Since I installed a 3G Mobile Broadband thumb drive and associated software it has broken Arma 2. I can no longer open the game up via the .exe and when bringing up the Autoplay on the DVD it only asks to install the game even though it is installed.
I am going to try uninstalling the thumb drive and software.....

You'll need to wait for the next patch to come out before you play the game, otherwise you will be disappointed.....
Like me....
*Runs away sulking*

How about a T-shirt that says:I ordered ArmA 2
and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!
(and a frightening bunch of program code)
HAHA Id get one of those too.

Now I never said I didnt love the game. I do. its great. but its too buggy. So I hate to love it.
On another note: They obviously have a lot of die hard fans, what these loyals have in common is that they are all modders/editers. They enjoy this game because its a good game to mod etc
For new customers like myself, who isnt a modder, less than impressed with the bugs in this game. I want to be able to play it now but I have to wait until all the bugs are fixed and I learn how to edit/mod.

Does that switch them over to that team? Or does it just have them following another team but still apart of mine.
-
Likewise, latest patch version and mission won't end after conquering all the towns and sidequests - radio chat of a reunion but no cutscene or end.I was going to try and finish this mission despite the glitches....but now I wont even bother.
-
Read the forums mate. Quite a few people saying that they will be returning the game. Sales figures do not represent returned product.

Bought the Air factory but couldn’t buy helicopters. Wasn’t that bleak about it, to be honest. Why would guerrillas have choppers? I would have just disabled the option to build it is all.Thats the bug I am reporting. If you cant construct Helicopters you shouldnt be able to build the damn factory.
Are you able to repair your vehicles?
-
Also, I don't know if this is game related or PC related but when I eject from an aircraft - the instant I hit eject the PC sound loops and the computer completely locks up and I am forced to power down and restart the PC.HAHAHA....EJECT and your PC trys to spit your harddrive out.

If they sell dodgy games I can only imagine what he merchandise would be like.
A Zippo that cant be refueled or repaired.

I fail to see why I STILL see the same bugs and issues I've encountered all along.Im a first timer to Arma...and BIS. After reading multiple posts about there being the same bugs in every other game released has made me realise three things:
1/ that the issues I report wont get fixed.
2/ There is no quality control with this company.
3/ Unless something changes within BIS (Restructure and/or Quality Control introduced) the company will eventually fail because they are rapidily losing customers.

I will also comment on NVG.
During the bitterchill mission, at night with NVG.
Trying to zoom in your view the screen would blacken so that you can not see anything, it appears this was due to the stars in the night sky?
-
Seems to be a known error with the "Call Support" function to HQ. Medic, Ambulance, Repair/Rearm/Refuel trucks....the whole lot.
You should also be getting an audio error....config.male03 something.
The campaign was slapped together by some pre school student the night before his/her assignment was due. (Lets see if that stirs up some official response?)
-
I dont think you can buy aircraft within the campaign. Maybe in a later mission? I know you need an airfield (which can not be built).
How did you buy a helicopter? I have built the factory in the badlands mission but it wont let me buy/build choppers!
See....

Daily Bump....in my bid to get an official answer. I know the head sheds visit this forum because they have replied to threads in the past....persistance is key....
-
What I have been doing was hoping there was an easier/quicker way. Oh well......There should be and I believe this will be fixed along with a massive amount of other bugs (I hope).
-
I know how, you hit Q to start her up....then raise the throttle after warm up with Q again...then your up in the air....use the mouse to fly around. Stay below 30 mtrs to keep out of sight of the radars.....Sit back and enjoy the inflight mayhem!
Easy.
I know what you mean though redfield, in reality the average grunt isnt going to know how to fly a helicopter, but they would still have the freedom of giving it a shot....jumping in and flicking random switches.

Spoiler (Storyline Bitterchill and Badlands)
The best mission (Storyline) I have played so far is Bitterchill, after waking up after the Helo crashes, its night time....your confused....you got some crazed Rocker in your face....and trying to get away while half of the russian army is looking for you....flood lights zooming all around the map....helicopter flying around looking for you....and then getting into a firefight with a squad that you ultimately come across. The frustrating thing about this mission was the lack of speed from your unit...im running off asking them to follow and they are dancing around the bushes wanting to shoot things when I have ordered a hold fire.
Badlands is good too, because your starting to get more command powers and units, but the bugs in this are too much to deal with, makes it unplayable

With that you can fly both the American shopper and the vicious Mi-24 in the airport, making attack the enemy's main base a piece of cake. That would be why you cant use them.
Although it doesnt make sense to have vehicles there and not being able to use them, I thought this was a military simulator....im pretty sure that if you find a vehicle during combat you'd be able to use it (if you know how to operate a helicopter that is).
The choice should always remain in the hands of the player, if they want to completely ruin a mission by making it a walk in the park, its up to them.

What about repairing?
Its obviously a bug in AI controlled vehicles, but I have also tried to do it myself but cant. Vehicle simply wont repair.
-
no im not. i just love the ambition these games have, and what they are striving for. hint: the editor is where the best part is found. campaign is just a tack-on.The campaign is and should always be the primary focus, storyline is what immerses you into the game, secondary comes multiplayer. Editors are the true "tack ons".
What I am loving about this game is the realism and the storyline, it feels like you are apart of something and that you are making decisions and evolving the story. What I dont like is the constant bugs and oversights which make playing the game frustrating and at times impossible.
I have not yet given up. I hope that soon someone will give me an answer to these problems:
-
This combined with the fact that you cannot repair vehicles/rearm static defenses in the campaign pretty much make it unplayable. That question is also in another thread of mine...
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=80773
All of which will keep getting bumped to the top of the forum until they receive answers.

me and a friend in some missions pop the rear rotar and the crew jumps out and voila chopper of course at slow speeds it spins in circleslol!!!

*BUMP*
Still no answer.....
I am wanting to play this game but I cant because I need answers.....

BIS has a tight group of hardcore fans, mostly modders, and they stick up for them when someone has something bad to say about them. Do not expect to get any support or sympathy when you are criticising BIS games (In this case Arma2). I have sought help with many bugs in these forums only to find myself meeting people that have similar feelings/problems, that then grew into a great frustration which then started to attract attention of the loyalists. Which is fine and I respect that, I understand BIS is small time trying to get their heads above water in a big boys industry, what I would like is a bit more voice on an official level letting us know whats happening.
Instead I think they are too busy getting the console versions out rather than fixing the PC version.
