    I actually upgraded my pc yesterday with hopes of a better gaming experience with arma2.

    Now instead of running like garbage 95% of the time it only runs like garbage 75% of the time on multiplayer games. Especially in cities and aircraft.

    Game runs phenomenal now on single player though.

    I turned everything down to normal. Turned shadows off, post processing off to get my fps up and I actually get up to 50 fps now sometimes down to about 25 worst case so it's not an fps issue anymore. Before I upgraded I got single digit fps in some situations so I thought it was all my rig. Now I can see that it is ARMA.

    I'm beyond frustrated.

    I think you actually figured out a way to make this thing more nerdy than it already is. :)

    LOL right on man. I'm 33 years old with a wife and 2 kids and I had to sneak this thing into my man cave hoping my wife wouldn't see it.

    She did though. She caught me using the trackir and the x52. She said "oh look he thinks he's a f'n pilot now or something." and then said "what the hell is that think on your hat you dork, how old are you anyway"?:D:D

    Thankfully, she didn't see me stuffing a new i7920 and mobo into my computer case as well.;)

    I am seriously fed up with this BS.

    I've been playing for about a week now and I have yet to make it through a SINGLE match because of this "No Message Recieved" crap.

    At first I thought it was my internet dropping connection. But it wasn't.

    What gives with this crap?

    I really want to play this game, but I am growing more and more frustrated daily.

    I'm doing the same thing today. I've been window shopping the last few days...

    on my way later today to put this together. I'm still on the fence about what video card I should get though.

    I7-920 and

    Asus P6T MB

    1 Caviar Black HD 1TB (giving up on Seagates Barracuda. too many problems with 7200.11 drives)

    I already own a BFGTECH 9800GT 512 (plan on getting something else, but can't decide. Maybe Radeon 4870. any recommendations on brand or better choice for video on I7-920 guys?)

    just got trackir5 last week and works great with the game.

    if anything I know I can SEMI play multiplayer on my crappy x2 4000+ machine now so with that CPU above I think I'll be ok.

    I got my new system last night (details in my sig) and oc'd the cpu with my mobo utility a little and I'm averaging 35 fps on high/med settings with high resolution. I scored 19257 on 3dmark 06 first run. My old score with an amd 5600 was 10,500 ish.

    I was running an amd 5600, vista 32, gtx 280 and 4 gigs of DDR2 800 ram as of yesterday and I could barely run this game at all. I got 25 frame average in the benchmark but on actual servers my FPS dipped into the single digits on low and normal settings.

    I upgraded to the rig shown in my sig last night with an i7 and I now average 35 fps so far. I need to do some more testing but so far I see a massive improvement.

    I wanna ask if anyone X52 users find the jets very pitchy and almost uncontrollable at times.. I have been messing with the VTOL flight training and you can never get it to go where you want (IE: THE CIRCLES) The plane doesn't react to well to my user inputs.. Anyone else find this to be true?

    Same here. The aircraft is very unresponsive to the stick. I can fly no problem, but cannot fly though the circles for the life of me. The controls just aren't tight enough.

    It's the same for me.

    I'm using an x52 and it seems that the engine does nothing until I move the throttle to the 100% position.

    When I try to throttle down slightly I crash constantly because the engine basically goes to zero.

    To land a chopper I am having to auto hover and throttle back and forth between 100% and zero% to get it to land without crashing.

    amd 5600

    4 gigs ram DDr2 800

    GTX280

    Vista 32

    lets just say with most settings on low or normal it runs like crap.

    I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered a new i7 920, evga mobo and 6 gigs of ddr3 1600 ram + vista 64 with free windows 7 upgrade.

    Should be in tomorrow and I'm going to get it going and start doing some benchmarks. I expect to see a huge difference. I hope.:D

    I bought one off ebay about a week ago and recieved it in 4 days from the time I ordered it.

    However I cannot get used to it for the life of me.

    For aircraft sure its great. But for infantry I find it very disorienting.

    I turned off zoom which was the main problem, but it still is more difficult to fight as infantry with it than without.

    How long does it take to get used to this thing?

    I'm pretty new to this game but slowly getting it down.

    Anyway, typically when I put my crosshairs on a target tags show up if they are friendly.

    However, this doesn't happen about 30% of the time causing me to aget TK's here and there.

    I'm wondering.

    Is this just a bug?
