Honestly if you made it with just plain boxes I don't think you even have to check for non-convexities cuz you shouldn't have any. When I work the Geo I make sure I make it with just boxes then all I do is just Find Components pretty much. And yes I think your Geo LOD looks ok, here's the geometry for my island, so you can see its supposed to be very simple.
Disclaimer: I'm also a noob so don't take anything I say as fact :D

Hey will all the guns be mannable where you have walking up to the gun itself to use it?Doubtful. But I'll put it on the list of maybes for after the first release, like if its updated.
I got some textures for the hull I'm content with (which aren't just a flat nasty light grey anymore lol) so finally making some progress. After the hull I'll probably do the island, then start working inside on the hangar. Also, I had been working on something smaller on the side somewhat, just for like modeling practice alongside the Nimitz. It's looking kinda cool though and might be useful/enjoyed so, I think I'll focus on that for a little bit as it might be quicker to finish, and doesn't need as much as the Nimitz. Anyway, I'll have something to show you guys by Monday for sure, even if its just a textured hull which really isn't that awesome haha.

Making something like that is easy, its just attachTo's for vehicles and stuff. But ideally, the carrier will be used in multiplayer where more than just a couple players will be on it. If the carrier moves, all those players will just start to slide off the deck. I'd make it drivable if it was feasible but arma 2 doesn't have, uhh... "object-based gravity" lol.

No it's not drivable. I decided on that from the beginning just because, as a carrier it wont be good at "carrying" while in motion due to game limitations. I do plan to have something to launch boats out of it, that area is actually already made and set aside, just needs some kind of mechanism to launch/retrieve boats to be made, probably from my imagination.
I'm going to work on this some tomorrow finally, probably textures, hopefully I'll have something to show soon.

can give you our seasparrow if you want. it probably needs some new rvmats but its working on the frigates<- never even touched making rvmats yet. seriously im a total noob at this stuff lol.

I been saving that for last just cuz in my head its pretty much the easiest to accomplish. I gotta get off my ass and do some texturing tutorials and try to make some, this project's really been lagging past few weeks.
Specifically: 2 Sea Sparrow launchers, 2 RAMs, 2-4 Phalanx
or 2 Sea Sparrow, 2 Phalanx
depending on what people want and how it might affect multiplayer games. In fact, I'll probably just make it so there will be a couple different pre-defined setups that missionmakers can easily invoke.
I've thought about how that might be horribly breaking in terms of game balance but, idk... the thing isn't "supposed" to sink lol. Plus, I don't know if it'll be able to sink or not yet. Can't start tinkering with that until everything else is done. There's already a ready and available Phalanx out I can use, and there's a RAM model that just needs to be config'd and scripted. Might have to make the Sea Sparrow myself.

that it would over-power the relatively small game world of A2Shucks, no SR-71 for me.
Anyway, this thread makes me a happy camper, way to go!

@Crash, awesome thanks, but my texture skills arent up to par for that I don't think, but yea I'd definitely give it a shot after being done with the Nimitz if no one else has done it by then
@GTDAWG, I honestly dont have the time or interest in learning how to make the sprite effects just to put it into one addon, but if someone who's already learned how to wants to, then yes that would be awesome and I've like it too. I looked at how to play with the effects for like 2 minutes before I gave up.

If anyone experienced is out there and wants/has time to help, I could sure use some with making good textures and the maps. I'm not very skilled in that department and honestly am losing interest in working on this alone. Not to say I won't finish it heh, just not with as much as I would have liked. Otherwise I'll probably just get as much done as I can just so people can play with it, then maybe down the road upgrade it or something.

Omg Ace Combat is the shit. Never played 1, 2 was good, didn't care much for 3... 4, 5 and 6 were fantastic. I actually picked up the bundle with the Hori flight stick for 5 haha, too bad I can't use it on the comp. The cinematic of the Kestrel sinking in 5 was awesome. Can't wait for Assault Horizon. One thing that series does, whether it unrealistic or not, is letting you hear all the enemy conversation. Seriously all the nonstop radio chatter keeps the action going and its real immersive.
Loading screen... I use a bunch of miscellaneous mods, I think its one of those but idk which. sap_clutter, ike_hud, sakusun are likely. Too lazy to check each one though.

This might be dumb/obvious, and I know you said you've tried other methods but... this can't be accomplished by just using addAction on the player and assigning each one to execute its respective animation? Even if you have to make a few seperate script files, one for each animation, I would imagine it would work.

Not of the carrier really, but as requested... (you can fit 2 at once on the elevator w00t!)...
Also wld, the LODs seem really touchy. Any past 20m and it goes into LEGO-mode.

Suggestion on those birds. You might want to redo the smdi map on them a bit to shinny.I just went over them with 50 coats of turtle wax yesterday, you should've seen them beforehand!

Sorry I'm probably just tired but what exactly are you trying to do in simple terms lol? Get a new human animation to work in the game? I started trying this not too long ago and got it working, though some parts still eluded me, but there were no errors. If that's what you're trying to do I might be able to help out some, otherwise, I've no idea what you're doing haha.

Wow I usually don't even bother responding/getting into it with people online but SERIOUSLY... how much of a touchy-feely person do you have to be to get all insulted by "duhhhh", especially when it wasn't even directed at you. Have you never spoken/joked with a friend in real life? Like I'm honestly having trouble figuring out how the previous few posts originated from a simple "duhhh". Regardless of who "started" it, how on earth do you get to be that sensitive. I mean holy crap if my dad and I got into it that easy we'd both be 6 feet under by now. If someone isn't calling you out just brush it off and move on, I'm sure there are better things to do than start eFights over something as trivial as "duhhh".
ANYWAY: The stuff is looking great wld, wish I could help but I don't even have enough time to work on my own stuff lately.

Thanks guys. Pufu... don't confuse me even more lol. No idea what Xrefs are. I am a total modeling n00b haha this is like my first real project. And yea Myke I see what you mean. In max when I copied the chairs I did so as an instance though so, the changes are automatic via that method as well. I can always isolate the object I want to work on or hide certain other objects to make viewing stuff easier too. Anyway thanks again I got my basic understanding of it now :)

Well so far I've tested it with one friend of mine. So like if I'm host and an elevator is activated to go up while we're both on it, he will actually start floating higher in the air on my screen, on nothing, getting to the top faster than me in like 60% of the time it takes me to get up there. Same will happen with me on his screen if he is host. If I run a dedicated server, we both move up/down at the same speed.
Hope that clears it up. I will try with him sometime soon to see if we can reproduce the problem with another addon's animations perhaps.

ok i get it. somehow reading the previous pages i got the idea it was for optimization somehow and that was confusing me. idk that i'll personally have any use for this, doubtful but maybe.

As much as I'd rather continue to see work on the Prowler, even with limitations of the game we all have to work around, especially since its far from a flight/navy sim, I suppose my vote would go towards the F14 just cuz its my favorite plane, and I tire of the old ported one. However if not that one, then E2/E3/RAH66.
