    Game will not launch

I honestly do not know why using the download manager from Direct2Drive made the difference. I am totally stumped on this one.

Just an update on this issue, doing what Direct2Drive tech support advised worked. Used the download manager and allowed it to unzip and insall the game and it work, most wierd and interesting. Anyway, NOT using the built in decompression utility in Vist must have been the issue. Again wierd but it's working. Many thanks for those who have replied and help. Be safe. Merphy

Aye, have done that as well. The folks from Direc2Drive have suggest I re-download the game and then try to unzip it with somthing other then the built in decompression utility built in with Vista. Don't have the ware with all to do that at the moment, I'll hold off till the weekend and if that does not work chalk it up to unplayable.

Here's a link to it, it's a gamers laptop. Pretty decked out. have no idea what this could be either. http://laptops.toshiba.com/laptops/qosmio/x305 ---------- Post added at 05:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:29 PM ---------- Just as an FYI, I play GRAW2, DCAS, used to pleave Eve, WoW, Warhammer Online, all sort's of games and this and Arma 1 is the only games that gives me problems.
  7. I run the Qosmio x305 with Windows Vista 64bit and the game will not launch. I get the error here. "The version of this file (Arma2.exe) is not compatible with this version of Windows your're running. Check your computers system information to see whether you need an an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the sofware publisher." Any idea's or am I out $50.00?
