Its a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW, 22" and connected via DVI, yes.226 BW is the exact same monitor I am using and 1680x1050 is the native resolution for it...........Why are you trying to run 1440x900 on it in the first place?...........

I installed the beta last night and played for a few hours.
It ran perfectly until I got to Cherno and then I had texture loading nightmare.
I couldn't even hardly move it was so bad. Like a CPU test on 3D mark or something.
I haven't had issues like this before.
I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and give it another shot today hopefully. Maybe it was something on my end.

My hero, I wrote "BESIDE 1680x 1050" - next time read before postingI know what you said smart ass hence the "I can't speak for any others" portion of my reply.
Seeing as how you can't even figure what resolutions are supported without forum help, I figured you needed all the feedback you could get.

I see 3 versions of the TrackIR, one without the clip, one with the clip and then one with both hat and clip. Which one to get? I don't use a headset as I have a desktop mic and send the Teamspeak sound out thru my 5.1. Can You use the trackIR without the clip?BTW, I've got loads of hats :p
The trackir 5 comes with a clip. If you have a hat that is all you need.
That's what I use.

I'm on patch 1.03 and I use 1680 x 1050.
I can't speak for any others.

Playing Arma 2 on a laptop is bad enough.............................but using the touchpad to play it?
I really don't know what to say to that.

that's one of the dumbest things I've heard. I went from an 8800GT to what I have now and I can goddamn guarantee that the performance increased 10x in my games. Do some research before spewing out crapIt's a common theme with his posts bashing 200 series cards and harping on why 8000 series are superior.
I think some salesman must have suckered him and now he needs others to believe it to make himself feel better about the purchase.

Bump! Anyone?I just hit my center view key then spin around with my gunsight.

Also i should say i was kinda hoping ARMA2 would also launch on the xbox360
Why would you even think that a dedicated PC game would play in an xbox 360?
-
First thing I did in this game was delete most of the default controls and remap them.

you are Vysnc limited? If i look up in the ski with XP64 at seanys settings/rez, i see 324fps. For the test i get 88fps, if i look around not moving i find a 70fps at the smoke stack. If i use some of kjus mods and others, i get 90s/100+.About the same here. I can hit 90 on the silo's and about 330ish looking into the sky. Didn't check the smokestack though.

I liked it.
How did he get the guys to stand there with their hands above their heads?

Since I went SLI I lost my slot for my XFI and went back to Realtek onboard HD. It works great for me. I can't tell a difference in my 5.1 experience compared to XFI at all.

Man I just bought this 280 on newegg for $224
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130427
Not sure why it is showing up as $239 but anyway.
It is recertified but I could care less. It has a 90 day warranty return policy and has ran great for me.
Maybe worth a look man. More card for barely more money. I have mine overclocked to 650/1397/1158 core/shader/memory and it runs fantastic.
-
Rumours indicate that the GT300 Flagship will demolish the RV870. Time will tell :)@ Ice Raver - Yah, I love new tech as well, I just dont see the point in buying a 295 with new tech so close at hand :)
Eth
Nope, I'm waiting for the 300's myself. Then I plan to retire one of my 280's to a dedicated phys x & run sli 300's.
The other 280 will go to my boys computer.
-
No, no I insist. After you!.
Hell, I'll give them a go. Downloading now.
Edit..........................nevermind. They are only available for 32 bit vista and windows 7 atm.

Thx :)I have one problem now.
For some reason both programs don´t let me adjust the fan. It´s greyed out.
Now, that worries me.
Can that be due to the driver ?
Or does my card have disipation instead of fan ?
Duno. I will try to install the latest Asus drivers, cause the card is Asus.
On EVGA precision it will be greyed until you hit the auto button next to fan speed.
Click AUTO then set fan to 100%, click "apply at windows startup.
Your done.

Wasting money on upgrades all the time bugs me about computer games. Sure I can afford it by far, but spending money everytime a new GFX Card arrives doesn't exactly help me in real life with anything. So for the OP be happy with what you got in your setup for now =). Just put the money in the bank and watch it grow (though really can't say that it will grow right now lol). It's not wasting if you enjoy it.
Hell I enjoy getting new gear, tweaking on it and running benchmarks and stuff almost as much as I like gaming itself.
-
Finally I don´t know how to tell my fan to work harder.
You need to download a 3rd party tool like riva tuner.
http://www.guru3d.com/category/rivatuner/
Or EVGA Precision.
http://www.evga.com/PRecision/
With either of those you can set your fans to manual 100% and it will automatically turn them up when you boot up your pc unless you change it.

Woah, I'm green with envy :D. That is impressive, I see now why you say you have no probs with Arma2 performance wise. If you play online do you get high FPS or do you find that your limited by how many FPS the server can get? Like, have you ever got 40 or 50 fps online? It would seem you need a rather large clock speed (like yours) to get a better frame rate than I can get. Still disappointing that my extra 500mhz overclock doesn't give me any performance boost :/ .I generally run between 50 & 120 fps depending on whether grass is on or not. Some servers force on grass and that kills my fps. Knocks me down to 40's sometimes high 30's. BTW-that's with everything on very high/pp normal/aa normal 1680x1050.

Alright, I got it to work. I was trying to put the file only in the missions folder. Apparently you have to put the entire folder in it.
Here is my results using the specs you posted:
View Distance :1000
Resolution :1152*864
Render Res :1152*864
Textures :Normal
Texture Mem :Normal
Tex Filtering :Very High
AntiAliasing :Low
Terrain Detail :Normal
Object Detail :Normal
Shadows :High
Post Process :Very High

However that resolution is not native for my monitor so I took another screen @ 1680 x 1050 which is my native resolution if you care to see the results.

It's not garbage if you don't OC. It is garbage if you do.Yea, that's what I meant.
-
Your CPU is a bottle neck.
-
Sorry man, I can't get your mission to even show up.
I'm curious though. Why not just use the Arma mark benchmark? I've already ran tons of vista 64 vs windows 7 tests on my system using arma mark. Results are on page 55.

PC specs are in my sig.
I score just over 27,000 3dmark 06, and just over 26,000 on 3d mark vantage with my rig.

Try CTRL/ESC, works for me every time.
Seems like every game I play someone has an issue with ALT/Tab. I have used CTRL/ESC to minimize games for years and it has worked flawlessly in nearly every game I have played.
