  1. But doesn't that create the task for one person only? I want everyone to see the tasks.
  2. Can you tell the AI to suppress? I've figured out that the AI is somewhat suppressable, but I still find them shooting very little, and they only seem to shoot to kill... Sometimes they shoot very well though, but I've never seen them suppress, which is essential to win a battle. For example, recently I was doing a mission where we had to assault an insurgent camp. We flanked to a hill and I issued everyone a target. After that I told everyone to fire. The AT-specialist did his job but the rest didn't shoot almost at all, or very little. They were just slowly moving around (crouched) and maybe taking some single shots, randomly killing someone.. Then the insurgents started shooting at us and we got lots of casualties... If the ai had taken more shots, we would've been fine.. So, any help?

    Suppressive fire command?

    Ok thanks, I found the command. Now, how does this really work? I selected an AI pointed at a position, held alt and clicked on suppress, but nothing seemed to happen...?
  4. How do you tell the AI to get into an empty helicopter? I've tried the get in -waypoint but they all they do is run next to the chopper and stop... The AI makes very simple tasks so difficult....

  6. I'm currently trying to create a fun mission where a small group of marines are attacked by an insane amount on insurgents equipped with a pistol. My problem is, that when the first shot is made all the insurgents just go prone/crouch and start slowly crawlins towards the players, unable to create a panic-like situation. Is there a way to stop the AI from going prone and just advance at all costs? Thanks
  7. Yeah, I got similar problems with the AI behaviour in most of my missions. Either they move out of the area they're supposed to be holding (hold-waypoint) or don't move quickly enough to catch up with the assault.
  8. Hello, Is it possible to synchronize a waypoint with a trigger so that the waypoint has to be completed before the trigger can trigger? Also, how do you really set tasks or objectives?
  9. Thanks for the help everyone. Btw, how do you write text into the debriefing, for example some "you win" text when you beat the mission? And also, how do you change a unit's starting gear? Maybe I should try the guides.... have to download some opening program then though.
  10. Hello, I'm currently trying to create my very first mission. In the end of the mission I'm trying to give the players helicopter support after they've stayed on an area (trigger) for a while, but I can't figure out how? Is there some kind of a command I can use to make the choppers spawn after the players have stayed on the area long enough?
  11. Hello, Me and my friend are trying to complete the campaign cooperatively now, but we came up with a problem. After completing the mission called "Red Harvest" (3rd or 4th mission or so, the one where you assault the city...) through several scripting bugs which could only be fixed by restarting the mission, we were unable to pick a new mission... The continue button brought us back to the same mission's menu. Does the coop campaign end here or what? Thanks

    Note that the only reason it's number one is that you can't get a copy from a store, i.e you can only get it from the internet...
  13. Agreed, you have to take care of mg nests and tanks by yourself, because the AI always start pointlessly running towards the called target when told to engage... Even when the target is clearly visible and in range.
  14. Tweaking doesn't help at all, my fps raised from 30 to 35 when switching from medium/high -> very low
  15. Well how fun is posting replies like "my ai squad is really smart, they can take cover and stuff!"...
  16. Count me in, I only get around 30 fps with medium/high settings... The weirdest part is that I only get around 5 fps more with as low settings as possible... Also, I can run World in Conflict with all settings on max (everything) very smoothly.
  17. I've played the demo quite a bit now. I had heard that arma 2 has brilliant friendly ai before downloading the demo... but that wasn't correct really... Whenever we take bots into multiplayer games they are bugging somehow. They won't enter buildings, can't enter a jeep (once we tried taking a captured UAZ without a gun on the back and the bots mounted the UAZ, but as soon as they got in they dismounted...) etc. Also they don't seem to be able to perform any engage tasks... Once we tried to assign an ai AT-specialist to shoot an APC. We moved to a spot where you could see the target and told it to engage. But the ai mindlessly started running towards the apc though it could've taken the shot right there... And finally they don't obey dismount commands from helicopters unless the pilot has jumped out... which is extremely annoying... Now, don't get me wrong, I like the game (especially cooperative play) but is this all fixed in the full version? Or are these bugs a plague there too?
  18. Much easier to install it from a dvd though... You'd have to install steam on every computer and considering the fact that steam is horrible, it isn't a very good option...
  19. Eh, of course we post our comments about the game on the forums... That's what discussion forums are for. Posting a single negative comment doesn't mean that we hate the game or the developers, we just want to share our experiences and look for possible solutions... If no-one ever mentions any problems, how is the game going to improve?
  20. I have noticed exactly the same thing. Once me and my friend were playing a seize the area mission in the demo, and decided to run downhill in a forest around 500m from a car. Then suddenly the UAZ shot me with a short burst out of nowhere...
