  1. How many vehicles are there? And where are they?

I've spent the last hour just looking for vehicles.

So far i've detected and successfuly destoyed:

    2x BRDM

    2x T72

    1x T55

    1x T34

    1x BMP-2

All of these tasks are completed, but the last "neutralize all vehicles" still remains. Gaaaaaaah!

  2. Myke;1757576']Aye' date=' just ignore what developer says is required. I mean, what the hell does he know about the game he programmed. They just write random stuff in there, mostly payed by Intel to force people to upgrade their CPU with every new game they buy.

We all know that ArmA 2 still just runs fine on a C64.[/quote']

Im saying that there is no a strict law on that there should be at least 2 cores.

I've tried this myself just now. Go into msconfig and set the amount of processors (cores) to one. Reboot and you'll see that the game still starts and works as usual.

Pentium 4 and I7 are still x86 processors so no difference there. Whenever the game runs smoothly on a P4 processor or not, is a completly different question.

Still I don't get why he'd see a nvidia driver failing due to him not having two cores? In the above mentioned test my nvidia driver did not fail.

  3. I'd say that it's the gfx-card that does causes the error since it's a display driver error. Do you have the latest drivers for your card? Latest directx?

The CPU might also cause problems, but whenever it's a single or dual core shouldn't make any difference, except for performance. Correct me if im wrong on this one :)

  4. Use the map when radioing in the commands. Both for pick up and drop off.

The chopper will travel to the destination marked by your mouse.

EDIT: Also, use sites where there is plenty of space for the heli to move around. You can always renew the pick up / drop off site by calling the radio commands again, even in flight.

  5. I had serious issues with shuttering on my i7 920 system (win7 64, 9gb ram), but it was solved by either:

    Using startup parameters: -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7

    Or: disable hyperthreading in BIOS.

    I average around 25 - 30 on the OA benchmark using a GTX260

  6. I have downloaded ArmA2, and OA on steam. They did not merge and can each be found:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead

    How do we merge these?

As well it will not start.

Same problem here, the games did not merge. At least I can still play the games seperatly.

  7. I've come across a rather annoying bug. It has happed once on badlands and once on dogs of war so far.

After a fast travel is completed, there is a risk that one of the team members AI completely breaks and starts to move a straight line in some direction. They do not obey orders, but only reply with "Negative" or "Cannot do that".

This is especially annoying since it has happed to my team razor members, and when I cannot control their actions they are likely to run straight into enemy areas and get killed.

Have anyone else experienced this bug? I’m running 1.05 with no mods.

  8. Disabling hyper threading did not affect performance on my I7 rig.

I've tried both with high graphical settings and low graphical settings, low and high draw distance, low resolution to high resolution and it does not affect my FPS at all in the benchmark tests. So my issue for low fps does not seems to be GPU bound. Processors are working but none of the cores are at 100% (one is 75%, rest is around 50%). Benchmark 02 gives 9 – 10 fps.

My other issue is the shuttering of texture loading, and in particular, Arma2s desire to release textures. Often it’s enough to alt-tab between the game and desktop to trigger the game to release textures. Once one alt-tab back into the game most of all textures are gone and has to be reloaded again. Why does Arma2 not keep these textures in memory even though they are not used at the moment, as a texture cache?

Last question; what is the difference between free and available memory in windows 7? Could arma2 request more memory from windows even though only “available memory†exists?

    Specs:

    I7 920

3gb ram (usually around 1 gb available while running arma2)

    GTX260

Regular SATA 7200 harddrives in raid 1

  9. AI behavior of APCs & armed motor vehicles needs to be addressed. Facing a car with machinegun or a static defense is a nightmare. They instantly know where you and your team are, and nearly always place 100% accurate shots.

Compared to AI infantry; AI crewman in vehicles does not seem to have their vision obscured by trees, grass or a person being prone. It also appears that they can track a target even whilst it’s in cover by terrain.
