  1. I've been having the same issue, with the air.pbo file when installing the 1.05 patch. I also downloaded my copy from Direct2Drive. I've tried installing on Windows 7 64bit, and also Windows XP 64bit. I bought Windows XP 64bit just for this game, to see if that could fix it. It's quite sad actually. I haven't had a date in years.

Anyway, let me know if anyone has found a remedy for this issue. Even with this problem, Arma II is still the best game I've ever played. Modern Warfare 2 made me vomit after playing Arma II. Have you ever played a game so horrifyingly boring you projectile vomited? If you want to try it, just play Modern Warfare 2.

I've forgotten what the subject is. Oh, yeah. I can't install the patch and play online anymore. If this isn't fixed soon, then I will most likely have to hang myself.

  2. I have the same rig, other than Windows 7 installed. I just wanted to say that I have the same exact, vague problem, and would like some assurance as well. I also haven't a life. Women never liked me very much, so i spend all my money on systems that cannot play Bohemia Interactive games. Ironically, Bohemia Interactive games are the only games I enjoy playing.

    Thanks, thanks a lot.

  3. Well, I'm installing xp 64 then. I currently have Windows 7 64bit installed and the game crashes to the desktop every 10 minutes.

I spent $1,700.00 dollars last week for a new computer. Mainly because of this game. I remember back in the day playing operation flashpoint for the first time and hardly being able to run it. I didn't want that to happen again, yet, it did anyways.

Regardless, Arma II is still, in my opinion, the best game ever made; until they release Arma III that is.
