I'm going to build a cockpit of sorts as well. I race a lot, and also do flightsims in addition to ARMA2. I know the ergonomics will be a challenge as the best position for driving is quite different from flying and ARMA.
I tried Arma with eDimensional shutter glasses on a CRT, and it worked fine. Noe reason Arma2 shouln't? Looked cool as heck, but I think I'll go TH2g this time.
And about the statement that 'Modders have to complete the game". Look at flightsimulator from MS. It's basically a platform for modders. Same with the race sim rFactor. Developed as a base for modders. I see ARMA as the same. Why else would they ship it with an editor and scripting system that can do basically EVERYTHING we can think of?
I'd say you have a stereo setup but ARMA thinks you have a 5 channel setup and send the audio to a non-existent center channel, OR, you have a surround setup with a dead center channel.
