Nah, I guess that in this case simply the town owns the house the flat is in and rents it out for profit / as needed. Really not that uncommon. However, she was living alone there, and there is simply no way that a 90m² flat for one person falls into the social housing category.....

With a size of 90m² ? No social apartment is that big!

I honestly suspect some other motives behind this rent contract thing. She has a 90m² flat she has been living in for 16 years that belongs to the town and I bet the town hasn´t bothered to raise her rent very much during that time. Maybe the town is just using the refugees as an excuse to get her out?

Oh my god, Russia really gave them a Buratino...at least one...... That thing is outright monstrous, a heavy assault artillery vehicle. If they had one of those when the battle for the Donetsk airport was still going on they simply could have driven it up, fired a full salvo, waited until the fire dies out and then walk in. There wouldn´t have been much left of the airports defenders...or the airport itself... By the way, the Buratino is only produced and available in Russia. Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Iraq bought a few. In the past Ukraine has accused Rebels of using a Buratino against them.

Oh Vilas, weren´t you the one who said that the owner should be able to do what he wants with his property? I see, you only think that way if fugitives are concerned... In this case the town simply didn´t have other options. They can´t build in time, so hey have to use what they already own (making people rent out their empty flats is only allowed after the town has exhausted all other options)

I´ve did a little digging and the story is at least half true. She did loose the flat she was living in, however it was not her flat. The house she was living in belongs to the town and the town decided to end the rent contract because they need the space to house asylum seekers. I doubt she is very poor, otherwise she wouldn´t have been able to afford that 90m² flat in the first place (I guess a flat that size will be divided into two flats). She is also getting assistance from the town in finding a new flat. And your newspaper also forgot to mention that she has time until May 2016 to move out. It is every homeowners right to end a rent contact if he needs the space himself.

I´m talking about the media coverage inside Russia. Ukraine ahs been the top topic since this mess started, now the attention has shifted to Syria.

No Vilas it´s not that simple, and again, nothing is beeing confiscated. And its really about combating rent prices in cities going up and helping people in need at the same time. You always say that the flats are so expensive, guess why that is. House owners (and real estate brokers) are doing the same thing in Poland. A lot of flats are beeing kept empty on purpose to bring up property prices.

There are rumors that Russia will actually use the bombing in syria to completely shift media coverage away from Ukraine so that they can agree to some compromises without having to tell their own citizens about it.

Syria - What should we do if anything?

Now the situation got a lot more interesting, and potentially a lot more dangerous too.... If all involved parties are not very carefull this could escalate into a region wide war....

Damn the Crimean Tatars must be really desperate if they side with the right sector..... I can kind of understand them....

And that is again only half of the story Vilas..... In Germanys big cities you will often see that many flats are empty, why is that? Companies buy up a large ammount of houses in a district and then raise the rent massively. By keeping most of the flats empty they are able to inflence the rent price in that district. The new law will force house owners to rent out their flats to the state (nothing is beeing confiscated!) who will in turn let people in need live there. A good law that will combat the rising rents in Germanys big cities. In short, House owners will not be able to keep their flats empty just to push up the price.

I completelly understand what you mean by neo colonisation. Evrybody who thinks the EU is a group of equals has no idea. I mean just look at what the EU is about to do to Greece, and has already done. They are going to suck that country dry. The countries profiting the most from beeing in the EU are Germany, France and Britain. They say that they invest the most money into the EU, wich they do, but at the same time they don´t disclose the profits they make.

It´s the same with Russia though. I think the radical Muslims hate Russia just as much as the US, if not even a bit more...

Vilas you have no idea! Facebook is not effective at that stuff, facebook simply outright refuses to censor anything (unless it has boobs in it). As I said, the german facebook had been flooded by nazi comments and content.

