ARMA II Beta Builds Released: Latest version/build: 1.04.6xxxx
markushaze replied to mattxr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
@ [OGN]DarkPhantom I am having exactly the same problem. The game runs fine ( A little tip: Use -maxmem=( put amount of Ram here ) in shortcut line after -nosplash and relay smooth gameing :-) I had a stuttering 20 -30 fps game experience, Now its 30-40 FPS. As stated above, the crash only happens when exiting the game, since the 2 latest Betas. -
Just voted yes as well on Dev heaven Alex... everything seems fine for me, however the explosion sound, and if i am not mistaken ( need to test again ) the gunshots, stick to your current view direction..... Explanation: Coming out of a tree line, a couple of enemy's just in front....they engage..... i turn around, to run the OPPOSITE direction, the gunshots are still coming from IN FRONT of me, even though they should be behind me.... Makes it very difficult to know who is shooting at you from where... No other problems concerning sound ( and other major stuff ) to report from my end. all works nicely :-) Again, thanx BI

Arma II is going on the shelf...
markushaze replied to IrishDeviant's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Really... if your using a TFT monitor ( LCD ) then the hunt for fps above the monitors native refresh rate is useless anyhow. If you have 30 fps, be happy. If you have 50 fps , well that's great. Anything over 60 fps (the refresh rate of a standard LCD screen is 60 Hz, maybe 75 Hz) is just not visible. So in my book, 30 fps ( im saying stable fps, not 10 - 30 , rather 30 upwards ) is ok. people looking for 100 FPS are either using CRT monitors or LCD with refresh rates over 100 Hz. And even then.... i think more then 60 - 70 FPS is just a nice to have, but no real benefit from it.... please correct me if i am wrong.... For me ArmA 2 runs ok, considering whats going on onscreen, i would rather say it runs well. a little more optimization here and there, and i think its gonna be great, i am having a blast already, and would put arma 2 right up there with the best games ever made :-) -
How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??
markushaze replied to mattyh1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
well, what can i say. Just stating my point of view must have touched you Zixinus... Im so sorry....... please, let us get on with discussing the game, and not attacking each other, it serves no perpous. Therefore i extend my hand to you, i didn't want to ofend you...... For me the Game is not unplayable, and i am not a blinded fan. I just wanted to state my point of view to those comparing this with OFP DR or or any other console game. At the end, its about having fun. -

ok... after reading all that: i dont want to pick on anybody, those concerned will know:-) Are you serious? do you really understand what this "game " is? ive read this from other people, but for me its just right. a polished dumbed down game ( we all know what i mean ) has less bugs because??? well' anybody???? answer : there is much less room for error! ArmA 2 simulates a whole countryside, with civilians, animals, and so on.... of course there are mor bugs, than in the first couple of levels in... ( put your favorite "shooter" here ) But there is so much to see, so much to do, and so much to talk about in this game, that i for one, can look over the bugs. sure BI are on it since oFp, and yea, maybe they could have killed a little more of the bugs that carried over from the series. But look, however at what they have achieved! Arma 2 is in my opinion the best and only Ultimate Military Simulation. @Zixinus: again a comparison of a console game, to a pc simulation...epic fail !! -
Thank you, B.I.S.; Sign if you agree.

@ Armored_Sheep Simply great. Thanx a lot for your effort Bohemia :-)) its just fantastic. even without changing from the default value in this new beta, it feels great. no stuttering what so ever. i will try what you told me tonight @ home, but i guess i will leave it just this way ( default beta 1.03.58879 ) again thanx :-) @ community What is this about the beta not loading when simply using the launch beta shortcut located in ArmA2 install .dir? The version number is correct, but the addons are not loaded? i did notice the difference in mouse control in the previous two betas, so it must work. simply launching the beta version with the shortcut located in ArmA2 install .dir is not enough? can someone confirm this? thanx -

Mouse Lag 2 - Return of the Mouse Lag
markushaze replied to datter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hello Community. well i didn't hope to have ro post here, because in arma 2 patch 1.03 ( not the beta one ) mouse control was just fine. Now in the beta build, with "mouse smoothing disabled" it feel like i cant aim correctly anymore. it was explained in another thread by another user as well. The mouse seems to skip pixels. i don`t know how else to explain it. i will defiantly play with "mouse smoothing enabled" if there is an option for it. anyone else with similar experiences? -

Hello Community. Just a quick question. My Logitech mouse has an option within the driver to activate Mouse smoothing. i am sure all the other top Mouses, ( Razer, Roccat, Microsoft ) have this as well. I used to ALWAYS turn it off because i don't like the effect. now in Arma2, could this solve some issues for those that have mouse problems since the patch? Im @ work, so i cant test @ the moment, but try it out, maybe it helps some. Greetings -

ArmA2; Windows 7 64x bit. Failure.
markushaze replied to DeclaredEvol's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
well, as you might imagine, sharing window 7 builds is probably not allowed on these forums. Eaven though its not yet released, the builds were never officially given to the public except Build 7000 Beta and 7100 RC. The other builds are all leaked, and might contain viruses and other harmful stuff. I would not advise using any leaked builds unless you know what you are doing . you can find out what build you have by typing: "winver" without quotes in the search box under "Start" -

markushaze replied to DeclaredEvol's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hello community. well ive just read about your problem with your x64 Windows 7 Installation. what build are you using? i don't know if this helps, but since the RC, there have been numerous builds leaked to the web, with some considerable improvements in game compatibility and performance. i am using build 7232 x64 ( pre RTM ) and i have no problems what so ever. iam not even using my vista ultimate x64 anymore ( dualboot ) . If you need links, or more info, just let me know. Windows 7 x64 rules :-) -
Hey man, great, but the link dosent seem to work.... @manberries you beat me to it :-)
