe, that is why the install fails. Named like Setup01.bin,Setup02.bin,Setup03.bin,... with a prefix in front, possible 8 or 9 files (not sure). Download them all and retry installing.
  11. Try deleting ArmA2OA.cfg at "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\ArmA 2\ArmA2OA.cfg" or editing/deleting the "class ModLauncherList" section on it. See also Bug #28552:One can disable OA/Expansion in the modLauncher and render the game unusable this way on DevHeaven. There used to be (or still is) a "class ModLauncherList" in the <PLAYERNAME>.ArmA2Profile file. You might have to edit/delete this too. File is at "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\ArmA 2" for default PLAYERNAME and "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles" for changed PLAYERNAME.

    ARMA 2 Patching FAQ

Just tested your installation path with the only difference using the "d" drive and Arma works as intended (Changed the registry too). After some tests I managed to replicate your error and it is related with the registry. At [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA\Expansions\ARMA 2 OA] if the MAIN entry that stores the path ends with a backslash you will get the error. GOOD MAIN: E:\Games\CapsuleGames\ARMA II Operation Arrowhead - PC BAD MAIN: E:\Games\CapsuleGames\ARMA II Operation Arrowhead - PC\ Maybe the error can emerge with the other path entries, didn't test them all. And of course you can use "-" in your path.

You were kicked off the game

From your log "Version 1.60.87580", you are not using any beta you are running 1.60 version.
  14. Download and run DirectX Web Setup. Let it download and setup directx, maybe need reboot after. Try to run game again.
  15. Hi Sickboy I would like to have all mods downloaded by SIX Updater, installed not in ArmA2,TKOH directory but inside ArmA2\SIX,TKOH\SIX The way I do it now is by forcing the menu option>settings Mod to .\SIX, but this breaks BETA mod support and Take On Helicopters doesn't recognize the ArmA2 mods. Is there a better way to do it? The reason I do this, is because of servers using Yoma Addonsync (donwloads addons in root directory of game) and using different versions of addons, as not all servers get updated the same time.
  16. My objection to reduced graphics is that some effects like smoke, vegetation or clouds are not only eye candy but are part of the realism aspect of the game. At least in MP you shouldn't be able to turn them off or you would get an unfair advantage.
  17. You installed Arma2 but I don't see any mention of applying the latest patch for it. If you start arma2.exe what version do you get at the lower right corner of menu screen? Should be 1.11.86734.

    Gamehack #20 caused by Mummble?

$able is the developer and maybe you could PM him or ask him at the MP forums.

    Development Blog & Reveals

Not sure if mentioned yet but Stratis comes from Ai Stratis (Αη ΣτÏάτης) a more casual way of Agios Eystratios (Άγιος ΕυστÏάτιος). Agios Eystratios is 43 sq.km compared to 19 sq.m of Stratis island. Some Google Earth pictures comparison.

    Development Blog & Reveals

@Slatts Possible small island called Velia near Agios Efstratios. See attached Google Earth pic. Can we assume now that 2 islands are going to be included with ArmA3, Limnos and Agios Efstratios?
  21. @YoYo Don't forget that lingor requires additional addons (brg_africa,ibr_plants,mbg_buildings2), if those are not in the lingor directory. Your line might look like: "G:\Take On Helicopters\beta\takeonh.exe" "-mod=G:\ArmA II;G:\ArmA II\Expansion;G:\ArmA II\@lingor;G:\ArmA II\@brg_africa;G:\ArmA II\@ibr_plants;G:\ArmA II\@MBG_Buildings2;Hinds;beta" -nosplash @PVPscene My vote is in. :)
  22. @YoYo Any additional maps or addons you have in your arma2 directory you can bind them individually on the -mod parameter. Some comparisons screens from Lingor at A2OA and TKOH. Anyone managed to load the BAF and PMC DLC? It pops a addon decrypting error if you bind them. Or aren't the locked DLCs yet supported?

    The details

@PurePassion Doubt it they are cicadas, first the whitish dots are too big from this perspective for them to be cicadas. Second cicadas in Greece blend too well with pine trees, they become invisible after some meters. Looks more with cut branches or a sick tree. We will know better when they post the full screen images, which leaves me with a question for BIS. Why tease us with so small resolution pictures, please post them in their full resolution glory.
  24. Win7x64, 12 GB ram, no swap, no problem. Could you post your arma2oa.cfg localVRAM,nonlocalVRAM entries?
  25. http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php Note: this build is NOT backward compatible with 1.59, major number was raised to 1.60!
