I've also wondered how to put a cammo face on my guy as even when I go a Force Recon guy it puts on my defualt face when the rest of the team has cool cammo faces.

The most intense battle I've had in this game so far was a simple mission I made to tes the russian AT tripod. I stuck one in the middle of a road outside a town with some infantry to protect him then put myself into a group of armoured infantry. As expected the armour got taken out then my AI teamates went berserk and set about assualting the AT crew and his protectors. They steadily bounded down the road covering each other and using the railroad tracks on one side and the trees on the other side as cover. I stayed with the leader and watched as he moved from tree to tree waving his men forward when he had a good spot to fire from. The resulting firefight was the most frantic one I've been in it was terrifying the noise of all the bullets hitting the trees around us and one guy ran forward on the bound and got shot as he passed my tree and I could hear the bullet hit him then he groaned as he hit the ground then slowly crawled to a tree and called for help. I thought I'd patch him up but got cut down as I tried to move to him. The AI are good in this game when you consider they are not stuck in a confined level and their only aim is to shoot you. They have so much more to do and things to do it with that it boggles the mind when you stop to think about how well it generaly does work.

MVD rifleman with RPG-7, I love their helmets and balaclavas wish USMC had a similar guy.

A flight of gunships takes on a collumn of tanks with suprising results... Watched the battle from afar and all vehicles damaged, crew members got out to continue fight on the ground!!!! Chopper crew ate some lead. Had to make sure our chopper didn't end up in enemy hands! * Not pictured... accidently shooting one of the chopper crew members:o

Take the USMC dirtbike and try to ride up a hill on it, you lose momentum halfway up it is funny in a sad way.

Would you be able to script a key command so that when you press it the missile dissapears, or are you talking about an AI pilot dropping flares automaticaly to a missile fire?

There is a spotter in the "sniper team" group in the editor so it puts down a sniper and spotter as a teamed pair but he does nothing but act as another AI and doesn't help in any way regarding spotting.

I think of Arma 2 as the next chapter in the Flashpoint saga so I can't really say which is better as it is all gestalt to me.

I know it's a romantic notion, but that is how I feel. I have a BA in History/Psychology, most of it studying military history. Right now I'm studying the American Civil War which was one of the most bloody in history and yet after half my life reading accounts of soldiers I still want to know how it would be like to be in a battle. Back then they called it "going to see the elephant" because it was an experience unlike any other in life and veterans of more recent wars still say that they would live through it again as it was the most defining experience of their lives. There is an alure to war whether morbid or not or else why would we be playing this game in the first place?

I can't get into the army so I'm always looking for the closest I can get and this is cheaper than paintball every weekend! I think most men secretly wish they could be on the battlefield doing something rather than their normal safe boring lives. It used to be a noble thing to be a soldier especially in times of war men would sign on by the hundreds of thousands to experience war but these days it's frowned upon and simulators like this are the only outlet for people who desire to know what it would be like to fight.

Sounds like one of your RAM sticks could have broken, I had similar problems before starting with games not working properly and I tried everything to fix it. Turned out one of my RAM sticks had broke and I pulled it out and everything worked fine again.

ARMA II's infantry, Steel Beasts Pro's tanks and Lock On: Modern Air Combat's planes would be the best game ever. This is awesome however.

The PK machine gun kicks up and to the right when you try a long burst.

I was running to an extraction point in a mission when one of my guys got shot and called for medic. I one of my squad to go heal him and he did while I shot two guys that were shooting at him as he patched the other guy up and they ran back to me. It was great. Another time I was leaning around a corner picking off some enemies when my entire squad decided that it would be a good idea to just run around the other corner which was covered by a machine gun and they all got wiped out at once... It's hit and miss but overall I'm happy with my AI guys as long as I keep and eye on them and tell them what to do.

Just got the game. Its is great, runs well on my system and have not come across anythings game breaking yet playing through the scenarios. It feels like OpF on steroids and is better than I thought it would be. The graphics are amazing I cannot get over just how far we have come in a decade. Thanks BIS for a great sim and providing us with an awesome sandbox to play in for the next few years!