Yeah the west really has a problem here... I think most western countries realise that ISIS can only be defeated by ground troops. With that in mind you have two options: Supporting Assad. That is something the western countries don´t want to do because they have been against him for so long, they can´t just do a 180° on that. And well, he is a murderous bastard... Supporting the moderate rebels. Sound good on paper, but those rebels often aren´t a match for ISIS due to numbers and in some cases cooperate with the IS. Everything you give them will end up in the hands of ISIS sooner or later. Supporting the Kurds. I´m sure this is something many western countries would LOVE to do because they are the most stable and most religiously moderate force around, however, Erdogan would loose his shit. And since Turkey hosts many vital military bases for the coalition and is a partner of NATO....they won´t support the Kurds too much.... So in the end they will continue to do what they are doing now and maybe let Russia deal with it....

And that is exactly the issue at hand here, Facebook is way to lax when it comes to hatespeech of any kind and that is what the german government wants to change.

Somehow I have the impression that Russian aircraft will target all of Assads enemies, no matter if they are IS, Kurds, or smth else. The situation must be quite confusing for the Kurdish fighters. Sometimes they get air support from coalition fighters, sometimes they get bombed by Turkey with fighters that look just like the ones the coalition uses, now there are Russian fighters to worry about too....

No Vilas! If a Imam preaches hate he is commiting a crime and will be prosecuted if the case is reported to the police (there is the problem, sadly many Muslims distrust the authorities due to past experiences....). If you say that the Imam preaches hate you are accusing him of a crime and the police will start to investigate.

Vilas I tried to explain it in a very simple way. Everybody is OK to have an opinion and to state that. However once he starts inciting others to harm other people it becomes a crime. That is law and has been for half a century in Germany. They learned their lesson with the third reich where such a law didn´t exist.
  21. Tonci87

    European Politics Thread.

That is actually not what it is about, as usuall the media you consume is astonishingly missinformed or twisting the truth. There is free speech in Germany, so everybody is entitled to his own opinion. That of course extends to the internet. If someone for example writes on facebook that he hates immigrants, that is OK. It is his right to do that. However, in the last few months there have been problems with inciting comments on facebook and that is what the law prohibits. So again to keep it very simple: Posting "I hate immigrants" -> OK Posting "I hate immigrants, someone should kill them all / Burn their homes / We should deport them all / a shame they didn´t all drown in the sea" -> inciting -> totally not OK

Wow, you Russians really have a hard time understanding that just because somebody else did something bad it doesn´t mean that you can do it too..... And, as we could read in this topic, Poland and Czechoslovakia had a dispute who that land belonged to while it was clear as day that Poland certainly didn´t belong to Russia.

    Rainbow Six Siege

Name one thing I said that is wrong! Also here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-09-28-rainbow-six-siege-wont-have-a-campaign-mode Add to that the impressions of A LOT of people who played the beta. Generally their thoughts were that the gameplay is really good but that the game as a whole simply offers too little content and incentive to keep you playing. If you apply past experiences to that you end up with something like Titanfall or Evolve. Great gameplay, but very little content and long term motivation. The MP will be very active for a brief ammount of time before it practically dies out. Really if this had a better pricing things might look different, but now the price alone will put many people off who might have otherwise bought it on release.

There was a pretty big brawl between a few hundred refugees in a camp. Nothing serious though, a few wounded including three police officers. I´ve seen bigger brawls in my local disco.... Apparently it started when a yound man tried to skipp the line where people waited to receive food and an older man called him out for that. The particular camp is overcrowded with 1500 refugees while only having the capacity for 1000. Also this:

No AI tammates, no SP campaign. The only thing you can play SP is terrorist hunt wich places you (and a few friends if you wish) against the, let´s say mediocre, AI. The AI either rushes you or stays in a room until you come in, not very inspired... Honestly, the game is really bloody expensive for what you get! 11 quite small maps in an MP shooter. I see this game as the next Titanfall or Evolve, a game everybody will praise but wich will also die out quite fast because there simply isn´t that much to do in it. People who got into the Beta say it got repetitive very fast. If at least the price would match the content.... If only they would make a "proper" R6 game again.......
